"Lightning strikes every time she moves, and everybody's watching her." Mind Bender warbles, swinging his legs as he sat on the rooftop ledge.

I landed softly on the roof at 8pm to find Mind Bender singing rather off-key to This is What You Came For by Calvin Harris.

"I know how we can defeat her, we just need you to sing."

Mind Bender clambered down from the ledge flushing in embarrassment, scratching his neck awkwardly.

"Um..hi..."

"Hello..."

An uncomfortable silence settled over us, as we stared at each other warily. It's not everyday a superhero and a supervillain work together. Every fight with him is currently flashing through my mind as I try to figure out how exactly to approach this delicate situation. Judging his facial expression, every single reminder of his defeat must've been flashing through his mind. Awkward.

"We should go somewhere less....open," I gestured to the flashes of lightning in the sky created by Striker. Mind Bender followed suit as I leapt off the 3-storey building and strolling casually to look inconspicuous. Striker's been searching for both of us the whole day, with her ridiculous threats and deadly lightning flashing in the sky. It's distracting when I'm trying to concentrate on a calculus question and the sky abruptly lights up, paired along with colourful language.

Trying to break the silence, I decided to get straight to the point, "So...Prett-um..Mind Bender, what's the plan? Preferably executed today, this is disrupting my civilian life." I shot Mind Bender a weak smile as I mentally slapped myself for tripping over my own words. It felt strange to address him formally when I've been taunting him all this while. I nervously twisted my fingers as I braced myself for his snarky reply about it.

A small smile played across his lips. Clearing his throat, he pretended not to hear my mistake and replied, "Since metal is a good conductor of electricity," he looked at me for a nod of confirmation, before plowing on, "we need to trap her hands with-"

"Metal." I interrupted, a plan starting to form in my mind. "Don't forget her eyes, I notice they glow white when she's really angry." I added. He dipped his head in agreement. Talking more to himself than me, he mused, "We just need a place where metal is accessible..."

"The Junkyard!" We exclaimed in unison before trailing off awkwardly. I chuckled as I caught Mind Bender trying to suppress a grin. I guess he isn't so bad after all.

We walked in comfortable silence, lost in our thoughts. Suddenly, Mind Bender frowned, "What are we going to do after we captured her? She'll attack us in a split second if I were to release her. My power isn't limitless." Mind Bender lamented, "If only we can take her powers away but that's impossi-"

"That's it! You're a genius!"

"I am? I mean, of course." Mind Bender replied, perplexed.

I immediately jogged towards Sunny Lane. "I'll explain everything later, I promise. I just need to make a detour."

"Wait!"

Before disappearing round the corner, I hollered back, "Meet me at the entrance in an hour!"

Mind Bender let out an exasperated sigh before making his way slowly to the Junkyard.
