Chapter 11

Backstage Fallout

As RAW cut to a commercial, the camera followed Chris and Logan as they made their way back up the ramp, still riding the adrenaline from their confrontation with The Shield. The crowd's chants echoed through the arena, but their focus was already shifting. Their hearts were still pounding, but they knew they had to keep their heads clear. This was far from over.

Backstage, the atmosphere was tense. The chaos that had erupted in the ring was still fresh in everyone’s minds. Crew members scrambled to reset, and producers huddled to discuss the next steps for the show. But amid the organized chaos, Chris and Logan moved with purpose, their expressions hard as they walked through the corridors, shoulders squared and eyes steely.

Nikki Bella and Maryse were waiting for them just past the curtain, concern written all over their faces. As soon as Chris and Logan emerged, Nikki and Maryse rushed over, their eyes scanning the brothers for injuries.

“Are you guys okay?” Nikki asked, her voice tinged with worry as she reached out to touch Chris’s arm. She could see the tension in his posture, the barely contained anger still simmering beneath the surface.

Chris nodded, though his expression remained serious. “We’re fine. Just… pissed off.” He took a deep breath, trying to shake off the lingering frustration from the brawl. “This thing with The Shield is getting out of control. They want a fight? They’re gonna get one.”

Logan was still catching his breath, his mind racing as he replayed the events of the match in his head. “They’re trying to prove a point,” he muttered, more to himself than anyone else. “But so are we. They’re not taking those titles from us.”

Maryse, ever composed, placed a hand on Logan’s shoulder. “You both fought like hell out there. But you need to keep your heads in the game. The Shield wants to get inside your heads, to make you lose focus. Don’t let them.”

Logan met her gaze, the fire in his eyes still burning. “They won’t. This is just the beginning.”

Nikki glanced between the two brothers, her own emotions a mix of pride and concern. She’d seen this kind of intensity before, and she knew how much Chris and Logan had at stake. But she also knew the toll this kind of rivalry could take on them.

“Just promise me you’ll be careful,” Nikki said, her voice softening as she looked up at Chris. “I know you two can handle yourselves, but The Shield doesn’t play fair. They’ll do whatever it takes to win.”

Chris’s expression softened as he looked at her, the tension in his shoulders easing just a bit. “I know. But we’re ready for them, Nikki. We have to be.”

Maryse nodded, her gaze shifting to Logan. “And we’ll be right here with you. Whatever happens, you’re not going through this alone.”

Logan looked between Nikki and Maryse, a small but genuine smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. It was moments like this, surrounded by people who truly had their backs, that reminded him why they did what they did. The Shield might have had the numbers advantage, but Chris and Logan had something just as powerful — loyalty, friendship, and the unshakeable bond between them and the women who supported them.

“We appreciate it,” Logan said, his voice sincere. “Having you two in our corner means more than you know.”

Nikki and Maryse both smiled, the tension in the air finally beginning to dissipate. The brothers were strong, and with their support, they were even stronger.

As the four of them stood together, a sense of calm began to settle over the group, the storm of emotions slowly easing. But even as they tried to relax, the looming threat of The Shield was never far from their minds.

“So, what’s the plan now?” Maryse asked, her eyes moving between Chris and Logan. “You know The Shield won’t let this go.”

Chris exhaled sharply, running a hand through his damp hair. “We stay ready. We can’t afford to let our guard down, not even for a second. But we’re not going to let them dictate our every move. We’ll be smart about this.”

Logan nodded in agreement. “We’ll train harder, plan better. And when the time comes, we’ll take them down on our terms. They won’t see us coming.”

Nikki admired the resolve in their voices, but she couldn’t help the flutter of anxiety that settled in her chest. She knew how dangerous The Shield could be, and the thought of Chris and Logan getting caught up in something bigger than a simple rivalry worried her.

“Just… promise me you won’t do anything reckless,” Nikki said, her voice betraying her concern. “You both mean too much to me to see you get hurt over this.”

Chris’s gaze softened as he looked at her, and he reached out to gently take her hand. “We won’t. I promise. We’ll handle this, Nikki. But we’re not going to back down, either.”

Logan, sensing the seriousness of the moment, looked at Maryse and nodded. “We’ll be careful. But we’ve got a fight to win, and we’re not going to stop until The Shield is put in their place.”

Maryse smiled, her confidence in them unwavering. “Then you’ve got this. And like I said, we’ll be right there with you.”

Chris squeezed Nikki’s hand, a silent promise passing between them. They had each other’s backs, and with the support of Nikki and Maryse, he felt more determined than ever. The Shield might have started this war, but Chris and Logan were going to finish it.

“Let’s get out of here,” Chris said finally, glancing at Logan. “We’ve got some planning to do.”

Logan nodded, his eyes sharp with focus. “Yeah. And next time, we’ll be ready for whatever they throw at us.”

As the four of them made their way down the corridor, the tension of the night slowly fading into the background, there was a shared sense of resolve among them. The Shield had tried to intimidate Chris and Logan, but all they’d done was fuel their determination.

Together, they were stronger. And together, they were going to take The Shield down.

To be continued…
