Chapter 13

Tut slammed his foot into the ground, and the green crystals rose up all around them, causing the terrain to become rocky, and tough to navigate.

"Could you be one of the sins?" The woman asked, tilting her head slightly. "Though Diane has only ever been in stories with Earth Manipulation."

"Well, Hun, we're not in any of the stories." Tut replied, walking up to her calmly, a grin on  his face and his red eyes narrowed, resting his battle axe over his shoulder.

"It's sad to say, but we've been forgotten." Aria added, jumping from one of the stone pillars to the other, her weapon in hand.

Tut grew close to her, and he watched as she gritted her teeth, aiming her sword towards him and the end was engulfed in flame. Swiftly tapping it against the stone, the green crystal shattered into multiple pieces, flinging this way and that, Tut watched as one of the stones flung straight towards him, stopping right before it hit his face.

He looked over to the side, seeing two people standing at the side lines, well, one person standing and the other person floating, their hand outstretched.

"That was close. Wasn't it, Tut?" The newcomer asked, their head tilting slightly.

"Yeah, good to see you again, Gabriel."

Gabriel nodded. "Same to you."

"What's this? Two more? Could the one stopping the rock be the sin known as King?"

"King? I'm afraid I haven't heard of that name." Gabriel stated, flipping their hand and causing the rock to fling towards the woman calmly.

She pressed the tip of her sword towards it, and made it explode into rubble.

"Annoying brat!" She exclaimed, lunging towards him only to be stopped by something, looking down, she saw that her foot was encompassed in water.

"I'm afraid this is an unfair fight." Brooks stated, walking up to her. "Now, you could, I don't know, stand down, or, I could fling you all across the Necropolis and make you a permanent member." she smiled sweetly, "Your choice~"

The lady looked at her, and Brooks saw her body relax, and she looked away, her eyes narrowed in disdain.

"Good plan." Brooks said, making the water retract from around her foot and retreat into the bottles around her waist, "Oh, and if you manage to get out of here, take a message to the higher up." She smirked, "The Zodiacs are back."

The woman looked at her and Brooks took a couple steps back, the Earth pillars around them shrinking back into the ground.

"That was easier than expected. Are we sure that was a Holy Knight?" Brooks asked, walking up to Aria and Tut.

"I don't think so." Aria said.

"Captain!" A voice exclaimed, causing the group to look towards two more figures.

"Sup Ban. Newcomer." Brooks said, waving her hand, "We took care of everything over here." She motioned her head towards the defeated woman, she hadn't moved from her spot yet, but Brooks assumed she would be going back to the living world soon.

"Who are you?" The newcomer asked, and Brooks followed his gaze, noticing that he was staring at Gabriel.

"Oh, I'm Gabriel." They said, pointing to themselves. "I assume you're King?"

"How did you know that?" The boy, King, asked.

"Call it intuition."

"So one more Zodiac and Sin down." Brooks said. "We're doing good!"

"Wait, did you just say Zodiac?" King asked.

Brooks looked at him, "Yes?"

"There's no way you guys are still alive!" King exclaimed.

"Well, I mean, considering you're looking at us in the flesh, I have to disagree." Tut said, Rolling his eyes.

"But, it's been 100 years..."

"Is that really surprising? I mean, you guys have an immortal human and a giant. Both probably living for more than what most people would expect." Aria stated, "I mean, none of us are exactly human either."

"I'm half nymph for example." Brooks stated,

"We're fairies." Gabriel stated.

Brooks looked at him, then she looked up at King, a smile on her face. "It's good to know that someone still remembers us though. Seems like the whole kingdom wiped us from their memories."

"But that just mean's our comeback will be awesome!" Tut exclaimed, punching his fists together.

"Um, Tut... You think that punch caused more power than you thought?" Aria asked, pointing to his hands, which were glowing a bright gold light.

"Wha-?" Tut exclaimed, then he pointed to her, "You're doing it too!" He exclaimed.

Looking around, Brooks noticed that everyone was glowing, and seeming to dissolve into the air.

"The Necropolis senses that you don't belong here." A familiar voice stated. "So now it's pushing everyone out."

Brooks looked over to the source of the voice, seeing the little boy she had met earlier that day.

He was smiling, his sister smiling right beside him. "That was great! You saw who you'd hoped to!"

Brooks mind flashed to her father, a small smile on her face.

She didn't hear their conversation they had between Ban and King, and she sighed, looking in front of her, seeing the smiling of her father.

"I'm glad I got to see you again, until next time." He said with a smile.

Brooks scoffed. "Don't expect it to be so soon. Ya got that?" She asked.

He grinned, chuckling. "Of course."

With those words, Brooks was surrounded in a bright light, clothing her eyes, only to open them again and see the dreary village.

"It seems like we're back in out own world again." Meliodas stated.

"That place totally weirded me out." Diane muttered.

"Look! It's-" Elizabeth exclaimed, looking towards a figure not too far off from them.

"I see, she reached the necropolis by putting herself in a state of near death." Meliodas stated.

"Does that mean she's going to waking up pretty soon?" Hawk asked, his voice shaking.

"Then we'd better get away from here!" Elizabeth exclaimed.

"I say we kill her while the killing's good." Ban stated.

"You barbarian." King stated, "I'll petrify her."

"I think I have a better idea." Tut said, a grin on his face.

Soon, with the help of Meliodas, the woman was tied to the tree, and Tut was scribbling some markings onto her face with a black marker.

After it was done, the two stepped back and chuckled.

"Let's get back to the tavern." Brooks said, already heading along the streets, the others agreed, following her through the dreary village.

----------

"Awaken, awaken now, my apprentice." An echoed voice said, and the woman tied to the tree opened her eyes, looking up at an armored man.

"What? Where? Sir Helbrum!" The woman exclaimed.

"I see that you failed, Guila." Helbrum. "You are not yet ready to engage the Seven Deadly Sins. What is that on your face? Never mind, it's... Not half bad actually."

"What?" Guila asked. "Wait, Sir! I need to tell you something."

"Yes? What is it?"

"I wasn't only fighting the Sins, in fact, they weren't the ones who beat me."

"What do you mean?"

"They told me to take a message with me."

"And that is?"

"The Zodiacs are back."
