Hikaru's POV

Today's the day I have to hand Yoru over to her. But I have a plan.. Her flight doesn't come until 8pm tonight, and the one I have scheduled is for 5pm. I've already gone to Huni-Senpai's mansion to collect Yoru's things. This plan will follow through.

Knock knock

I look over at the door, my heart racing. Glancing up at the camera, watching the green light blink. I grab the passport and pull the suitcase behind me, rushing to the door and opening it.

"Hikaru? What's wrong, you messaged me.." Yoru says, her facial features showing nervousness. I see her holding a folder, and notice that my letters are in it. 

"Come with me, we need to talk." I say, and grab her hand, walking out of the house and going towards the limousine. She pulls her hand away from mine and I flinch slightly. I knew it wasn't going to be this easy.

"W-wait.. where are we going?" She asks timidly, taking a step back.

"I'll explain everything on the ride." I say quickly, looking over at a different camera. Putting the suitcase in the car, I grab her arm and somewhat push her into the limo. Telling the chauffeur to drive, I look at Yoru. She found Athena and hugged the canine to her, burying her face into her fur. "You need to leave.."

"Eh?!" She exclaims, leaning forward slightly, her eyes widening in shock. "What do you mean I need to leave?"

"It's for your own safety! Honestly!" I shout, glaring at her slightly. My phone begins to ring but I ignore it, knowing who it is. "You have to go back to America, I already have your things and here-" I take out the passport, handing it to her. "I already have your passport! Your flight leaves in 40 minutes!"

"What's this all about?! Hikaru I know you hate me, but forcing me to leave like this? Why?" She asks, tears forming in the corners of her topaz eyes.

"I'm looking out for you okay? I'm sorry."

"Sorry? Sorry for what? What are you looking out for!"

"You! Who else!? And i'm sorry for everything! I give up alright? I meant it in the beginning, but now I just feel horrible for hurting you." I huff, feeling heat rise to my cheeks in embarrassment.

"You're confusing me.."

I groan loudly, opening the door as the limo comes to a stop. "Just get on the plane okay? I'm serious, this is for your own safety." 

"Hikaru aren't you going to answer your phone..? It's been ringing this whole time."

"I know! Just ignore it, make sure you get on that plane." I hand her the suitcase and start pushing her into the airport.

"But-"

"No 'but's!" I shout, almost hitting her but holding myself back. "You get to see Jessamine and Nathan again, and dad!" I say, trying to bribe her. I notice her body perk up and walk slightly faster.

"I-i want to see them again.." She whispers quietly. "Hikaru could you please explain this to me more thoroughly though? Wh-what are you protecting me from?"

"I can't explain the whole story... It's too risky. Just promise me you'll get on that plane okay?" I stop walking, placing my hands on her shoulders.

Yoru's POV

I'm so confused... but the look in his eyes holds so much emotion, it scares me. 

"Promise..?" He asks again as the time ticks by slowly.

"I-... I promise." I say quietly and then hug him tightly. I feel his body tense, and fear that he'll push me away, but he hugs me back even tighter.

"Stay safe." He murmurs before letting go and getting back in the car. Taking a deep breath I walk into the airport and get on the plane, just as I promised. 

Timeskip

Stepping off of the plane, I grab my suitcase and get Athena. I guess i'm walking home... But when I exited the airport, Jessamine and Nathan were waiting for me. As tears of joy form, I smile widely, running to the both of them and hugging them tightly.

"Your brother messaged us this morning! We've been anticipating this all day!" Jess shouts, smothering me in her hug. 

"I've missed you two so much!" I say, feeling the tears fall. Nathan kisses my cheek, chuckling and then picking up Athena. 

"C'mon~ We can ride home in my car."

"You got a car? Why didn't you tell me!" I say, pouting childishly. "You leave me out of everything."

"Not today though. We've planned it all out, we'll head back to your dad's farm , going horseback riding and have picnics, and then later tonight we'll go and do karaoke at that one country bar, maybe get a few drinks, have some fun~" 

"We have to catch you up on everything Yo!" Jess shouts, climbing into the back of Nathan's car and allowing me to sit up front.

As the day goes on, it feels like I never even left. I didn't even bother to check my phone the entire day, and by the time I realized this, Nathan, Jess, and I were already at the bar. Laughing giddily, I read the messages, a lot of them were from Kaoru, Mitsukuni, and Takashi, asking where I was. About to text them back, Jessamine pulls me up to the stage to sing with her. People shout for encores as we finish, and the nights a bliss. I stand off to the side to take a breather, laughing hard. 

"Miss Yoru Hitachiin?" A voice asks, and I look over, humming in question. "You need to come with me." Before I can object, they grab my arm and drag me off.

"H-hey! Leave me be! Let me go- mph!" They cover my mouth as the cool crisp night air hits my face as we go outside. 

"Looks like Hikaru failed to complete his job, so I'll have to finish it myself." A female voice whispers in Japanese and she puts a cloth in front of my mouth. As I breath I realize it's chloroform but before I can resist, my world begins to fade into black. 

Why does this always happen to me..?

Hey I finally updated! I just want to thank you guys for staying with me so long, I know the chapters in the beginning of this story are so out of place and jumping around everywhere. I just want to inform you guys now, that I plan on redoing the Beach chapter eventually, I'll let you all know when I do redo it though. And I also wanna thank you for 82 THOUSAND READS OML THAT MAKES ME SO HAPPY! Thank you SO much, I love you all~
