Chapter Five
Chapter Five: Freedom With A Side Of Revenge!
Kratos' POV
I charged through every monster that Tartarus sent my way. Any monster foolish enough to attack me was killed nice and slow.
'Hellhounds, I want you to scout out the area ahead. I want to know what kind of Monsters we are going to kill' I ordered the Hellhounds that were near me.
A pure Dark Red Hellhound lead the small pack ahead, faithfully following my orders. I smiled. They may not be Spartans, but they were loyal and fearless, just like my Spartans.
I took this time to sit down and relax a bit. To tell the truth, I can't wait to kill something. I have an itch that I can't control. I snapped out of my thoughts as I saw a flash of light behind me.
I turned expecting the Gods to have sensed me break out of my Prison but was shocked beyond words to at what I saw. I felt my eyes begin to water, a lone tear escaping and traveling down my cheek.
'My love, I've missed you so much!' I whispered as I pulled her into a passionate hug. Artemis hugged me just as tightly before pulling away. I saw a huge smile form on her beautiful face.
'I also brought a special someone with me' She said smiling happily.
I raised an eyebrow just as a kid stepped into view. He had dark messy hair. His skin had a beach tan, and his eyes were a sea green with a sparkle in them. My breath hitched once I saw through the mist and deceptions.
'My s-son!' I stammered as I ran to my son and hugged him tightly for the very first time. Tears rolled freely down my face, creating small rivers flowing from my eyes down to my chin.
'My son, words cannot express the happiness I am feeling right now!' I whispered into my son's ear.
Perseus hugged me back just as tightly, tears flowing down his face as well.
'Father' Perseus said pulling away from me and looking me in the eye.
I gave him a warm smile. 'My family is now complete' I said warmly as Artemis came to my side and wrapped her arm around my waist. I smiled at her as I conjured up some chairs for us three so we can catch up.
'So my son, what have you been up to?' I ask once we settled in, trying to learn as much as I can about my son.
Perseus looked around nervously. 'Oh not much father' He stammered.
Artemis rolled her eyes. 'Not much? Son you need to accept the things you have done. Taking a little credit when you have earned it is not a bad thing' Artemis told Percy in a scolding voice.
I smiled at that. 'Oh I'm sure you have done quite a bit. Now spill it young man!' I said looking at him expectantly.
Percy sighed. 'Alright. Let's see, when I first got to camp HalfBlood I was attacked by the Minatour, I killed it with his own horn. I didn't even know how to fight or anything at the time so it was an accomplishment. Before that I killed another monster who was actually a very mean teacher. Then an Ares girl tried to dump my head in a toilet the same day I got to camp, I kinda made the water pipes in the bathroom explode, soaking her in toilet water' Percy started.
I looked at my son proudly before I started laughing when he told me about the Ares girl. 'Now that's my boy! Good job!' I said still laughing.
Percy laughed too. 'Yeah, then after that I got my first quest to get Zeus' thunderbolt. I also beat Ares in a duel!' He said grinning.
My eyes widened in shock before looking at my son with great pride. 'My son, already beating up the person I hate the most! You make me so proud my son!' I praised my son, placing a hand on his shoulder.
Percy looked up at me with a smile on his face. 'Hey dad, can we ever be a family again? I don't want to go back to Camp HalfBlood or Sally's Apartment. I want to be with you and mom' Percy asked.
I gave him a smile. 'Son, soon we will be together and nothing or no one will ever separate us again!' I said reassuringly.
'I was in the process of fighting my way out of Tartarus. I'm sure you all heard the growls of the Hellhounds right?' I asked.
'Yes, I have only heard that once and that was when they crowned a new King Of All Hellhounds' Artemis said looking concerned.
I smiled. 'Yeah, I killed the old King Of All Hellhounds. I am now their new king and I plan on getting out of this Hellhole' I admitted with a shrug.
My son looked at me wide eyes. 'You killed the King Of All Hellhounds?? The King is rumored to be 100ft tall!' Percy exclaimed in disbelief.
I laughed. 'Yes those rumors were true. But I still killed it. It was easy actually, all I did was snap its neck' I said smirking.
Artemis and Percy looked shocked until their expressions turned into happy smiles. 'Well at least I don't have to worry about Hellhounds attacking my hunters' Artemis said.
Percy nodded. 'Yeah, I hate being chased by Hellhounds!' Percy piped in.
I laughed. 'Yes, they won't trouble you any longer. I can't say the same about the Gods and their filthy spawns though' I admitted.
'You are going to kill them?' Perseus asked wide eyed.
'They don't deserve to live, my son. They will betray you just as they betrayed me. I was loyal, I was their best warrior, the one that can defy fate and survive. Yet they still betrayed me, Zeus actually stabbed me, telling me that I was too powerful and that I often went on a rampage of destruction. Like seriously, I'm a frickin God! The God of War to be more specific, Of course I'm going to be powerful!' I said irritated at the memories.
'And in my defence, every time I went on a Killing Rampage, I never killed any innocents! All I killed were monsters and a few buildings, but the buildings weren't my fault!' I said defensively.
Artemis laughed lightly. 'It's true Percy. The gods had no valid reason to betray Kratos. He served us faithfully, even before he was a god. Though back then he was scary and not the same man you see before you, but he changed for the better' Artemis said assuringly to Percy.
Percy smiled. 'I know he isn't the same as he was before, and I'm happy about that. And I'm proud to be your son' Percy stated firmly, pride clear in his eyes.
My heart, at that moment, skipped multiple beats as I looked at my son in pure happiness. Not only do I have the most beautiful woman as my wife, but I also have the worlds greatest son! I'm the worlds happiest man alive! Well actually I'm the happiest god alive in Tartarus, not the world but still!
I got up and pulled my son into a father/son hug which turned into an emotional Family Hug. I didn't mind getting all emotional, family does that to a man. Being a War God is no exception.
We all pulled away, out eyes red from all the emotional crying. But each of us had a huge smile plastered on our faces, and they seemed to be permanent. Well that is until my Hellhound scouting party returned.
'My lord, Tartarus has gathered a great Army of extreme numbers. There are also a Titan leading the Army. He is the Titan of destruction' The dark red furred Hellhound reported, bowing his head in respect.
I nodded. 'Good, I don't want to just walk out of here! Where is the fun in that?!' I asked with a grin on my face.
'Dad, can I fight with you?' Percy asked, eager to fight alongside me.
I smiled at my son. 'I'm sorry Perseus, but not right now. You need to return to Camp. I sense you have many great things to accomplish still. And this is my battle, or in my case, my warm up' I said grinning.
Percy frowned but quickly nodded his head in understanding. 'Ok dad, but I want to help you fight the Gods! I really hate Zeus' Percy said crossing his arms.
I laughed. 'And I really hate Ares! Don't worry son, you will have your chance to kick his ass, until then, behave and try not to injure too many campers. Your true powers will remain locked until I get out of here. I don't want the Gods thinking you are "Too powerful" even though you are more powerful than Zeus himself' I said proudly.
'I'm stronger than Zeus?' Percy asked bewildered.
I laughed. 'Of course you are! You are the son of the Greatest War God to ever live as well as the Greatest Hunter Goddess who kills the most dangerous monsters for a living! You aren't even a demigod, you are a god, and a damn good one at that' I stated with a proud smile on my face.
Percy and Artemis blushed at my statement as they both tried to hide it. I laughed lightly.
'Now go back to Camp. And remember son, I will always love and be proud of you' I told him, giving him a warm smile.
My son smiled at me before Artemis gave me a kiss and flashed out with Percy.
I turned around and faced my army of Hellhounds and smiled. 'Well my faithful Hellhounds, We gotta teach some monsters the true definition of Fear! They will respect you Hellhounds as well as Fear you like they should. For too long have they pushed you all around, but no more!' I yelled as the Hellhounds gave out a massive roar of approval.
I smiled and looked at a Hellhound to my right. 'You, what's your name?' I asked it.
'My name is Ms O'leary, my king' She replied, bowing deeply to me.
I nodded. 'I have a very important job for you, Ms O'leary. I'm sure you heard the entire conversation I had with Artemis and Perseus' I asked.
At her nod I continued. 'I care deeply for my son. And so, I charge you with the duty of guarding my son until I get out of here' I said.
I looked at Ms O'leary who looked shocked that I would task her with protecting my son.
'But my lord. I'm not strong enough to protect your son. Especially since every monster in the world wants to kill him. Perhaps Ken would be a better choice?' She asked nervously.
I chuckled. 'No, I want you to protect my son. I will give you half my blessing. It shall grant you great strength, speed and agility as well as immense Stamina. You will also be imbued with War Powers, making you unmatched in combat' I told the small Hellhound, who looked back up at me with determination.
She gave me a nod of acceptance and pride that I chose her. 'I won't let you down my king' She stated proudly, as she composed herself, lifting her head up high with pride.
I reached out and rested my hand on her forehead and gave her enough power to protect my son. She began to glow a dark red, as she began to grow in height. After several moments she stopped growing, at the height of 40ft. She let out a vicious growl before bowing to me.
'I thank you my king, for entrusting me with this mission. I won't let you down, I promise!' She vowed before shadow-traveling out of Tartarus.
I'm sure you are wondering how she shadow-travelled out of Tartarus. Or why I haven't flashed out. Well, the answer is simple. She wasn't reforming, she was just here. So she can come and go as she pleases until she dies and comes back here to reform.
I can't flash out of here because I was cast out and sentenced to Tartarus for all eternity. So, I have to get out of here the old fashion way, killing every monster that stands in my way, and kicking down the doors of death. Which is totally fine with me otherwise life would be kinda boring.
I turned to the rest of my Hellhounds, whom numbered in the thousands. 'Well, let's get killing!' I yelled as I turned and lead the way to the Doors Of Death.
Percy's POV
I was so happy after meeting my real father. Kratos really isn't the same person I've read about in history books. He is a man who's aura simply demands respect. I for one, love my father.
Mother flashed me right to inside Poseidon's Cabin. I sighed. Now that I know who my father really is, I don't really want to be inside the Poseidon cabin.
I lost my train of thought when I heard knocking on the door. I walked over and opened it to reveal Annabeth.
'There's been another Prophecy, and it involves us I think' She said looking out of breath.
I nod quickly and rush to the Big House where I'm sure all the Cabin Leaders are discussing the new Prophecy.
I went inside the meeting room and found Chiron and the Cabin Leaders sitting down. 'Chiron, what did I miss?' I asked taking a seat.
'A Great Prophecy has been issued Percy. It calls for Seven demigods to fight in a war' Chiron said grimly.
'So what was the Prophecy?' I asked.
Annabeth cleared her throat.
'Seven half-bloods shall answer the call,
To storm or fire, the world must fall,
An oath to keep with a final breath,
And foes bear arms to the Doors of Death' Annabeth recited the Prophecy.
I growled in annoyance. 'Why can't a Prophecy ever be simple like, go kill this, or go save that person, or go here?' I asked sarcastically.
This caused the campers to laugh. 'It wouldn't be a prophecy if it was that simple' My best friend Nico said making everyone jump.
'Dude, when did you get here?' Leo asked jumping from his seat.
Nico shrugged. 'Shadow travel has its perks' He said smirking.
I laughed lightly. I stretched and sunk into the chair. This was going to be a long meeting.
AUTHORS NOTE.
Hey guys, sorry if this chapter was boring. But this chapter was necessary.
Next chapter will get more into the Story, and if this story makes no sense compared to the Percy Jackson series, then that's good because I'm not following the books!
