Chapter 1: Responsibilities
"AMELIA FRANKLIN JONES GIVE ME BACK MY GODDAMN JOURNAL DAMMIT!" You ran in your pajamas around the dorm. Weird that the dorm was mixed, but you didn't mind. "AMELIA!!!"
"Haha! I got (Y/n)'s diary!!!"
"It's a journal dammit now give it back Jones!" Suddenly she threw it above her. You looked up to see Alfred sitting on top of the arch reading it.
"ALFRED FRANKLIN JONES GIVE IT BACK!" I yelled at him, but of course he ignored me.
"He hovered above me as I stared back into his deep green eyes lovingly..." He continued to read what you wrote as your face flushed in embarrassment. "This Isn't a diary!"
"Oh my god, it's her legendary book of erotica!"
"What's all the ruckus about?" You spotted Leon in his bed hair which gave you an idea.
"Hey Leon!" He looked at you sleepily as you pointed up at Alfred. "Can you help me?"
"Fine." He yawned as he readied himself.
"Go!" You ran towards him and stepped on his hands. He threw you up towards Alfred as you tackled the American off the ledge and down to the floor. You both started to wrestle until Amelia had to come and help her twin wrestle. You cussed in your head from their strength. You kicked Alfred in the face while your hand pushed Amelia's face.
"I see so much incest in this scene right now molesting a friend of theirs." You both stopped as you looked up to see Leon taking a picture of you three while Emil, Elizabeta, Feliks, and Mei where looking at you while holding in their laughter. A flash went off as your eyes widened.
"Leon..." He looked at you for a smirked and pulled off one of his rare smirks. "Oh shit, GET THE PHONE!" Amelia suddenly got off of you and tackled him down. You got off of Alfred and grabbed the phone. You instantly deleted the post that went on several websites. You sighed in relief as you calmly threw his phone back at him and grabbed your "journal" back.
"Get the book!" You cussed and ran as the twins continued.
"ALICE!!!" You screamed the name of your roommate for help as the two Americans chased you through the halls causing others to wake up and others to stop their work, and find out what was the cause of making their card castle fall. "ALICE MARIE KIRKLAND WHERE ARE YOU?!"
"For the last time (Y/n), I do not have a 'Marie' in my name-" You pushed her back into the room and lock the door shut. A loud thud was heard outside along with some whining.
"What did you do this time?" Alice sighed as you smiled sheepishly at her.
"Long story short they got my journal."
"By your journal, do you mean your little black book of erotic fanfics?"
"I don't know what you're talking about, Lis." You stood up and fixed your pajamas and threw your journal on your desk. "So how's your relationship with Francine?" You smirked as your British friend blushed.
"We uhh..." Her face started to turn dangerously red as your mouth gaped open.
"Oh my god... Who topped?" You sat on the rug. "Wait??? Did you top???"
"O-Of course not! She did..." Her face seemed disappointed. You grabbed your phone and sent a quick text to someone. "(Y/n), who are you-"
"She said she'll let you drive next time." She was redder than ever as you smiled innocently at her. You climbed up your hammock and turned off the lights on your side of the room. "Goodnight Kirkland, noght Flying Mint Bunny." You stared at the green bunny woth wings who was already in slumber as you drifted to sleep.
"Good night (last name)."
The next day you woke up with Alice telling you some shocking news.
"They what?" You looked at her grumpily as she sighed.
"The Jones went to Tomorrowland."
"How could they?! They promised that we'd go together!" You fell back on your bed again and groaned.
"They got their dates." Alice informed you. "Amelia finally asked Anya out and Alfred got his date with Sakura."
"My god..." I mumbled.
"Besides, it's not like there's a big project for you right? It's the holidays tomorrow."
Later on you swore that Alice jinxed it all.
"Okay class! Since it's your Christmas break tomorrow, I have an assignment you should all do during the break." Everyone groaned in annoyance as you banged your head on the table. I mean, what kind of professor gives an assignment during a Christmas break? You raised up your hand.
"Sir, why do we have an assignment?" You raised up your head as he clapped his hands.
"A very good question Ms. (Last name)." He grabbed a fishbowl full of folded papers from his desk. "This project requires at least two months of your time so your classes wouldn't be affected I am giving you the time to make this project. Now come down from your seats and grab a paper." We all stood up from our seats and walked down to his desk. "You'll pick a country from this bowl and find out an exciting report about it. Let it be weird. You'll be filming the whole project with you reporting so I expect you all to do your best with tour team..." Your professor kept on babbling as you were up next. You neared the bowl and picked one of the papers. Once you opened it your face turned into a grim expression.
"Oh great..." You muttered under yoir breath. Out of all countries you got Norway. It wasn't really your thing since you only spoke Dutch and English, and you didn't pass your Norwegian class when you first picked it as your third language.
"Class is dismissed! Happy holidays everyone!"
You ran out of the room running straight for the dorms. You ran up in the stairwell to the fourth floor and barged into the room of the Jones. By the time you got there, no one was home.
"Amelia? Alfred?" You called out as you checked in every room. The small kitchen, bathroom, and the balcony. You checked up on their bunk beds to see no one there.
"(Y/n)?" You looked at the door to see Francis. "What are you doing in here mon cheri?"
"Where's Amelia and Alfred?" You jumped down the bunk.
"They didn't tell you?"
"Tell me what?"
"They went off to Tomorrowland yesterday." Your eyes widened with a dark aura appearing around you. Francis stepped back afraid as you crumpled the piece of paper you had in your hands.
"They WHAT?!" You yelled and raced out of the room leaving the scared Frenchman behind. You ran into your room and saw a sticky note on your laptop. You read the note and threw yourself on the couch as you sulked.
"Why is the world so cruel???" You cried. "Wait... Alice already told me that they went off to Tomorrowland yesterday..." You sulked some more from realization.
Three days later right after you talked with the twins, you've decided to go to Oslo yourself. The school handled the expenses and gave you allowance.
"Your on your own for two months at a country with a language you've failed years ago?" Alice gently placed down the cup and saucer that contained the coffee you ordered. "You could've just told them to come back."
"Well expenses are important too." You said in a matter-of-fact. "Their using my car and if they get back there's no gas in it."
"Why did you give them your car keys anyways?"
"I didn't, they got it." You sighed and massaged your temples. "I'm off to Norway today and I have no idea what kind if weird things I'm gonna report about. Talk about unprepared." You slumped your shoulders. "I'm a journalist, I should be prepared."
"Well I think I can help." She smirked as she pushed up the frames of her glasses back up on the bridge if her nose. She looked around as you drunk your coffee. "Here comes your weirdness now." You looked at the direction she was facing. You saw a man with platinum blonde hair that had a strange curl held by a cross clip. You almost took him as a new professor from his attire.
"Who's that?"
"That's the valedictorian of this year's new graduates." You looked atvhim closely as he turned around. You finally saw his features. He had mysterious and intimidating lavender eyes, his faced was well-chiseled that match his porcelain looking skin, and his expressions were blank. He held a cup of coffee as he walked away.
"Lukas Bondevik."
"Wait you mean Emil's brother?" You looked at Alice who fixed her glasses. "How come he never told me that his brother was this hot?" Alice rolled her eyes as you smiled innocently.
"Anyways, Lukas Bondevik is a mysterious man with great possibilities."
"Like what?"
"Well he can see the creatures under the Veil like me, same goes for you, and has encountered more species of supernatural beings than I did for the past few years. Also he's a magic user."
"Ohhhh!" Your eyes sparkled with curiosity as you watched him walk out of the café. "What kind of creatures?"
"Well fairies, unicorns, pegasai, other talking horses, those Norse creatures, and others I have no information of." She cleared her throat. "Though he has a large amount of encounters with trolls."
Your eyes sparkled with curiosity and excitement as you gave Alice the puppy eyes.
"Tell me more."
"His family well..." The Brit looked uneasy by the time you realized Francine came in to the café and winked at Alice. She cleared her throat again and shook her head. "His family has this business on troll hunts."
"Troll hunts?" You've, of course, heard about trolls before. Hostile creatures in Norse mythology, but are human-like and at times grotesque creatures. Though you've never heard of troll hunts.
"Yes, I heard numerous accidents around Northern Europe are caused by trolls."
"How? There are no trolls on the news."
"The Veil, (Y/n), remember the Veil seals it all." Alice checked her watch as you drank your coffee. "And isn't your flight in thirty minutes?"
"Hm?" You checked your watch to and did a spit-take to the next student beside your seat. "Sorry!" You apologized and drank yoir coffee in one gulp. You stood up and stuffed everything inside your backpack and grabbed your suitcase thta was under your table.
"Bye Alice!"
"Hey! You forgot to pay!"
"I'll get you a souvenir back."
You ran out of the café with your backpack open and papers flying out of it as you ran to the empty cab that just left.
