Chapter 21

"The finals of the Viazel fighting festival are about to begin!" Love Helm shouted, and Brooks looked up at the creature that was in the middle of the raised arena. "The rules are simple, matches are won by a sufficient enough K.O! And if you fall out of the ring, you loose. Let's get to the first match! Griamore vs. Matrona!"

Looking around at the crowd, Brooks spotted a smirking Tut and Sierra making their ways towards her, and she felt a sudden dread.

"Don't tell me you two were pitted together." She said as they walked up to her.

"Alright, we won't." Tut said, his grin widening.

"Just... promise me you won't kill each other, alright?" Brooks asked, letting out a small sigh.

"We don't want anything to happen to you two." Aria told them, slight fear and concern showing in her eyes.

"Yeah, yeah, we'll be fine. Now let's watch this match, I can promise you it'll be a good one."

Rolling her eyes slightly, Brooks turned and looked at the arena, seeing the two people step on the arena, making their way to the center. As she scanned the crowd, Brooks noticed a familiar face among them. Then she shook her head, no... she died 150 years ago. She thought, but she couldn't help but stare.

She may have purple hair, but it was the face that was all too familiar to Brooks. A face that resembled a family member, tightening her fists, she forced herself to look away and pay attention to the match.

"Standing at seven feet tall, and weighing four hundred pounds, Grieamore!" Love Helm announced.

The crowd cheered at the introduction, and Brooks just narrowed her eyes, from the power coming off of him in waves, she knew exactly what he was. This Matrona girl better beat him to a pulp. Though it was unlikely, if she had been a normal person, from the power coming off her, Brooks felt that this match might be even.

"Standing five feet five inches tall, and weighing an undisclosed amount, Matrona!"

"What are her measurements?" Someone from the crowd asked, and Brooks scoffed, there were some men that were idiots through and through.

"They're 36, 23, 35." Meliodas said, and Brooks looked at him, slightly disgusted on how he knew that.

"How'd you come up with that?" King asked.

"Because we know who it is." Gabriel said, starling Brooks.

"Man, you've been so quiet, I almost forgot you were there."

"Oh. Sorry commander." They said, "This Matrona girl got me thinking. I had heard of someone with that same name ages ago, though I wasn't able to place where, or when, exactly I had heard it."

"Hold on there, miss." Love Helm started, causing Gabriel to stop talking. "The hat's fine, but you'll have to take off the cloak. Gotta make sure you aren't hiding any weapons. Just to be safe."

Brooks watched as Matrona reached up and grabbed the clasp on her cloak, throwing it away from her. And Brook's eyes widened.

"It's..." Aria started with shock.

"My tavern's uniform!" Meliodas finished.

"Do you think she's really that strong?" King asked.

"Hm, if that's Elizabeth, then there's something weird going on here."

"Something weird, what do you mean by that?" King asked.

"Her top looks a little smaller than usual, and her butt looks a little bigger."

Brooks looked at Meliodas with disgust, "Man, I can't believe you haven't figured it out already. Even though you're onto something." She sighed.

"Hm?" Meliodas asked, and Brooks shook her head, pointing towards the arena, since Love Helm had started speaking.

"Okay! My eagle eyes will be glued to this first match folks, here we go! Let the fighting begin!"

At the sound of a gong, the match had started.

Matrona wasted no time at the beginning, immediately moving towards Greiamore, pummeling him in the gut.

"Matrona is too fast for Greiamore, and she rushes in ad let's loose a round of punches!" Love Helm shouted excitedly.

Brooks felt a small wave of magic, and she looked towards his gut, a small purple glow emitting from it, just where Matrona had punched him. It seemed to be spreading over his body as he was saying something to Matrona, and soon, he was suspended in the middle of a dark purple orb, the arena cracking at the bottom of it.

"Hey, judging by that guy's power-" Ban started.

"He's another Holy Knight." Meliodas stated.

"Did you guys just figure that out?" Caspar asked, looking at the group of Sins with an blank expression. "We've known since the very beginning."

"What!?" King asked, "How?"

"We can sense magical auras, mainly how strong the magic the user has in them." Brooks explained as Matrona started punching the wall of magic. "That's how we know where each other is." She wrapped her arm around Aria's shoulders, and grinned, pulling her attention away from the fight to look at Meliodas. "I would think since you guys were The Seven Deadly Sins, you would have the same ability. Guess I was wrong." She shrugged, and looked back towards the arena. By now, the ball was expanding, starting to push Matrona away from him. And it wasn't long before she was on the edge.

"Woah!" Love Helm announced, "Thanks to Griamore's mysterious power, Matrona is left struggling on the edge!"

"That's not gonna happen!" Matrona shouted, seeming to be responding to what Greiamore was saying from inside the ball. She reeled her arm back, and with full force, brought it down on the wall. Brooks watched as it shattered under the force of her fist on the wall, and all around her, the crowd awed.

"This fight is over." Gabriel said, seconds before Matrona made her way to Griamore and punched him off the stage, her hat flying off, screaming far into a field.

Once she saw the girl without her hat, Brooks smiled, knowing that Matrona was someone she knew.

"Griamore's out of the ring!" Love Helm shouted, "The winner of this match is Matrona!"

Brooks looked up at her, her pointed finger pointed towards the sky in victory.

"This sweet young girl just took out that hulk of a man with a single punch! This years fighting festival is one to remember folks!"

'Matrona' turned and looked at the group, and Brooks looked over at the others. King was rubbing his eyes like he was seeing things, and Ban was muttering on how it couldn't be her.

"Hey captain." King started, staring at the stage. "Please tell me I'm dreaming or something."

"Oh well." Matrona, or, as Brooks now knew her, Diane, said as she walked over to the group. "And here was thinking I could stay hidden a little while longer." She jumped off the arena with a giggle, and walked up to the group, and leaned lose to Meliodas. "Yep, it's me!" She exclaimed.

"Do I know you?" Meliodas asked. With that, he earned a punch in the gut from Diane, and Brooks let out a chuckle, while Sierra and Tut were full blown laughing, tears streaming down their faces.

"Forget it, you can be such a jerk!" She shouted, and started walking away.

"What did I do?" Meliodas asked, getting up from the ground.

"You're really an idiot captain." King stated, then he started to run after her, calling out her name.

"I can't believe you don't recognize your own team mate." Aria stated, holding her hand up to her mouth as she watched Diane storm off while King ran after her. "You must be really dense."

"No way, that was Diane?" Meliodas asked.

"Yeah, I just wonder why she shrunk." Gabriel stated, "The only thing is- oh!" They didn't say anything more, and instead looked up, watching as King, who had come back to the group, grabbed Meliodas and dragged him towards the hut where the finalists has gone, Ban following them not long after.

"So, Gabriel, you going to tell us what made Diane that small?" Brooks asked, looking over at him.

"It was most likely a Chicken-Matango, or a verity of it. They're mushroom like creatures that can cause objects and people to shrink when in danger."

"Is it permanent?" Aria asked.

Gabriel shook their head, "No, I don't think so. I'm pretty sure Diane will return to her normal size within time."

Aria let out a sigh of relief.

As they had been talking, the second match started, and the so call four year champ was getting his ass kicked by Howzer.

"Man, I really hope I get to fight him." Tut said, he was the only person who was paying attention to the match, his eyes shining with determination and eagerness.

"Well, you might, if you win this match against Sierra. And if I recall correctly..." Gabriel held up their hands, seeming to be counting something. "You lost.. 90% of the time."

"But that means I still won 10% of the matches!" He huffed, as his bulls tail started waving behind him excitedly.

"No... the other 10% you both passed out because you wasted all your energy." Gabriel stated, causing Tut to look away sheepishly.

Following his gaze, Brooks let out a sigh, "Well, looks like you would actually beat him if you go against him." She mused, watching as twisters of sand moved up Howzer's arms.

"Say goodnight!" Taizu exclaimed, lunging towards Howzer, preparing himself to punch him.

"This was a good fight, buddy." Howzer said, he then punched Taizu away once he got close enough and he easily sent Taizu out of the arena, screaming as he fell away from the mountain.

"Howzer wins!" Love Helm shouted. And Howzer flexed, starting to show off slightly.

"Nice one." Meliodas complimented. "He's pretty good."

"Sure is." Ban agreed.

"Yeah, but I'm way better." Tut bragged, a grin on his face. "I could easily wipe the floor with him."

"Let's see if you get that chance." Sierra said, her eyes glinting, and Brooks sighed.

"As long as you two don't kill anyone, or level another town, I'm fine with it."

"I don't think it's possible for them not to level a town." Aria stated, slightly amused.

"And that sounds the start of our Third Match!" Love Helm shouted. "King vs. Old Fart!"
