"Deadly Nightshade!" Something nudged me.

I struggled to open my eyes. My sight was met with brown dusty boots. If this is the afterlife, where is the exit? I thought groggily.

"Wake up! I can't keep Striker trapped much longer!"

The brown boots nudged my arm lightly again.

I sat up slowly, cursing loudly as I held my throbbing head. Everything is slowly flooding back. Ugh. One point for lightning girl.

"You okay?" The voice sounded strained.

I looked up to see Mind Bender struggling to keep Striker in check. Both of us were very far away from Striker who was sending bolts of electricity into the ground. Mind Bender must've moved me here while I'm still unconscious. We're even now.

"I'll be fine." I wheezed. I stood up unsteadily, making my way towards Striker. "Let's just...finish this."

My feet felt numb. Everywhere felt numb. I feel like I'm walking on cotton candy. Which is a good thing, I suppose. The shock waves of electricity barely affect me as I approached Striker.

"Both of you will pay-" Spittle flew from her mouth as she ranted on and on. Gross. I fished out a Nerium Oleander seed, throwing it into her mouth just as she opened her mouth. Striker choked and swallowed it, "What did you give me? Poison?"

"You'll see." I replied simply. I never liked to disclose my plans. Act first, talk later. Speaking too much, especially idle talk means sealing your doom. It is the many downfalls of typical supervillains, who can't resist gloating. Including Striker's.

Gathering all my concentration, which is not much I admit, I imagined Striker's powers drain away as I intoned,

"Unleash the potential of this seed,
Of Power I call upon,"

A sharp pain shot through my left arm but I ignored it, concentrating on finishing the spell.

"Power recedes and fade,
For the one who calls upon lightning." I murmured, my voice barely a whisper.

Yellow tendrils of light floated out of Striker, forming the symbol of a lightning bolt before dissipating into the air. Striker slumped over the metal, unconscious.

Mind Bender released Striker from her metal cage and nodded approvingly at me, impressed. "That was very clever, to take away her power." He paused hesitantly before continuing, "Thank you, I couldn't have done this without your help." He held out his hand, waiting for me to shake it. Not making a move to shake his hand, I mustered a tired smile, "You're welcome. I'm still a supervillain so I better take my leave now." I walked a few steps before turning around to say,"I couldn't have done this without your help too. See you around, pretty boy."

Mind Bender chuckled at the nickname and watched as Deadly Nightshade disappeared into the night.

"See you around, flower girl."

Mind Bender hauled Striker's unconscious body, making his way to the police station.

Who would've thought? A superhero and a supervillain working together.
