Chapter 32: Another's View

Hmm.. Been a really long time since I did a different POV. So .. Here you go.

I pat Galênê's neck as I passed her, my eyes concentrated on the two people and their dragons in front of me. I crossed my arms over my chest and studied them with cool eyes. "Well?"

One of them I know, Ruth, cleared her throat. "Sir, I'm afraid that the one you were desiring for us to reach was .. unreachable." Her hands clasped together in front of her, her fierce brown eyes meeting mine bravely as she tilted her chin up to show no fear. "I'm sorry."

I admired Ruth's bravery, I will admit that. Not many have the courage to look at me in the eye when they have bad news such as this. I pursed my lips and rubbed my face, letting out a sigh for a long moment. "Okay," I said in a slightly irritated voice, "then why are you covered in blood? Were you two injured?"

Thorn, the other one, shook his head. "No, sir. This isn't our blood.." I watched as his lips quirked up into a dark smirk. "We didn't get a hold of the one you wanted, but we got to her sister.."

I narrowed my eyes for a long moment, remembering Faye's sister. She had been the one I had kidnapped a while back, promising her to a demon called Arch I believe. But it ended up failing, because the bitch got away when that demon let her out.

"And?" I pressed, staring at them both intently. "Is she alive..dead..?"

"We do not know. Other's came to her aid before we could properly finish her off, but she could be alive or dead. We are not quite sure at the moment." Thorn cocked his head at me, his eyes seeming to glow in the dim lighting. "What are you thinking, brother?"

I turned back to Galênê and looked up at her, reaching my mind out to hers. She lowered her snowy white head and pressed her nose to my shoulder. "What is it?" she murmured softly.

"How would you feel about meeting your siblings?" I asked her, running my hand down her sleek white neck to comfort myself.

Galênê lifted her head from my shoulder, a wicked gleam boiling in her eye and her upper lip curling back. "Oh, what a pleasant meeting it would be if I were to meet by dear siblings." Her tail whipped around smoothly, her nostrils flaring. "They won't even know what is coming their way, will they?"

I could feel my dragon's emotions raging with fury, eagerness, and bloodlust. Galênê had a hatred for her own kind, the crystal dragons, because of her past. Even though it was against the law of the dragons, she was neglected when she hatched. Her surrogate mother had incubated her so she wouldn't break the law, but once she was able to fly and use her teeth and claws .. Poor Galênê was left to fend for herself.

"I suspect not," I replied quietly out loud, watching as Galênê turned around and glared ahead of her. I turned back to the two people. "Anything else we should know?"

Thorn and Ruth both shook their heads. "No, sir, just that the girl might be easier to get to now that we've weakened her sister. Her guard might not be up."

"Maybe not her guard, but certainly everyone close to her will be very protective.. This might be a bit harder," I noted, rubbing my chin and escaping a sigh from my mouth as I ran a hand through my messy hair.

"We're sorry, Sir, we didn't think-" Ruth started, but I held up a hand.

"No, you also gave me a strong advantage. You both have earned a rest," I told the two, nodding at them. "Go back to the house and get some sleep. Send me two others when you get there, will you?"

Ruth and Thorn nodded and said their goodbyes before flying off on their dragons. I turned back to Galênê and stated quietly to her, "Sooner or later, we'll be back out and getting our revenge."

Yes, this is short. But that's the purpose.

Now, I have a book related question!

How would you guys like a short story, like the Hidden One's Journey, based off Galênê?

TELL ME YOUR THOUGHTS IN THE COMMENTS!
