Yumi said as her monster attacks her opponents' number, winning her the duel

Yumi: Did I...just win?

Yumi  asked in disbelief as her friends also watch on in disbelief

Saya: Did she?

Tori: She did

Tori confirmed before she, Saya, Lulu, Yuto, and Shayla started cheering for their friend

Aqua: I can't believe I lost

Aqua said and suddenly both she and Tori received a notification on their phones causing them to widen their eyes

Tori/Aqua: I gotta go

Both girls said as both girls took off in different directions. Tori friends soon caught up to her

Saya: Where are you off to in such a hurry?

Tori: To visit my friend that's in the hospital, like I do whenever I get the chance

Yumi: Why didn't you tell me about him?

Yumi asked as they neared the hospital

Tori: Because I like him and I don't want you to try and corrupt him with your idiocy

Tori said simply causing Yumi to stop in her place as the others enter the hospital

Astra: She's got you there.

Yumi's new spirit partner said causing Yumi to glare at her

Yumi: Shut up Astra

Yumi said causing Astra to giggle as she followed after Yumi. That finally caught up with the others who were talking with one of the doctors

Tori: Dr. how's Shadow holding up

Tori asked causing the male to smile

Dr: He's doing just fine. His burns have healed nicely. He'll have a few scars, but once he comes out of his coma I'll send him home. If you want before I go in there and remove his wrappings you girls can go in there and talk to him. He may not be able to feel anything, but he can hear aplenty

The Dr said as Tori nodded before she leads her friends to room 96. Opening the door, they immediately greeted to the sight of a sleeping Shadow with his shirt off and bandages wrapped around his torso. Which immediately made the girls blush a dark crimson. On the desk next to him was his deck with two Xyz's cards propped up. One was Fairy Cheer Girl and the other was Ice Beast Zerofyne.

Astra: Observation 2 this Shadow character is incredibly good looking.

Astra said her blue cheeks now a dark purple as Yumi just nodded in agreement as Tori quickly grabs a chair before pulling it up next to Shadow's bed

Tori: Hey, it's me again. I just heard the news. I promise you as soon as you get out of here I'm gonna set up a duel just for you. I'm glad that my Fairy Cheer Girl is doing her job in keeping a watching eye on you

Tori said as she leans over and kissed his cheek. Turning around she was immediately met with questioning looks

Yuto: Why did you give him one of your cards?

Yuto asked causing Tori to smile as a tiny blush appears on her face

Tori: I read online somewhere that if you really like someone then you'll give them your favorite card. Plus it'll mean he'll always have a part of me with him. Luckily I had a spare Fairy Cheer Girl

Tori said causing to agree that was a good idea. Suddenly Yumi saw Astra went over before placing Leviathan Dragon on top of his deck

Lulu: You mind if we do the same?

Tori: Go right ahead

Tori said as each girl smiles at that before walking over and put their card on the desk next to his deck face up. Saya gave him Little Fairy, Yuto gave him one of her dark rebellions, Yumi her Number 39, Shayla her raidraptor satellite canon and ultimate falcon, and Lulu her Lyrical Luscinia - Recite Starling. And when no one was looking, started talking to it

Lulu: Ok Starling, you are the thing to help Shadow whenever he's in trouble. No matter what it is or how dangerous it is, you are the very card that will remind him that no matter what happens I will be with him no matter what

Lulu whispers to it and suddenly her monster appears in front of her as a duel spirit before nodding her head causing Lulu to smile. Suddenly the doctor came in

Dr: If one of you girls wouldn't mind sitting him up so I can get his wrappings off?

The Dr. asked and immediately Lulu was beside Shadow. She then set him up, feeling up his abs and pissing the other girls off in the process, as the Dr. grabs the scissors then proceeded in taking off his wrappings. Underneath his bandages was a giant scar in the shape of a dragon. Lulu then sets him back down

Dr: Thank you miss obsidian. Now I leave you girls. Just remember that visiting hours are almost up

The Dr. said as he left. Lulu then looks at the card that was propped next to Tori's monster

Lulu: Who's card is this?

Rio: Mine

Rio said as everyone looks and saw the sister of Aqua sitting on the other side of the bed looking dejectedly into her hands

Tori: Oh hey Rio, I didn't see you there

Tori said causing the blue hair girl to wave her off

Rio: It's fine, just....wondering what to say to him after all this time

Shayla, who understands that she wishes to be alone, immediately started forcing the others out of the room. All except for a certain number girl who has Shadow in her sights

62: Finally back together with my husband at last

62 said as she flew towards Shadow at full speed, until- SMACK!- she slammed into some kind of a forcefield then slid down onto the floor. She then looks up at the forcefield when suddenly a message pops up

62: Hmm? What's this? " Conditions for returning to master: Only can reunite with him when he SUMMONS ME IN BATTLE!?! NO FAIR!

62 read each word pissing her off even more before pouting as she took off back to Yuto and Lulu. Once she left, Rio approaches Shadow's bed. She then brushed one of his black hairs out of his eyes just as a tear lands on his cheek

Rio: I'm so sorry. This is all my fault. I should've had a trap or something to negate that spell. But instead I just closed my eyes like some coward, while you jumped in front of and protected me from the flames. Like some sort of knight or guardian angel, you kept me and my sister out of danger ever since we met when were kids. I'm getting off track, I just wanna say I'm sorry. And that me and my sister are thankful for all you did for us

Rio said as she lean over and pressed her lips to his. After a few minutes she then pulls away before giggling

Rio: It's funny I've wanted to do that to you for the longest time and it for you being in a coma to do it. Don't worry when you wake up, and when I get the nerves to tell you, we'll do it right. Hmm, I wonder what you're dreaming about right now? I hope it's me

Rio giggles as she then leaves the room. Suddenly a girl with cat like features enters Shadow's room from the window. It was none other then Shadow's shy stalker, Cathy Katherine

(Without the cards, duel gazer, and her duel disk)

Kat: So they think they get the upper hand on me just because they gave him their favorite cards. Luckily I can give him this one that just appeared in my extra deck

She said as she puts the number 29 on top of his deck. She then climbs into the bed next to Shadow before laying her head on his chest, pulls the covers over the both of them, and drifted off to sleep to the gentle lullaby of his heart

In Shadow's mind

He was walking around heartland city. When he suddenly noticed a girl with long black hair, what looked liked to be shadows covering her body, and she was crying her eyes out in the shade of the tree. Walking over Shadow sat down next to her

Shadow: Are you alright little one?

Shadow asked startling the young girl. She turns to him revealing mismatch eyes before she started crying again

???: No, I'm lost. I brought someone back and I can't seem to find him

The girl said as Shadow laugh causing the girl to pout angrily

Shadow: Well this is my mind you won't find anyone else in here but me. Who exactly are you looking for?

Shadow asked as the girl looks dead at him

???: My Barian Emperor. You see I am but of fraction of a person named Don Thousand. And he has brought seven people from the past to become his emperors and to use them in order to take over the three worlds. But when he made me, after he was defeated by a girl from Astra world, I didn't want that. So I decided to revive person that was stronger than all his emperors combined to be my emperor. And that person is the legendary knight Critias

The girl said proudly as Shadow thought about it before looking down at his necklaces as a sudden thought enters his mind

Shadow: Well I never heard of anyone that goes by that name. But I can still help.

Shadow said causing the girl to look at him questionably as Shadow pulls down part of his shirt revealing some type of key and necklace which peaked the girl's interest

???: The Millennium key and necklace. This is perfect, with the Necklace I can see into the past and see who Critias is today

The girl said as she grabs the eye of the necklace as her different colored eyes glowed pure white along with Shadow's. After awhile both users eyes return to normal , the girl then smiles before jumping on Shadow to give him a hug

???: Critias! It's you! I have found you at last!

The girl said before realizing what kind of position she put themselves in. She quickly got off and immediately became a blushing stuttering mess

???: I-I-I mean Shadow I forgot that Critias is just a fake name you used in order to protect Atlantis

She said causing Shadow to chuckle

Shadow: Now who are you little one?

Shadow asked causing the girl to blush in embarrassment before searching her person. Getting madder every time she search someplace and it wasn't there. Before she smacks her head, she then reaches into her hair and pulls out several Xyz cards and then points to the one with darkness keeping it together

???: My card

She said as Shadow looks at the number card she pointed at before looking back at her

Shadow: 96? Yeah I think I'll just call you Mystic

96 puts her finger to her chin in a thinking manner, before she beams at Shadow

Mystic: I like that name. And would love if you called me that. I also gave you some other numbers I had with me. 13, 31, 52, and your signature number

Mystic said as Shadow looks at the cards before looking at his new numbers. When suddenly number 52 appears in his lap. Smiling Shadow rubs its head with the tip of his finger

Time skip

Yumi confronts Scorch, Chills, and Aqua at the museum

Scorch: Are you sure you wanna do this pipsqueak?

Scorch asked as he and Chills glowed with a dark aura

Yumi: I'm sure, I can take both you guys

Aqua: Yumi don't be crazy! Two-on-one?

Aqua asked as everyone suddenly heard footsteps walking their way

Shadow: Then I guess this is where I step in

Shadow said as he walks till he was next to yumi. Aqua then looks at him in shock before that turned into one of glee

Aqua: I didn't know you were discharged today

Aqua said as Shadow shot her a glare that turned her into a great white

Shadow: I wanted to keep it a surprise for you and Rio, but apparently I'm the one getting a shock. I heard all about you miss bully. Not to mention, hanging out with these losers

Shadow said causing Aqua to hang her head in sshame. Scorch and Chills were livid

Chills: How dare you Aqua is value member of our pack!

Chill shouted at Shadow who just looked at him with a raised eyebrow

Shadow: Ok first off it's Rachel, I don't know where this whole " Aqua " thing started and I don't wanna know. And secondly, I bet ya twenty bucks that she's just gonna take the fall for little plan of yours. Which, if I had to guess, is to still the new deck that's now on display at the museum

Scorch and Chills just stare at Shadow in shock at how he guess their plan perfectly. Yumi suddenly noticed Mystic next to Shadow

Yumi: Astra is she anyone you know or uh knew?

Yumi asked her spiritual companion who just looks at Mystic

Astra: No clue. But I don't trust her.

Yumi: Because there's a chance that she might be evil?

Yumi asked as Astra glares at the Mystic

Astra: Yeah something like that

Astra said as Mystic caught Astra's glare from the corner of her eye, which in turn caused her to smirk. She then wraps her arms around Shadow's neck and stuck her tongue out at her causing Astra to clenched  her fist in anger 

Astra: No fair! Why does she get the smart sexy one and I get the dumb reckless one

Astra thought as Mystic was now sitting on Shadow's shoulder

Shadow: Enough, are we dueling or not?!

Shadow asked as he activated his duel disk and his duel gazer and then he looks at Yumi

Shadow: Hey are you my partner in this or not?

Shadow asked and before Yumi could say anything, Aqua walks up and stood next to Shadow causing him to grin

Aqua: Just like old times eh Shadow?

Aqua asked causing him to nod slightly as they both stare at Scorch and Chills

All four: Let's Duel

Scorch: 4000 LP

Shadow: 4000 LP

Aqua: 4000 Lp

Shadow: I take Chills, you handle scorch

Shadow said causing Aqua to nod

Scorch: My turn. I place a monster face down in DEF mode. I also place two cards face down and end my turn

Aqua: Don't you know that a lady should always go first. My turn. Draw! I summon Big Jaws in Atk mode

Aqua: Since I summoned a fish monster to my side of the field, I can special summon Shark Stickers!

Aqua: I overlay my Level 3 Big Jaws and Shark Stickers to build the Overlay Network! I XYZ Summon! Appear Submersible Carrier Aero Shark!

Aqua: I activate the special ability of my Submersible Carrier Aero Shark. Once per turn, I can use an overlay unit and deal you damage you 400 LP of damage for each card in my hand. I have four so therefore, Scorch, you're taking 1600 LP of damage!

Aqua yells as Scorch grunts in pain

Aqua: I set a facedown and end my turn

Shadow: My turn! Draw! Since no monsters on my field I can special summon this card. Appear Bianca The Bear Girl!

A bear like teen appears as she flashed a peace sign playfully

Shadow: Now I normal summon my own little Devine Girl. Appear Young Goddess!

A little girl with tiny wings, in a white dress, and holding a teddy bear flutters down onto Shadow's shoulder

Shadow: Unfortunately her effects won't allow her to attack this turn, but luckily she ain't gonna be sticking around. I now overlay my Level 4 Bianca The Bear Girl and my Level 4 Young Goddess in order to build the overlay network. Covered in Crystals and made in a deep dark cavern, is one of the most dangerous of dragons. I Xyz summon! Arise Dark Crystal Xyz Dragon

Suddenly Shadow sprouts black crystal wings that resembles an angel. Aqua, Yumi, and even Astra and Mystic stared at his wings and Dragon in amazement

Aqua: When did you get those?

Aqua asked in amazement causing Shadow to smirk

Shadow: I had these all my life. You don't know everything about me. Now my dragon! Attack Chills Blizzardon with Crystal Cataclysmic Beam!

Shadow yelled as the dragon fires a black beam with crystal shards in it at chills monster destroying it and dealing Chills damage

Shadow: I set two cards and end my turn

Scorch: My turn. Draw! Damn. I end my turn

Scorch said causing Aqua to laugh

Aqua: My turn. Draw! I activate my sharks ability again since I have five cards in my hand. You take 2000 LP of damage

Aqua yelled as Scorch let's out another grunt of pain

Chills: I activate my facedown: Blizzard Egg Level 5. It lets Scorch special summon a Level 5 monster from his hand. If he can't, then he takes 500 LP of damage.

Scorch: I special summon Baggy Pants Lavasaurus in ATK Mode

Scorch: Since I took effect damage, I activate my facedown: Flame Egg Level 5. It lets Chills special summon a Level 5 monster from his hand. If he can't he takes 500 LP of damage.

Chills: I special summon Icebergdon in DEF Mode.

Scorch: I activate my other facedown: Glare Level 5. Aqua, you will take 500 LP of damage for each Level 5 monster we control. We control two so you take 1000 LP of damage.

Aqua let's out a small grunt of pain

Chills: My turn. Draw. I activate the spell card Monster Reborn. To bring back my Blizzardon in Def mode. Now, I activate the spell: Frozen Ice Cave. Since Pompadour Blizzardon is in DEF mode, I can increase its level by 1.

Chills: I end my turn

Shadow: My turn. Draw. I activate the field spell XYZ field. With it I can Xyz summon any monster using the monsters that I have in my hand. I use my lvl 8 Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon Girl and Blue-Eyes White Dragon Girl in order to build the overlay network. "Galaxy shining in the darkness, dwell in the demonic god of revenge and become my very servant! Xyz Summon! Descend, Rank 8! Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon Girl!

A girl with white and purple hair appears in blue and purple dress next to Shadow and kiss his cheek. Pissing the girls that are there in the process

Shadow: I now activate her ability. By using one overlay unit I'm allowed to take control one of your monsters and then I can turn it into another Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon Girl. So your Freezerdon now belongs to me. Go Cipher Subjection!

Shadow said as Cipher Girl ate one her glowing orbs cutely. Her wings then glowed before shooting a light out and it hit Freezerdon bringing it over to Shadow's side. It then turn into a Cipher Girl who roars cutely along with Shadow's original.

Shadow: I now activate my face down Cipher Interference! Since I have two Cipher monsters with the same name, during the battle stage one of their Atks double and I chose my original dragon! Now go Galaxy-Eyes finish off Chills. Cipher Stream of Destruction!

Galaxy Eyes Cipher Dragon Girl Atk/ 3000  - - -> 6000

Cipher Girl then opens her mouth cutely before launching a light blue beam at Chills defeating him in the process Aqua then looks at Shadow

Aqua: Finish it

Aqua said simply causing Shadow to nod

Shadow: Now my other Cipher girl destroy Scorch Baggy Pants Lavasaurus and win us this duel. Cipher Stream of Destruction!

Shadow said and like the other one she opens her mouth cutely before firing a light blue beam at Scorch's monster and destroying it thus winning them the duel. Mystic then stretch out her arm and the numbers that Scorch and Chills had flew into her before placing them in shadow's extra deck. Aqua then held her hand up to Shadow

Aqua: Team Dark Ocean?

Aqua asked causing Shadow to smirk before high-fiving her while saying

Shadow: For life.

Shadow said causing Aqua to smile as she hugs him. Shadow then taps her forehead causing her to look up at him. Shadow then jerks his head causing Aqua to look and saw that Yumi was still there. Blushing heavily Aqua let's go

Aqua: Uh anyway I'll see you later Shadow

Aqua said as she gets on her bike and takes off. Shadow took one look at Yumi before heading off in certain direction. Yumi stood there for a minute before she took off after Shadow. Once she was right next she slowed her pace down a bit to keep up to him. Suddenly Astra appears next to her

Astra: Yumi ask him if we could see his numbers real quick

Astra said and before Yumi could tell her off Shadow spoke up

Shadow: Or you could ask me yourself

Shadow said startling both girls as Astra flew in front him

Astra: You can see me?

Astra asked as Shadow used two fingers to tap her forehead causing her to blush

Shadow: And touch you as well. Now you said something about needing my numbers?

Shadow asked as Astra calmed herself

Astra: Yes, it appears I've lost my memory and apparently numbers 1-100 can help me regain them

Shadow: Makes sense. So what I just put them in your hand?

Astra: Yes. Unless you have another way

Astra said causing Shadow to think before coming up with something

Shadow: I wonder

Shadow said as the numbers 19, 61, 31, 13, 29, and 52 appears on his right arm. He then placed said on Astra's shoulder causing the girl to go wide eye as she felt the six numbers unlocking more of her memories. Once that was done Shadow then removes his hand from her shoulder causing her to pout. Soon enough they managed to find Yumi's friends who where apparently looking for her. Smirking, Shadow snuck up on Rio before placing one hand over her eyes

Rio: Flip if this is another one of you pranks I swear I will break your arms off

Rio said angrily causing Shadow to laugh

Shadow: Not even close. You wanna guess again waterlily?

Shadow asked causing Rio eyes to widen as tears started to appear in the corner of her eyes. She then turn around and came face to face with her crush who kept her safe for years

Rio: SHADOW!

Rio yelled as she hugs him. However, her outburst caught the attention of her other friends. As soon as she heard his name Tori whips her head around so fast she nearly gotten whiplash. She then run and joins in on the hug. A few minutes later Shadow broke it

Shadow: As much as I wanna catch up with you two I need to head to the store to get better clothes

Shadow said gesturing to burned clothes

Tori: If you want I could help

Tori said causing Shadow to snicker

Shadow: Yeah like I'm gonna take fashion advice from the same girl who has been wearing the same thing basically since kindergarten

Tori: Well, at least I don't look like shit.

Tori said causing Shadow to look at himself

Shadow: Oh yea that's what someone should say to burn victim that just got outta the hospital. But I tell you one thing. My clothes are singed but I still look better than you

Tori: You do not! How about this? Tomorrow at 3pm we hit the mall. We both post pictures on social media and let everyone decide who's hot and who's not.

Shadow: Deal. Hope you get ready to lose. Don't be late

A little ways away Cathy was watching disappointed that Shadow was still ignoring her even since she gave him her number

Cat: Don't worry master soon enough you and me will be together soon
