The Dinner Party

[Not my video or music]

This was a idea/request by Blankbee27

I might write some request if anyone wants. Well, as long as I like the idea and feel like writing, then I'll do it I guess.
So if you have an idea and would like me to write it, then you can request. I may or may not do it.

(Felt like a fun thing to write and it's a longer chapter! 🎉🥳)

{There *may* be a twist...}

Cole's pov
<><><><>

"Cole, come here. Look at Toby!" Peter said happily.

"Aww, look at him." I said with my voice going into a higher pitch.

Toby was playing with one of his toys, Peter would throw the little mouse and Toby would run after it, then bring it back.

"I've never seen a cat play fetch." I said, kneeling down next to Peter.

"He's pretty special." Peter said.

"So are you." I said.

Peter tried to hide a laugh as he looked away, "That was so corny."

"Yeah, but it's true." I said, going for a kiss.

That got interrupted. Like always.

—————
[Message from Garvey]

{Garvey} Hey, Cole! I don't know if this is a bad time or if you'll be busy. But would you like to come over for dinner? We want to celebrate.

{Cole} It's alright. That sounds nice, just tell me when and we'll be there.
What's the celebration?

{Garvey} Good to hear! It will be tomorrow night, at 6:00 pm. And all of you can come over.
I'll tell you later.

{Cole} Okay, we'll see you then, Garvey! 😄

—————

"Well it looks liked we're going to be busy tomorrow night." I said.

"Why's that?" Peter said, still playing with Toby.

"Garvey invited us for dinner." I said.

"Oh, okay." He said.

Looking at him, with a big smile plastered on his face. He always smiled when he looked Toby.
Having a pet around definitely helps people feel better. I should have gotten a pet years ago.

Peter's hair was always so cute and messy, I couldn't help but love it. And his freckles proudly showing up as he smiled.

"Can I have that kiss now?" I asked.

He looked over at me, "Mm. Good idea." He said then quickly kissed- Toby? Wh-what about me?

"Uh, hey! What about me!?"

He laughed a little, "Alright, come here." Putting his hands on my face, pulling me closer.
No matter how many times we kissed, the spark was still there. The warmth of our lips together, the passion and love we had for each other and everything else disappeared.

🍂

The next day,

Walking into the kitchen to get some more water and sneak a snack.

My mom was leaning against the counter, doing something on her phone.
"Cole! Your not eating before we go to dinner!" She yelled as I tried to grab something.

"But I-"

"Cole. Mathews. Go sit with Peter and wait for dinner." She said firmly.

I pouted, then made my way back to the couch where Peter was.
"I'm hungry." I said, leaning back onto the couch.

"Dinner will be soon, you'll survive big guy." Peter said.

"Big guy?" I said surprised. "Mm, I kinda like that."

Peter quickly nudged me with his elbow, "Shut up!" He said embarrassed.

"Ow! That hurt. Rude!" I said looking over at him. "Ah, I might just have to-..."

"W-what?" Peter said nervously.

I leaned towards him, making him back away. "Then I'll just have too..." Looking deep into his eyes, scaring him. Then quickly smashing my lips into his.

He pushed me away, "Ah, your such and idiot!" He yelled out then started laughing.

"Alright boys! It's time to head over to Garvey's!" My mom said, walking towards the door.

I was still smiling after the stunt I pulled, looking back at Peter and kissing him before we got up.

🍂

Me and Peter held each others hands as we sat in the backseat of the car, looking out of the windows.

We arrived at Garvey's,

"Cindy! Ah, it's so good to see you!" Garvey said happily, hugging her tightly.
They started talking, blocking the doorway.

"Uh, guys? Can we come in?" I asked.

"Oh! Right. Ha. Sorry boys. Come in, come in!" Garvey said.

We had some small talk and but I got away to go to the kitchen. I was to hungry to just wait. Maybe I can sneak a bite or two?

"Hey, Sandy." I smiled as I walked up to her.
The food smelled delicious, making me even more hungry and impatient. Sandy's definitely a great cook, so can we speed this up? Is it time to eat yet?

"It's good to see you Cole. How are things going with you?" She asked, stirring something.

"Things have been good, I mean there were some rough moments. But I just want to keep my head up and keep going." I explained.

"Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming." Sandy said with a smile.

Then there was a knock at the door. Who else would be coming over? Oh, what if it's Edwin!!

Peeking around the corner to see who it was, Garvey opened the door.
"William! Good to see you." Garvey said.

My dad's here!? Wait, why would he be here?

He said something to Garvey, shaking hands then walked in.

"Two minutes until dinner!" Sandy called out.

Oh, finally.

Me and Peter helped set up the table and put the dishes of food on the table. It's kind of ironic that the disabled, clumsy people are the ones to carry hot and heavy dishes of food. But I'm seriously so hungry, so I'm not going to drop anything.

"Girls! Dinner's ready!" Garvey yelled up the stairs.

"Be right down!" One of them called out.

I made eye contact with my dad, so I walked over to greet him.

"Hey, dad." I smiled and hugged him.

"Hey, kid." He said smiled back, hugging me.

Pulling away, "Kid!?" I said with a confused look.

"Well, you are a kid." He said, messing with my hair.

My jaw dropped, "Uh, no I'm not. I'm almost 18 and I'm basically an adult now. I lived on an island, alone for 2 years!" I said, putting my arms out on my sides.

My mom and dad smiled, trying not to laugh as they shook their heads.

"Everyone, come sit down!" Sandy called out.

Sophie and Rose walked down stairs then we all picked a chair to sit.

"I'll get drinks for everyone." Sandy said.

"I'll help you honey." Garvey said. They gave us all drinks then sat down.

Garvey and Sandy were next each other, opposite of me, with Rose beside her mom. Then my mom and dad were together, on the right side of the table. Peter was at the end on my left, then Sophie was next to me.

Peter being at the head of the table was kinda cute. But that meant he was staring at my dad. So that was kinda awkward, at least he was still close to me.

We passed the dishes around, grabbing what we wanted. I piled the food high on my plate.

Happily talking to each other while we ate.

"Mm, this is so good, Sandy!" I said as I tried all of the different things.

"Thank you." She smiled brightly, making Garvey look at her. They looked so sweet together, like really in love. Are me and Peter like that?

"It would have been great if Edwin was here." I said looking towards Garvey.

"Yeah. I kept trying to get him over here, but he hates the city. But can you blame him?." Garvey explained.

My mom started talking with Sandy and my dad with Garvey. Rose just ate quietly, zoned out in her own world.
Once we were finished eating, they went into the kitchen to talk and put the dishes up. But I got a little bit more food. Even though I probably shouldn't, since I was already really full. Oops.

"So, Cole..." Sophie started to say.

I looked up at her mid-bite, "Hm?"

"Can you tell me more about the island? I'm really curious." She asked.

I chewed the bite of food, took a few sips of my drink, then said, "Okay. What do you wanna know about it?"

"What was your favorite part? What was interesting or fun?" She asked curiously, leaning closer to me.

"Uh, well, I liked seeing the different animals, especially the spirit bear. And we spent a lot of time carving, but I wasn't to good at it." I said.

"Oh that's so cool! I would love to see the wild animals, as long as I was safe that is. Oh, and it would be so amazing if you carved me something! I'm sure your not that bad at it." She said smiling, placing her hand on my arm.

"Uh, no, trust me. He sucks at carving." Peter said.

"Yeah, yeah. But I'll get better with more practice. And it's hard to compare my carvings to your masterpieces." I said, smiling at him.

"I'm sure they're still good. I would love to see you carve something! Maybe you could teach me!" Sophie said excitedly. Smiling big and bouncing around in her chair.
"Could you teach me to carve!? Pleassee?" She begged, holding onto my arm.

"I guess." I said, hoping she would calm down a bit. I haven't carved in awhile though.

"But it'll probably take awhile to make it. Trying to carve a piece of wood with a sharp knife and one hand, is pretty challenging." I explained, slightly joking around, even though it was very challenging.

"That's okay. You could show me how to do it. Maybe I could help some." She said.

"Well, I won't be to busy, so I can show you." I said.

"Aw, thank you, Cole." She said, hugging onto me.
I gently patted my hand on her shoulder.

"Oh and do you want to hear something I'm good at?" She asked, looking at me.

"Uh, I dunno. What?" I said, curious and confused.

"I'm very good at giving massages. People have told me they love it." She said happily.
"Maybe it could help your arm. Would you like me too try?" She asked.

"That actually sounds really nice. Could you?" I asked. Thinking about it, my shoulders were tight and I never had a massage. So why not.

"Alright." She said happily. Standing up and putting her hands on the tops of my shoulders.
Her hands felt so tiny, gently rubbing my shoulders then using her thumbs to press and rub circles.

Damn, this feels good. Why have I never had a massage!? More guys should try this.

"Mm. That feels great. Thanks." I said, leaning back into her hands.

"Your welcome. Just lay back and enjoy." She said.
Pressing her fingers in the right spots that made my muscles relax.

Partly opening my eyes to see Peter staring at me, leaning back in his chair with his arms folded.

"What's wrong?" I asked, opening my eyes completely to look at him.

He suddenly snapped out of his trace like state, "Huh? What?"

"Are you okay? You were just zoned out." I said, leaning forward.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Just thinking about something." He said then got up, walking away from the table.

"Will you be busy tomorrow?" She asked.

"Uh, I don't think so. I don't have any plans that I know of yet." I said, tilting my head up to look at her.

"Good. Cause your going to teach me to carve tomorrow." She said, continuing to massage me.

"Ha, alright then." I said. Closing my eyes to enjoy the relaxing feeling.

Peter's pov
*-*-*-*-*-*-*

We got invited to Garvey's for dinner, which made me and Cole excited. Since we barely get to see him.

Cindy drove us over then we went in and started talking, but then dinner was finally ready, so we all rushed over to grab a seat and a plate of food.
Everyone knows that Sandy is a great cook, so we might be fighting over the food.

While everyone was busy talking at the table, I was to busy eating all the rolls. Bread is just so good, how could you not?

The adults started talking about something, then got up, but I just zoned out. Are we having dessert?

Sophie started talking, but only to Cole.
Fluttering her big doe eyes and moving closer to him. She kept asking him questions about the island, but it's not like she actually cared. All she wanted to do was touch Cole. Ugh. How obvious can she be?
All dolled up, just for him.

She kept saying things like, teach me how to carve, your so big and strong, I couldn't survive on my own, I'd need someone like you to protect me. Uck. Then she started saying how she was good at massages. How is Cole so oblivious!? She won't keep her dirty paws off of him!

Cole looked over at me, "What's wrong?"

Suddenly realizing that I had my arms crossed and was staring at them with a disgusted expression.
"Huh? What?"

"Are you okay? You were just zoned out." He said, leaning forward and actually paying attention to me.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Just thinking about something." Like the fact this tramp is all over you!
I got up, not being able to handle watching that anymore.

Walking into the kitchen where the adults were still talking about something.

Sandy noticed me walk in, "Oh, hey, Peter. Sorry that we were so busy talking. I guess it's time for dessert guys!" She said happily.

"Ooo, dessert!?" I said.

"What's for dessert?" William asked.

"I bet it's good!" Cindy said.

Sandy went to the fridge, pulling out a cold pan of some sort of dessert. Garvey grabbed some more plates for everyone and then opening up the pan to show the delicious looking dessert.

"This is my four layered dessert. Everyone always loves it." Sandy said.

"It's so good, I could eat the whole thing myself. And I probably will." Garvey said laughing.

"Looks good. So can I have some now, please?" I asked impatiently.

"Yeah, come here. How big of a piece do you want?" She asked.

"As big as my hand." I said very seriously.
She cut a big portion, put the four layered dessert on a plate and handed it to me. I quickly took a bite, immediately falling in love with it.
Why is it so good!!??
I devoured the whole piece in one minute.
Not even sitting down, just standing in the middle of the kitchen, wolfing it down.

"Cole! Sophie! Do you want dessert?" Sandy called out.

A minute later they walked into the kitchen to get a plate. Ugh, she had her hands all over him. At least I didn't see it. But what else did she do!? Cole didn't stop her or even notice.

"I already ate a lot, maybe I shouldn't have any." Cole said, looking at the half gone pan of dessert.

"You can take some home, honey." Sandy said.

Yeah, it's not the only thing he's taking home. Crossing my arms as I stared at Sophie, holding onto Cole's arm like he would disappear. She was trying way to hard and being so obvious.
Did anyone else notice or were they to busy in their own world?

Cole was certainly oblivious. I mean, I still love the idiot, but he'll be sleeping on the couch tonight. I'll make his bed, mine!

"Ooo, I love four layered dessert! You should definitely try it Cole!" Sophie said excitedly, still holding onto his arm. Even with both of their parents watching.
I wasn't going to just keep watching this! But I didn't want to fight or anything while we were here.
We're guest and it would be rude to make a scene.

So I put my empty plate down, walked away and found Rose by herself. She snagged a plate of dessert and was now hiding in a different room.

"What are you doing over here?" I asked.
She was surprised to see me, looking up at me as she was mid-bite.
"Uh?" She mumbled, chewing the piece, and facing away.
"Ahem. I was just eating." She said quietly.

"I saw that." I said jokingly. "But why are you hiding away in a different room?" I asked.

She just looked away with her head down.

"It's alright, I'm just messing around. I get it. Staying away from people and enjoying the alone time." I said.

"Yeah." She said quietly.

"Are you jealous of Sophie being around Cole?" She suddenly said, catching me off guard.

Looking down at my tapping foot. "Maybe." I said quietly.

"Sorry about that. She's been like obsessed with him. Even though everyone knows you two are together." She said.

"I've never heard you talk that much before." I said surprised.

She looked away shyly, blushing, with her hair covering her face.

"I may not like Sophie that much, but I think me and you can get along." I said with a smile.

She nodded.

Cole's pov
<><><><>

Even though I was stuffed, definitely ate to much. I couldn't resist the dessert. I mean, four layers of delicious dessert!? How could I turn that down?

"Mm, that is the best thing ever." I mumbled with my mouth full.

"I told you it was good." Sophie said with a big smile.

Garvey and Sandy looked at each other and whispered something.

"Alright, everyone come here, please! Time for the announcement!" Garvey yelled out.
I looked around and noticed that Peter wasn't in the room. Where'd he go?

Peter and Rose walked into the kitchen. All of us gathered, waiting to here what Garvey was going to say.

"Now that everyone is here, it's time to tell you all why we're gathered here today." Garvey said.

"Oh and I wanted to say it earlier at dinner, but Garvey was to busy talking everyone's ears off." Sandy said jokingly, holding onto his arm.

"Yeah, sorry about that, honey." He said sweetly, looking over at her.

"Well, we have very good news. We have heard back from the doctors annnddd, drum roll please...
Sandy is officially cancer free!" Garvey said happily.

None of us were expecting that, we were all in shock.

"Wow. I didn't- congratulations Sandy!" My mom said happily, hugging Sandy.

"That's great news. Congratulations." William said, raising up his non-alcoholic drink.

"Wow." I mumbled under my breath. Even after knowing Garvey for so long, we barely know anything about him and his family, so none of us expected that.

"It's great, isn't it?" Sophie smiled. I was so shocked that I kind of forgot she was beside me.

"Yeah. That's great news." I said. Getting my arm away from Sophie's grasp and going over to hug Sandy.

"Damn, Garvey. You still have secrets, huh?" I said jokingly.

"Well, I like to keep my personal life away from work." He said.

"Now that everyone knows why you were invited, I want to say thank you for coming and celebrating together." Garvey said.

The adults went into a room and kept talking, while the rest of us, the teenagers, stayed together.

"Why don't I show you around the house. You should see my room! I just rearranged it!" Sophie said excitedly, grabbing my hand and pulling me up the stairs.
She's definitely a lot to handle. Personally I'm tired and ready to just go to sleep now. But we were invited, so I won't complain.

"Alright, come in. Tell me what you think." She said with a big smile.
Her room was clean and organized, with pink and white colors all around. It looked cozy, as the lights were down low.
In the middle was a big, pink, poofy bed, a clean desk, with a throne like chair. Next to it was a organizer filled with makeup, by a mirror.
Then a dresser and big closet full of clothes.

"Sooo? What do you think?" She asked.

"Uh. It's very... you." I said. What do I know about girls rooms. Why would she want my opinion anyways?

"That's all?" She asked.

"I dunno. It just looks like a girls room." I said with my hands in my pockets.

She grabbed my hand again, "Come here. I want to show you something." She closed the door then walked over to her bed, both sitting down on the edge.

She took a deep breath then said, "Well, lately its been rough on all of us, with all of my moms health problems. I mean, now she's better. But I- it's just been hard on me, y'a know?"

"Yeah. I can only imagine what that feels like for you." I said.

She gently squeezed my hand, "Thank you, Cole. It's great to have you around." She said then hugged me.
Gently rubbing her back to comfort her.
"Hey, it's okay now. Things get better."

"Mm hm." She mumbled, still holding onto me.
She tilted her head and slightly pulled away, suddenly kissing my cheek.
I pulled away out of shock. Confused about what just happened.

"I really like having you around Cole." She said, looking into my eyes.

"Uh- u- m" I mumbled quietly.

"We should spend more time together." She said, leaning closer to me. But I kept moving away, almost falling off the edge of the bed.

"It's getting late. I should get going home." I said.

"You can stay for a few more minutes. Pleassee?" She pouted.
"I really want you to stay." She said, rubbing her hand on my chest. Leaning over me, pushing me down onto her bed.
"I really like you Cole. Do you like me?" She asked.

"I need to get going, Sophie." I said.

*Trigger Warning*

Placing her finger in my lips, "Shh. You can stay a little longer. I told you I want to show you something."

"W-what?" I asked confused.

She got even closer to me, kissing me on the lips then backing away.

Then she suddenly pulled her top down, exposing her chest to me. "Do you think I'm pretty?"

Quickly closing my eyes and turning my head away.

"You can look Cole. And you can touch if you want. I don't mind." She said.

"I sh- I need to-" I mumbled.

"Shhh, Cole. Just enjoy it, baby." She said, grabbing my hand and placing it on her naked chest.

Yanking my hand away from her, with my eyes still closed.

Then hearing people talking in another part of the house, I quickly got up and out of her room. Making my way through the hallway, away from- whatever just happened.

*

Peter and Rose were sitting on the couch together, my parents, Garvey and Sandy were sitting in the dinner room laughing about something.

My heart was racing, confused and uncomfortable about what just happened.
Instinctively going over to Peter, "Having fun? Sitting by yourselves?" I said, trying to joke.

"Yeah. Me and Rose get along pretty well." Peter said.

"It's late and I'm ready to go lay down. What about you?" I asked.

He looked at his phone to check the time, "Yeah." He yawned, "I could sleep now."

With that, I walked over to my mom. They were busy in conversation, so I tapped her shoulder. She kept talking, so I tapped her shoulder again. After a few seconds, she finally turned around.

"What is it, honey?" She asked quietly.

"Can we go home? I'm really tired now." I said.

"Alright. Well, everyone. It's time for us to get going." She said, turning to everyone. We all said our goodbyes then walked out of the house, into the car.

"It was good to see you Cole." My dad said, he hugged me then went to his own car.

"Goodnight, William!" My mom said then we went home.

🍂

I was so tired. Getting inside the house, taking off my shoes and going upstairs. Before I went to bed I peed and brushed my teeth.

Why Sophie do that? What does it mean? Why was she so touchy? Did anyone else notice? Doesn't she know I'm with Peter?

"Hey, Cole." A voice suddenly said, snapping me out of my trance.

Spitting out my toothpaste, "Yeah?"

"Can we talk about something?" He said, standing outside of the bathroom with his arms crossed.

"What?" I asked confusedly.

He sighed, "Nothing. It's late, we should probably just go to sleep."

"No. What is it, baby?" I asked, walking over to him.

"I'm just- I'm mad. Jealous. It's- ugh." He said, rubbing his head.

"Hmm?" I mumbled, placing my hands on his arms.
"What do you want to tell me?"

"Sophie. She's obsessed with you! She won't keep her hands off you and she kept fluttering her eyes at you. How does she not know we're together!?" He said annoyed.

Sighing deeply, "Why don't we just get some sleep, baby." I said softly.

"Yeah. I was really mad earlier. I was going to make you sleep on the couch and I would get the bed." He said with a smile.

"Oh, really? You think you can have my bed." I said.

"Uh, yeah. I get what I want from you." He said.

"Eh, yeah. That's true. Let's get some sleep, baby." I said, kissing his forehead.
We laid down and cuddled. He fell asleep quickly in my arms. He was just so sleepy, and adorable.

But I had a hard time falling asleep. I couldn't stop thinking about everything that happened today.
Going over to Garvey's was nice, seeing both of my parents in the same room, being happy. Apparently Sandy had medical issues before but was going well now.

Then... the girls. I barely noticed Rose, but Sophie wouldn't leave me alone.
At first I thought she was nice, just very hyper. But then I felt... so uncomfortable. Why would she do that to me? Why did I feel that way? Peter has every right to be mad. But what happens if I tell someone about it?
I don't even know what happened. I'm so confused.
