The Ship Begins

My title is The Metal Skinned. I was once a soul traped in armor, but that's a time long forgotten. Now, I'm just a normal girl with the ability to switch to my armored form... OK, so maybe not normal, but I can take the form I please. Readers, listen to me, I knew Reaper, during the hundred years of peace, we used to date, but after The Cleansing, he... changed.

Never had I seen such rage in his eyes. He's become angry and unstable, he must be stopped. I have been told by Reaper Classic to assassinate him. See, our faction believes this is the last story arc, so if we can stop the fighting, we can have peace without anyone being erased. Death, and erashion are different. From death, we return, from erashion, we do not. Erashion is the destruction of one's soul. If that occurs, there is no recovering.

I don't want to kill him however, I hope that I can remind him. He really did love me, once, but that changed. Now, he is obsessed with killing Gen3king. I sense his aura and start approaching.

"What?" I ask.

"The plot's gone to shit," The Lucky Bounty Hunter explains, "I gotta make a living, so I'm going back to my old job, and Gen placed a fine bounty on your head. No hard feelings?"

"No hard feelings," I reply, "after I kill you." I bend the black soil beneath him to throw him off balance. He flips back into a handspring.

I feel a familiar aura. Could it be... No, and even if it is, she'll just get in my way, or worse, get hurt. I have to face Edgar without her.

He draws his pistol and fires. I douge the bullet as it flies by my nose. I put my momentum into the swing of my scythe, but his gryphon gets in the way. It can only be killed via magic, so my scythe bounces off. I use the momentum from being pushed back to transition into a lunge, my fist surrounded by magical fire. The blow kills the gryphon, however, I go all in with the swing and can't dodge The Lucky Bounty Hunter's next shot. He gets me in the knee, I can't get up, I can't move. He puts the gun to my head.

"Any last words?" He asks.

I sense her aura again.

I can see him now, he's about to be killed. I consider letting him die, but I know there's good in him. I have to try to reason with him. Regain his trust. This is my only chance. I encase my arm in armor and catching The Lucky Bounty Hunter off guard, killing him with a clean blow to the stomach.

I approach Reaper. "You OK?" I ask.

You know what, I'm just gonna call her Armored. Cause her actual title is a mouthful. "I'm fine," I reply, "I have Pestilence's soul, I can die three times in a row you know before I actually have to wait to return. What are you doing here?"

Shit, need to think of a lie fast. Uhhhhh... Let's see, he does hate Gen, so I'll just roll with that.

"I'm here to help you kill Gen," I explain, "the one who tore us apart."

"Glad to have you on the right side," I reply, "listien, I'm a bit beat up, so, if you could please finish the job so I can recover things would be easier."

Well, if he does have Pestilence's soul then killing him now will make killing him later easier. I hide my bottle of healing angel's blood and stab him with my knife. He revives immediately. If he dies again before twenty four hours pass, then he'll really die on the third death having no instant revivals left.

She smiles at me, her smile is warm, comforting, it reminds me of the hundred years of peace, when we were happy together. However, that ship has sailed if you get my drift (Ba dum tis). The best I can do now is kill Edgar, then maybe someday...

"Let's keep moving," I demand, "before things get any worse."

She helps me to my feet. I gaze into her, soft but strong blue eyes. They fill me with the will to continue, to stop Edgar from harming this world, but they also remind me of her power. She could easily take me in a fight if I didn't have these souls. However, I do, so I'm on a whole other level. We continue together towards Edgar...
