"Okay so Nyla so tell me how you've been feeling around people lately?"

Nyla layed on the couch comfortably.

"I'm only comfortable around the omegas... I haven't been around any pack members lately and I'm not really comfortable around men." Nyla then smiled a bit when she thought about Carson. "Just only a few."

"Mhm that's good... nyla do you think you'll be able to take up your job again?"

Nyla glanced away from the ceiling and towards Darci who looked at her with concerned.

"It says the pack situation has been dire the past week and a half. The packs needs all its pillars."

Nyla scoffs as she turned back to staring at the wall. "So you want me to consider going back to work?"

"Actually, I was thinking the opposite." Darci placed her pen and notebook down to the side and stared at Nyla. "It's true, you are one of the pillars of this pack we need desperately at the moment but I don't think you should work."

Nyla sat up confused. "What?"

"I mean, not at the moment. You've just been through one of the worst things that can happen to a woman. Yes the pack needs there Beta female."

Darci held Nyla's hand with a soft smile on her face.

"But what you need is you. Don't put yourself over anyone else at the moment. So if you aren't ready to get back out then don't force yourself. You are the priority the pack can wait."

Nyla felt the heaviness in her heart seem to melt. She was worried about that situation of returning but with someone telling her that it's her own choice she feels more assured.

"Thank you."

Darci gave another smiled then took a deep breath. "Alright then. Let's finish the session. Now what's your bad habits?"

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Okay, I can do this."
Nyla took a deep breath as she looked down at her outfit. A long green sleeved dress and simple black boots.
Nyla, finally after two weeks is going to be attending the pack meeting. She genuinely didn't want to enter but she had to. Staying holed up in the therapy sessions or staying in the house isn't going to help her as much as she wants it to. She has her responsibilities she can't push aside easily.
"Alright then, let's go."
"What did they say now?"
"They still want the territory?"
"Is it really that important though? Why land of all things?!"
"Those packs are so damn hard headed but we can't risk offending so many of them at once."
Creeak.
"We should give them those lands."
The people in the room turned their heads to see Nyla walking into the room calmly. Nyla glanced around the room to see Yash, Wayne, Lilith, Johnathan, and Greea staring at her in a mixture of unexpected surprise.
Yash sat up in his seat at the sight of her."Nyla! We weren't expecting you here."
Nyla glanced at him faintly. "I know."
I honestly didn't even want to be here.
Nyla glanced at the chairs surrounding the table.
"Is my chair still here?"
Wayne grabbed a chair and placed it right next to him, in-between him and Yash.
"Your seat is ri-
Nyla glanced at Yash who glanced at her secretly.
"No thank you I'll sit somewhere else."
"But you always sit her-
"Well, sometimes things needs to change." Nyla then smiled at everyone else at the table ignoring the awkward looks of everyone in the room.
"Now, about those lands. We should give them up."
Johnathan spoke up. "We can't give them up."
"And why's that? Isn't it just land?"
"Those are important lands we can't give those up so easily."
"Well we might have to Wayne if we want this pack to avoid war."
"Nyla those lands those packs are asking for aren't just little territories. We need those lands to harvest and prepare for the winter. Especially around this time around winter's going to be harsh! We need to preserve every little bit of land we have!"
Nyla tilted her head at her husband. "Wayne, we are this close- " she closed her index and thumb finger close to each other. "-to entering war with not one, not two but five other packs! Not to mention our OWN pack is suffering casualties so that's six packs we have to take care of! We are literally at the disadvantage here we are in no rights right now to be trying to hold onto anything!"
"Exactly the reason why we can't give up those lands! We need them to restore our pack!"
"Territory can be found but the losses outweigh dirt that can be exchanged!"
"This will make our pack much smaller Nyla!"
"The strength of a pack isn't by it's Territory but it's unity. The pack right now doesn't have that!"
"And they won't have both If we sell off those lands!"
"I told you, we'll get it back!!"
Only then did Nyla realized the others in the meeting hadn't spoken a word and just stared at the dispute between husband and wife.
Wayne sat down in his chair boiling in frustration. "Okay, then what do you suppose we do after we hand over those lands? Where will we hunt? That's our only hunting territory !"
"We can share the land."
Her response even had Greea looking at her in confusion. "How do you share land you are supposed to be exchanging?"
"We'll have the land managed by the werewolf council. Request the land be temporarily neutral until after the winter. Then the lands fully belong to thos packs. By after winter we'd figure out our new hunting grounds."
Johnathan snapped his fingers in realization. "Aye isn't there that forest we never used for hunting? The Rose Forest?"
The Rose Forest, is as it implies, a forest full of rose. It has alot of prey but the reason it's not used is because the Rose vines are strong and seem never endless. Not many packs can make it forward before turning back from the frustration of never ending vines. Alot of times many packs just decided to never use it but for sight seeing. Because no pack had claimed it it's considered a neutral forest.
"If we can claim that forest we'll be able to feed the pack even after winter. "
"But no pack ever ventured in there."
Nyla shrugged as she twirled a bit in her chair. "Then, we'll have to be the first ones."
A small sound of silence filled the room as everyone noticed this was a possibility to actually gain alot more territory and resources than before.
Nyla yawned dramtically at her husband. "You should be thanking me you know."
Wayne mumbled annoyedly.
"Well thank you so much for your help."
Nyla returned the sarcasm with her own. "You are most certainly welcome."
She slammed the door behind her leaving an awkward room. Johnathan on the other hand rarely opened his mouth during the meeting and the whole time was watching Yale's actions. How'd he'd side eye Nyla and secretly ogle her body.
So it's true... really man? Disgusting.
Yash saw Johnathan silently shaking his head.
"What's wrong Gamma Davis?"
Johnathan stared at him for a moment but broke into a smile.
"I'm just happy to be the fool who gotta train countless of men to venture into an unknown forest."
Lilith snickered. "Well what a lucky fool you are."
"Hey!" He pinched her elbow causing her to growl and pull on his small beard.
The rest of the people in the room watched the two of them scuffle while Wayne was lost in thought.
Could it really work? This will also be an opportunity to investigate what happened that night.
"Have you been taking your anti depression pills?"
Nyla nodded as she sat on the park bench."Yep. It really helped me during the meeting today. Felt like I was going through an adreline rush."
"Don't take too much you know. We don't need a Beta Female ready to do a marathon."
Nyla rolled her eyes at Carson. "Please, I'm too big for that- Ouch!"
Carson thumped her forhead. "You aren't too big for anything. "
"I don't like marathons though. They are too sweaty."
"Don't you sweat when you ar-
Nyla pinched his nose playfully. "Oh shut up!"
Carson laughed at her antics as he looked up at the sunny sky.
"How's your eye?"
Nyla subconsciously touched her black left eye. She covered it with makeup and the swelling went down but still she can feel a slight throbbing pain from it.
"It feels uncomfortable."
Carson grabbed a wipe and gently rubbed the eye makeup off her eye. Afterwards he then made sure to softly press around the area.
"The swelling is going down a bit that I can see. Your wolf is starting to seem to accept the healing process which is really good." He then threw the wipe in a nearby trash and continued. "Your eye will still be and look uncomfortable and I don't advice using makeup because It'll heal better without outside chemicals interfering with the process bu-
Carson ended up hearing light laughter. He looked up to see Nyla with her half bruised eye exposed laughing at him freely.
"You are such a chatterbox."
Carson was taken aback but smiled sheepishly.
"I know it's annoying. Doctor habits"
Nyla shook her head as she layed her head on his shoulder.
"No. I think a chatterbox is an interesting person. They always got something to say on their mind."
Nyla turned her resting head to look at him slightly.
"And I like that my doctor tells me all I need to know. At least you are open."
Carson looked down at her and found himself smiling.
"Hmm. What an interesting paitent I have."
"I know and you'll never find another like me."
"Thankfully."
Carson felt a tug on his short blond hair.
"What was that?"
