"There's absolutely no way I'm letting you go!" Jackson, my husband, said, backing me up against my bedroom door. His hand shut the door and he pressed against me, looking down at me with dark eyes.

"Jackson this is important." I look up at him with begging eyes. "If Lucy's parents are hiding something terrible like Amanda said, then it's up to us to figure it out."

"Up to them," Jackson growled, pressing closer to me posessively. "This is their problem, Faye. You are not involved with their family."

"I was involved since the moment I was born," I protest, trying to move away from him. That only caused him to press even more close.

"Digging yourself deeper won't help," he replied, closing his eyes for a moment. "There's not a chance I'll let you go alone with them."

"You don't trust Lucy, I take it?" I countered, eyes narrowing. I crossed my arms and glared up at him.

"I never said that, did I?" he hissed, his face only inches from mine. "It's not her I don't trust!"

"What other choice do I have Jackson?" I demand, pushing his chest. This time, he backs up and lets me out of his grasp. I walk to the other side of the bedroom, staring out the window. "Jackson, this could be something that either ends us or saves us."

Jackson frowned at me, crossing his arms. "And why can't someone else handle it? Why is it always you that's in danger?"

"If I knew, I would tell you," I reply dryly, looking out the window again. "But nobody but you and Quince know about this. This is why I told you, so you'd understand."

"But it didn't turn out as you hoped," he concludes thoughtfully.

"No," I agreed, "it didn't. But in a way, I'm not surprised."

"Why not?" He raised an eyebrow.

"Because you're more stubborn than an elephant," I told him, smirking a little. "And too proud to admit I'm right."

He scowls at me. "You aren't right. And you're not going."

I walk over to him. "What if you came?"

He furrowed his eyebrows, considering it. "Hmm."

I brush my hands down his shoulders swiftly, smiling flirtasiously. "We wouldn't mind having you along."

He groans. "Sometimes I truly do not like you."

I smirk. "That's a lie, we both no it."

"Be quiet, Faye."

I laughed loudly. "See. You're too proud to admit you can't not like me."

"That's not true," he protests.

"Prove it," I challenge, blinking innocently.

He groans in annoyance. "Faye, I like you. A lot."

"Mhmm," I murmur. "Not good enough."

He glared at me playfully. "How must I prove it?"

I smirk, grabbing the collar of his shirt and pulling it towards me. "Show me."

"Leto?" I searched around for my dragon, Leto, who was the only Crystal Dragon known until Lucy's dragon, Klemes came into the picture.

And, of course, Leto and Klemes are siblings. There were only two Crystals in the world before Leto was hatched, so it only means that the two were mates and laid eggs.

"Oh!" I gasp as Leto darts past me through the grass at an amazing speed before shooting back up in the air sharply. She did a upside down loop through the clouds before landing.

I smirked at her. "Show off."

She folds her wings, walking over to me. "I am not a show off, I was just showing off my new move!"

"That would make you a show off."

She huffed at me and plopped down on her belly, sunning herself. "Go away."

"Rude much?" I joke, smiling.

She huffs at me again, yawning and blinking her eyes sleepily. Leto had been spending so much time with her long lost brother that she barely doesn't sleep much anymore. It's great to see her so happy now that she feels she's no longer alone. Even though she was never alone, really.

I did feel sorry for Leto, though, because this is her only way for her to know that she has other ones like her out there and yet she can't reach them.

She growled playfully at me and stalks towards me, her tail dragging behind her. Her eyes had a playful glint inside of them.

"What are you doing?" I asked her suspiciously.

She snorts, continuing to walk towards me until she was face to face with me. She literally had to bend her neck down to be face to face with me. She blew a thing of fresh smoke in my face. I coughed, waving my hand in front of my face. "What was that for?"

"Because I can," she replied, snorting again.

"You're so annoying," I told her, rolling my eyes and playfully shoving her neck.

"Am not!"

We both chuckled and fell into a comfortable silence. Until I had to break it. "Leto."

"Yes, little one?" she asked, craning her neck again and tilting her neck at me curiously.

"I have to tell you something, and you may not like it.."

I heard her shift slightly so that she was closer to me. "Alright. What is it?"

"Keep an open mind okay?"

"I'll try."

I take a deep breath and begin to tell her everything that went on, and she listened. But as the story continued, she seemed to get more frustrated. By the time I was done she didn't look very happy at all.

"And you think it's a good idea to go?" she demanded, tail swishing across the ground.

"What other choice do I have, Leto?" I ask tiredly, rubbing my eyes. "There's something not right about Lucy's parents."

"But it's not your responsibility,"  Leto retorted angrily, claws digging into the ground. The dragon's eyes flashed. "You're putting yourself in danger by going."

" And what about my friends, Leto?" I reply, feeling angered myself. Why was she all of a sudden angry with me? She's never reacted like this before. "You think it's okay for me to let them go by themselves?"

"If it means keeping you alive, yes," she growled. Her lips curled back slightly, revealing her sharp white teeth. "Your life is my priority, Faye."

"Lucy is your brother's rider!" I pointed out, standing up and glaring down at her, pursing my lips. "Lucy's going, and I don't want her hurt!"

"I am not Lucy's rider," Leto snapped, standing as well. Her muscles tensed and her wings opened slightly. "She is not the one I worry for in this situation."

"Why can't you trust me? Leto, I've been fine before-"

She snapped her jaws and roared at me, beginning to stomp around me, "Fine? FINE? You ignorant girl! You have not been fine before! I have failed to keep you safe twice before, and I will not fail this time!"

"I won't be hurt, Leto!" I snarl back, glaring at her as she stalked around me in circles. "You're not being very helpful right now! I came to you, hoping you would understand!"

"UNDERSTAND?" she roared, flashing her wings. Her eyes blazed like ice blue fire, angry. "How could you possibly think I would be so relenting in this situation? You are walking into the death trap itself, you foolish girl!"

I bit my lip to keep myself from crying. Leto and I have never had a fight before, this was all new to me. "So you aren't going to support me?"

"No," she growled, turning away. "You are on your own."

With that she flew off. I turn and run to the house, tears in my eyes.

-----

I basically had to rewrite the fight scene between Leto and Faye because Wattpad deleted it. >.<
