THE PAST

  Work place

A weeks along with couple of days has passed after her meeting her brother. It was a little bit of pain in the ass that sometimes knocked her from sleep that she didn't talk to him when she has to, and now that he was nowhere to be in view she was scared of never meeting him again, never seeing him for her ego and the mind that shoves her memory in form of photos won't allow her.

The still hubbub of the restaurant Carla worked at was never letting her to think, in a kind of way, it indeed was good, but perhaps a thought for the mind wouldn't hurt that bad, specially not to her who was adapted to thinking as an essence in her daily routine.

"Carla" her name was called, if the voice wasn't familiar and if the calling didn't sound a bit demanding, she would have never masked her face with a soft feature to turn with wide eyes and hopes that burnt her like hell.

"What do you want Adrian" she wanted to snap, Carla really wanted to keep her guards high, but not to him, not to her brother who has once protected her, not he who she once cried for and at, not he who cheered her up every time and not he who was always there for her, to hear her secrets and to always defend her.

He had never defended you, he was only acting. Did he defend you back that day, did he have your back?!

Her subconscious who for almost all her life never stood with her, and she herself in form of her subconscious that never allowed her to be happy for about around 6 years, was there as an obstacle to hug him, and to let him know her updates, if there was any that is.

"C-can we talk?!" Adrian say, in a worry she will snap any moment, and him not wanting that to happen took a caution. "Please" he then adds, as if he knew she would never accept without a sense of decorum.

Carla being her noticed the blonde haired girl that was watching everything from behind two seats, a look of hope in her eyes. As soon as their eyes met, the girl started to see anywhere but her, once at the roof then back to the ground, she then check if Carla was still watching her with a sneek that Carla saw clearly sending her glowers back, the girl with wide eyes started to look again here and there.

She would slowly start talking to the juice, Carla couldn't stop thinking, and even though she thought that the girl was too way adorable, she couldn't send her a smile assuming that she was with Adrian.

"Later" she just wanted to wave him away, and later, later Issac will come to pick her up, she would be strong with him. For in a way when he was with her, it was like a feeling of lightning struck upon her, her fears and all the insecurities.

Carla was afraid if her feelings for hik, she didn't know if she could water it or chop it off, for all she knew Issac would never accept her once her hear the little past the countered in her life.

"Thank-"

She didn't let him finish before moving past him, watching slowly as he walk to the girl that Carla liked in a way.

After couple of hours, the four, Issac, Carla, Adrian and his girlfriend who Carla knew as Jessica sat in a calamitous round table of a dowdy restaurant, the bilious silent peeling when Jessica spoke again for the umpteenth time. She sure was garrulous. But at least she was doing them all a favour.

"What did you want to talk about" Carla didn't want to spend her time seated here, when she could sleep in her small home with Issac by her side.

Adrian took a look at Issac, judging if he could speak with him here or if he should change the subject, for Adrian didn't know he would be here. Noticing his gaze Issac stood, giving space for them to talk. And Carla in a way understood that secretly Issac wanted the two siblings to be siblings.

"I'll..umm..use the bathroom"

Carla though didn't want him to go anywhere, and so she held his wrist begging him with her eyes before turning to Adrian with a frown.

"If you thought Jessica being here with us would be OK when I don't even know her, then why would you think Issac being here when I know him the most wouldn't be OK?!" Carla again didn't want to snap, then she saw Issac in the eye, again begging him to seat and hold her hand in a encouraging way like he always did, "just because he has a dark feature and tattoos doesn't mean he's not better than any of you"

Adrian, if that hurt him even a little bit, as he was her everything and was now being replaced, didn't show it. Carla though, she was afraid, now Issac would know what happened past the long years of her life, and she couldn't presume what would happen after that. She didn't know if he would be the sane with her or if he was going to leave.

The thoughts of him leaving came taunting her again and again, haunting her and eating her, her fiddling fingers were held in a warm one, interlocked with Isaac's. With a twinkle in her eyes, Carla met Isaac's blue electric eyes, his calm nodding feature putting her to rest.

"I don't know when to start..." Adrian rubbed his face looking around the small cafe, Jessica, in a calming manner, putted her hand on his lap rubbing slowly, and Adrian looking at her smiled before taking deep breaths continued, making Carla tighten her hold in the warm grasp of hers and Isaac's.

"...to be honest with you Carla, I could only say I regret not beating the shit out of Carlos when I heared he...umm..raped you?! Or for not standing with you when you wanted me the most, I didn't really know standing with my parents, at that time popularity meant a lot to me and I didn't my picture to get ruined, and am sorry! I...I just am sorry for selling your justice, your trust, your hope and everything for popularity, Fuck I really regret it, I was a fucking psycho and and.."

"It's enough Adrian" Carla spoke, all this time she couldn't meet Isaac's gaze that burned holes on her when the word 'rape' was spoken, she couldn't pull herself out of the execrable stark she was in, or even she couldn't know if she wanted to pull her hands away before he does, or hold on tighter when he pulled. "That's enough for now don't you think"

She was feckless for what was going to happen, and now if Issac was going to leave, she need Adrian to tell her everything would be OK just like Issac would always do, but a part if her that lies within deep inside her knew for sure that that wasn't her real reason she wanted to forgive Adrian, but rather missing him was. She just couldn't wait to get back to her life where she was bullied, for at that time, even though her parents didn't like her, there were people who stood out for her, and even if she was like a sore thumb that stood awkwardly in between people who were in groups, there were people who in a little way resembled her. And back then she knew with all the bully she faced, with all the insults she accepted and believed were true, she knew she was at least happier than she ever was.

"I forgive you"

"What?!" Wide eyed Adrian ask,

"She said that she forgave you damn it, what else do you want?!" Jessica sent a glower in the path of Adrian.

Carla resisting a smile put a courage to turn to Issac facing him and meeting his eyes. The trepidation buzzing through her veins, for she still didn't know what would happen next.
