Chapter 9
Hello my Sinners! I'd like to thank you all for being so patient with me! I was in a terrible rut where I could not for the life of me work on this story. Hopefully, I'll be able to update more for this, but with school, once again, updates will be slow, but hey, better than nothing!
Anyways, thank you all for being so patient!

Brooks followed Ban as he walked down the hill, after watching him start to walk away while Meliodus was telling everyone their jobs.
"I think the ol' captain is loosing him mind." Ban muttered to himself, "What kind of info does he expect to gather in a gloomy dump like this?"
Behind her, Brooks could hear Diane advertising the Boar Hat, her voice loud enough to cover the whole town and more.
"Man oh man, this joint is seriously run down." Ban grumbled before stopping and looking over to the side.
Brooks followed his gaze and spotted a little girl leaning against the wall. She seemed weak, tired just from the way she was standing, since her hair was covering most of her face from where Brooks was standing.
"Elaine." Ban muttered suddenly, causing the girl to look his way in confusion.
Ban said something under his breath that Brooks wasn't able to catch.
Suddenly there was a thump, and Brooks looked at the girl who had face planted into the ground, she didn't seem to be moving.
Suddenly moving out from her hiding spot, she ran over to her, kneeling down beside Ban.
"What are you doing here?" Ban asked.
"Following you so you didn't destroy anything." Brooks stated.
Ban just scoffed and gently patted the girl's face. "Hey, hey, hey. Come on." Opening her eyes, the girl looked up at him. "So, you alright?" He asked.
"Get your filthy hands off Ellen!" A voice called out, and Brooks looked over at a small boy, who was holding a... Pitchfork? "Just what do you think you are doing to my sister?"
"Look kid, if you're her brother watching out for her, shouldn't you be making sure she's getting enough food?" Ban asked.
Brooks stared at Ban, who knew he could actually care about other things than himself and booze?
"Shut up! Go away!" The boy shouted, pulling Brooks out of her thoughts. "And leave her alone!"
"Now I'm going to ask you again. Are you making sure that's she getting enough food? Or should I take her away?"
'Ban's getting quite worked up over this' Brooks thought.
Suddenly the boy shouted, and ran towards Ban, Brooks moved to the side, watching as the pitchfork stabbed him in the chest. The boy seemed to realize what he did and his eyes widened in shock.
"No brother!" Ellen exclaimed, running up to the boy. "This man was only trying to help me! What have you done?!"
"But... I-I Though..." The boy stuttered out as Ban pulled the pitchfork out of his chest.
"I'm sorry." The boy said, tears in his eyes. "What can I do to atone for my sin, sir."
Brooks stifled a chuckle, asking one of the Sins what you can do to atone for your sin was almost priceless.
"You wanna atone huh? What's there to make amends for, kid?"
"But I just-" the boy gasped in shock, "Your wound!"
"There's something you should know." Ban started. "Real genuine sins, no amount of repenting erases them."
Brooks watched with widened eyes as a spear ran through Ban's chest and a boy was inches away from his face.
"Glad you finally realized that." The boy said as Ban spat up a stream of blood. "Heya Ban. How goes?" The kid asked, a wicked smile on his face. "Awesome. It's so great to see you after all these years. It's not like you to be so quiet."
"Hold on. Who are you?" Ban asked, totally calm despite the spear in his chest.
"Wow, my feelings are hurt. Who am I?" The boy asked, completely sarcastic. "Have you really forgotten about me?"
"I don't remember you at all. Sorry there bud." Ban stated.
"Hm. Well, I guess it doesn't matter too much." The boy stated as the spear started to spin. "The one things is, you are Ban, the fox sin. The sin of greed. Or maybe you'd prefer I call you by this name. Ban the Undead."
Brooks glanced at Ban, who was wiping the blood from his mouth and the gaping hole in his chest completely healed. "You got a smart mouth, kid. Now I'm getting sick of your tone. The hell do you know about me anyway?"
The kid sighed. "I know your Sin. Even if you don't remember me. You can still remember your own Sin, can't you? You know. That terrible awful crime you committed? To satisfy your selfish greed and gain eternal life. You murdered the Holy Woman at the Fountain of Youth."
Ban lowered his head, his face growing forlorn. He cracked his hands that were laying limply at his side. "Listen up brats." He growled. "Get out of here."
"Let's go Ellen." The boy said, getting Brooks attention. She felt pity for them, they've had to see this whole thing. Walking over to them she knelt down, "Follow me. I'll lead you somewhere safe, alright?" She asked, grabbing the boys hand.
The boy nodded and the three headed out of the stoned in area, leaving Ban and the newcomer to fight.
Behind them, the wall was burst into pieces. Looking back, she watched as Meliodus smacked Ban in the head with a beer mug.
"Bad Ban." He scolded.
Brooks stopped running.
"Captain, could you butt out? I'm kinda busy here." Ban grumbled.
"What's the matter with you, think you can just skip out on work?"
"Some little punk I've never seen before came out of nowhere and started a fight." Ban muttered, pointing towards the kid, causing everyone to look up. "I mean, just look at what he did to my sweet threads."
"Alright, someone better tell me what all this commotion's about." Diane said, walking up.
"Hey, Brooks, what's happenin'?" Tut asked, walking up with his hands in his pockets and Aria behind him.
Brooks just shrugged, watching as both Diane and Meliodus looked at the kid in surprise.
"King!" They both exclaimed.
Ban's eyes widened and he pointed angrily at the kid, or King. "Tell me how that tiny creep is supposed to be King?!" He shouted.
Brooks tuned out their chat and turned to Aria and Tut. "You guys sense something here?" She asked. The whole time she's been in this town she's felt a power.
Aria nodded. "Yeah." She said, "It feels like there's another one of us around here."
Tut nodded. "Yeah, but I can exactly pinpoint it."
"Me neither." Brooks muttered. "It's strange."
She looked up to see King start to fly away. Brooks looked down at the kids who were staring up at Diane with a mixture of fear and awe.
"Hey, you two, want something to eat?" Aria asked, also noticing the two kids.
They looked up at her with wide eyes, "Are you serious?" The boy asked.
"Of course. Follow us." Brooks said.
"Thank you!"
