The Hitch

I'll probably go on over to Leon's house to tell him, cause Tammy - that's Leon's woman - she likes me better'n she likes him. Plus, she moonlights as a mud pit wrestler down at Roy's on Saturday nights; so in case things get fractious, I can hide behind her.

Here's how I think it's gonna go down.

"Hey, Leon... how's it go'n?"

"Hey girl! What are you do'n all the way out here? ... Tammy's in the house."

"Well Sir, Leon, I'll tell you... didn't come to see Tammy... guess I came to see you."

"HEY, TAMMY, COME ON OUT.. GOT COMP'NY!

Do me a favor and hand me that wrench."

"Fore I hand you a wrench, Leon, seems like I ought to tell you somethin....hi, Tammy! Good to see you!"

"Hey Missy!... glad you stopped by... I have some extra collards... if you want em... I was gonna drive over to your place this even'n."

"Thanks, Tammy, that'll be real nice... I didn't have good luck with greens, this year."

"Secret is bowls of flat beer to keep the slugs out... so what's on your mind?"

"Well, I just wanted to let Leon know I was real real sorry, but the hitch he let me borrow is out of commission."

"Aw, honeybee, he ain't gonna be mad... are you Leon? "

"No, I ain't mad at all!... That hitch was old and I probly shoulda replaced it last year.... Now don't you worry bout it one minute more... I'll drive over tomorrow and pick up the wagon."

"Well...Leon... that wagon was on the hitch when it got kinda hung up... "

"That's ok, honey, just tell me where the wagon is. Tammy can drive me over so I can pick up my truck and put the wagon back on it with a new hitch. By the way... did the hitch crack? Is that how it broke?"

"Well Sir, not 'xactly... Fred says there's a big ol' bull gator sit'n right on top of the thing... just like it's a throne or somethin!"

"A gator! where?"

"Seems like the gator climbed on the hitch after the dang wagon came to a stop... under the lake."

"UNDER?... UNDER THE LAKE!!!... WHERE'S MY TRUCK? "

"Now Leon... if you think bout this... it's really kinda funny... specially since that ol truck of yours was in reverse... "
