Chapter 12
Unwinding at the Hotel
After the intensity of RAW, the four made their way back to the hotel, eager to leave behind the chaos of the night. Chris and Logan, though still wired from the adrenaline, were starting to feel the weight of exhaustion settle in. The Shield had pushed them to their limits, and while the confrontation had left them more determined than ever, it had also left them drained.
The ride back was filled with quiet conversation, with Nikki and Maryse occasionally exchanging knowing glances. As they stepped off the elevator and walked down the hall to their suite, Nikki nudged Chris with her shoulder, a playful smile on her lips.
“You two look like you could use some serious R&R,” she remarked, her tone light but with a hint of suggestion.
Maryse nodded in agreement, her eyes gleaming with mischief as she glanced over at Logan. “And we’re just the people to help with that.”
Chris and Logan exchanged a quick look, both of them sensing that Nikki and Maryse had something up their sleeves. But before they could even begin to ask, Nikki was already pushing open the door to the suite, gesturing for them to follow.
The suite was luxurious, with a spacious layout that included a living area, a large bed, and an en-suite bathroom. The soft lighting gave the room a warm, inviting glow — a stark contrast to the harsh lights of the arena. Chris and Logan dropped their bags by the door, already feeling some of the tension ease just from being away from the noise and chaos of the night.
Nikki wasted no time, taking Chris by the hand and leading him over to one of the plush armchairs by the window. “Sit,” she commanded, though her tone was more playful than strict. “You’ve been carrying around way too much tension tonight.”
Chris, too tired to argue, complied, sinking into the chair with a deep sigh. “You’re not wrong,” he admitted, rolling his shoulders to try and work out some of the stiffness.
Maryse, meanwhile, was guiding Logan over to the bed, her hands already on his shoulders. “Come on, Logan. I can see how tight you are just from looking at you.”
Logan couldn’t help but smirk at her choice of words, but he didn’t resist as he sat down on the edge of the bed. “I guess a massage couldn’t hurt,” he conceded, though his tone held a hint of amusement.
Nikki shot a glance over at Maryse, and the two women shared a conspiratorial smile. They had this planned out perfectly.
As Nikki began massaging Chris’s shoulders, her fingers firm yet gentle, she leaned in closer, her voice dropping to a teasing whisper. “You know, Chris, you don’t always have to be the strong, silent type. It’s okay to let go sometimes.”
Chris closed his eyes, the tension in his muscles slowly easing under her touch. “Maybe,” he murmured, his voice low and relaxed. “But it’s not that easy.”
Nikki chuckled softly, her hands continuing their work. “Well, I think we’re going to have to change that.”
Maryse, not to be outdone, was doing her best to get Logan to relax. Her hands moved expertly over his back, her touch firm but soothing. “You know,” she began, her voice laced with playful sarcasm, “for someone who’s always so focused in the ring, you’re pretty wound up outside of it.”
Logan let out a low chuckle, his usual guarded demeanor starting to slip away. “It’s called being prepared,” he quipped, though there was a noticeable softness in his tone.
Maryse leaned in closer, her breath warm against his ear. “Or maybe you’re just not used to letting someone else take control.”
Logan’s smirk widened, but he didn’t respond immediately. Instead, he let himself enjoy the moment, the warmth of her breath sending a shiver down his spine. “You might be onto something there,” he finally replied, his voice softer now.
Nikki, catching the exchange out of the corner of her eye, decided to up the ante. She shifted slightly, her hands moving lower to Chris’s arms as she leaned in close enough for her breath to tickle his neck. “You know, Chris,” she whispered, “you’re kind of hot when you’re not brooding all the time.”
Chris opened one eye, his lips curving into a half-smile. “Just kind of?”
Nikki giggled, her fingers teasingly brushing over his biceps. “Okay, maybe more than just kind of.”
Not wanting to be left out, Maryse decided to take things up a notch as well. She moved around to face Logan, her hands trailing down his chest as she looked up at him with a playful glint in her eyes. “You know, Logan, you’ve got this whole strong and silent thing going, but I think there’s a lot more to you than that.”
Logan raised an eyebrow, intrigued by her sudden shift. “Is that so?”
Maryse nodded, her hands resting on his chest as she leaned in, her lips just inches from his. “Definitely. But maybe I should find out for myself.”
Logan’s usual stoicism faltered slightly as he felt her breath on his lips, the tension between them building. “Maybe you should,” he replied, his voice low and challenging.
The teasing and flirting continued, with Nikki and Maryse expertly using their charm to draw Chris and Logan out of their usual tough-guy personas. The brothers, for their part, allowed themselves to be drawn in, their usual defenses slowly crumbling in the face of the women’s playful advances.
As the massages turned into more casual touches and lingering looks, it became clear that the connection between the four of them was growing stronger. There was a natural chemistry that went beyond the usual camaraderie, a bond that was built on trust, respect, and an undeniable attraction.
Nikki, seeing the way Chris was finally starting to relax, decided to push things just a little further. She leaned in close, her lips brushing against his ear as she whispered, “You know, if you ever need to unwind like this again, I’m more than happy to help.”
Chris turned his head slightly, his eyes locking with hers as he grinned. “I’ll hold you to that.”
Maryse, not wanting to be outdone, leaned in even closer to Logan, her lips barely grazing his as she whispered, “I think you and I could have a lot of fun together, Logan. You just need to let go.”
Logan, feeling the tension in the room shift to something more charged, met her gaze with a smirk. “I think you might be right.”
The rest of the evening was filled with playful banter, teasing touches, and an undercurrent of something deeper. The four of them had found a way to connect beyond the ring, beyond the personas they portrayed to the world. It was a connection that was real, raw, and undeniably powerful.
As the night went on and the teasing turned into comfortable conversation, there was a sense of peace that settled over the room. The chaos of the WWE world seemed far away now, and for the first time in a long while, Chris and Logan allowed themselves to fully enjoy the moment with Nikki and Maryse.
And as they finally drifted off to sleep, the city lights casting a soft glow through the curtains, there was a shared understanding between them all — that whatever battles lay ahead, they would face them together, with a bond that was stronger than anything The Shield could throw at them.
To be continued…
