- fourteen: suseongmot lake -
After having lunch at a small local restaurant, Taehyung took Hanna on the bus to Suseongmot Lake Resort.
"Gosh, I haven't been here for a long time! I see the scenery is still as beautiful as before." Hanna exclaimed after they arrived at Suseongmot Lake.
"So you've been here before?" Taehyung immediately asked nervously, "With another boy?"
"Of course not," Hanna replied, "I came here with my mother a few years ago. Why did you ask?"
Taehyung heaved a sigh of relief after hearing Hanna's words, but immediately pretended not to care, hiding his jealousy, "Nothing, I was just asking randomly."
Soon, the two of them walked to the front of a row of swan boats, and Taehyung suggested taking a ride on one so they could travel around Suseongmot Lake leisurely. Hanna worried that she would be too tired to step on the pedals; however, Taehyung patted his chest and assured, "Don't worry, you have me, and I'll help you. Let's go!"
After purchasing the tickets, Taehyung first boarded the swan boat, and then reached out to Hanna who was still standing on the shore, "Don't be afraid, just grab my hand and hop here."
Moved by Taehyung's thoughtfulness, Hanna nodded, took his hand, and boarded the swan boat carefully.
Suseongmot Lake was a really big lake, and the two of them roamed aimlessly on the lake. When they were tired, they would just stop stepping on the pedals and let the swan boat float for a while, enjoying the beautiful scenery. The weather was beautiful that day: it was really sunny, and the whole lake was sparkling in the shade of the verdant trees.
"See? The weather today is too good to stay at home. Fortunately I pulled you out for some fresh air, otherwise you'd get moldy if you stayed at home all summer holiday long, you silly girl." Taehyung said, and poked Hanna lightly on the nose.
Hearing how Taehyung made himself sound like he was trying to help her, when in fact, he just wanted to hang out with her, Hanna couldn't help but chuckle. How cute.
"Why are you laughing?" Taehyung tilted his head curiously.
"It's a secret." Hanna smirked.
"Aww, tell me what's so funny!" Taehyung gave Hanna puppy dog eyes, grabbed her by her sleeve, and kept shaking her arm affectionately to plead with her.
"Nope, I'm not telling you!" Hanna stuck her tongue out childishly and tried to break free of Taehyung's grasp, but lost her balance while pulling.
"Watch out!" Seeing that Hanna was about to fall into the water, Taehyung immediately reached out and grabbed her wrist, pulling her back into the swan boat. However, Taehyung seemed to have used too much force, and pulled Hanna to a position where their faces were only 3 centimetres apart— a perfect distance for lovers to kiss.
With a subtle atmosphere between them, Hanna and Taehyung held their breath, and their hearts were beating wildly. The two of them looked deeply into each other's eyes, and only after a while did Hanna come back to her senses, and quickly pushed Taehyung away.
"Tha... Thank you for saving me." Hanna stammered, with her face flushing red.
"Hey! Why did you push me away? Aren't you scared of falling into the water again? Do you think you're that kind of female lead from dramas who keep falling into the water?" Taehyung raised his voice, trying to hide his nervousness. Hanna doesn't dislike me... does she?
"Time... Time's almost up, let's hurry back and return the boat." Hanna changed the subject immediately, avoiding eye contact with Taehyung.

Soon it was sunset, and Hanna and Taehyung went for a walk along Suseongmot Lake after dinner. Crowded with people, the resort was very lively on this summer Sunday night. As they walked, the two of them met a busker who was singing and playing guitar, and so they stopped to listen to his performance.
Hanna and Taehyung stood there for around fifteen minutes, and listened to several songs in a row. Before leaving with Taehyung, Hanna dropped a few coins into the busker's box, and the busker nodded at her with grateful eyes.
"Do you like boys singing?" Taehyung asked as they walked, hands in his pockets and trying to make himself sound as casual as possible.
"Mhm, I think boys who can sing are especially cool."
"I see." Taehyung replied, and kept Hanna's words in mind.
At eight o'clock, music started playing. Under colourful lights, water columns sprayed out from the lake surface, forming a beautiful arc.
"The musical fountain show is starting! Let's hurry over to watch it!" Hanna ran towards the lakeside excitedly, and Taehyung followed behind her with a pampering smile on his face.
Surrounding Hanna and Taehyung were many couples, who were also there to watch the musical fountain show. Some of them held hands with their fingers intertwined, while some wrapped their arms around each other's waist; yet given the relationship between Hanna and Taehyung, it would be inappropriate for them to do any of these.
Slightly embarrassed, Hanna and Taehyung tried their best to ignore the lovey-dovey couples around them, and focused on watching the show. However, the two of them were standing so close to each other, that the backs of their hands were almost touching. Just like last time, if one of them was bold enough, maybe they could've held hands, but they didn't.
The water columns on the lake kept rising and falling with the rhythm of the music and Hanna fixed her eyes on them, watching their movements intently. Meanwhile, Taehyung, who had been watching the show, turned his head and gazed at Hanna's profile silently. The lights of the show shone upon Hanna's tiny face, illuminating the corners of her lips that were slightly upturned in joy, and her focused eyes that were gleaming in the night.
"So beautiful." Taehyung mumbled, unable to look away from Hanna.
"Yeah, it is." Hanna echoed, not knowing that Taehyung was talking about herself, but thought he was referring to the musical fountain show.

A/N:
Sorry for keeping you waiting!! I know it's been a while since the last update but I really needed to take some time off from writing, so I ask for your forgiveness. When I was away, I spent some time with my family (that I hadn't seen for around two years), and then took a mental health break to grieve over my late grandfather, who was cremated a few days ago. I really wasn't in the mood to write, so I sincerely hope that you can understand.
In addition, since school is starting in a week, I may become more busy in the future. The waiting time between each chapter may become slightly longer but I promise I won't stop writing, so I hope you can stay with me throughout this journey!!
I hope you've enjoyed reading this chapter about Hanna and Taehyung's first date, and I'll see you in the next chapter :)
