Chapter Four: Secret Admirer?
I have always wanted a house to call my own but thinking about what happened with my best friend brought tears to my eyes.
I would rather enjoy life than spend money on things which are still far from my reach.
I am missing Ashley so much but life must go on. And she wouldn't want seeing me like this.
I wiped my tears that escaped my eyes and patted my cheeks to plump it up and look like I didn't shed a tear today.
I checked my schedule and saw that I only need to stop by at the salon after lunch today. I decided to go to the mall to canvas on some salon supplies.
One of our blowers had broken down and needing repair. I took it to the service center last time and have to wait for a week or two.
I sighed when I remember that I cannot use the car today due to number coding so I opted to ride the public transport instead of taking a taxi cab for lesser expenses. But then, I recalled what happened the last time I commuted.
As I scooted closer behind the driver, some girl noticed me and began snapping pictures and posting it on her Facebook Account. It was only that time when I realized that my parents are somehow well-known in the field and being their daughter, I happen to take on after them.
If they insisted me on having bodyguards, I was more persistent to say no. I just can't find security and comfort around them. I cannot also risk if the guy fell for me and I don't feel the same way.
And before lunch time even came, I booked a Grab and waited for a few minutes before I arrived at the mall.
With my shades on, I was confident that no one noticed me and luckily, it went fine.
With the list written on my notepad, I was able to buy them and headed to my favorite restaurant. I ordered my usual dish paired with creme brulee.
I scrolled through my phone and was hesitant to post something on Instagram about my quick trip here but decided against it. I don't want another unplanned chaos to happen. I just want to eat in peace.
As soon as my order was served, I took my time to savor its tastiness and watched the people around me.
Some were on their formal clothing, probably on a business meeting, while others were on a date with their special someone. Only few are eating alone and having their 'me' time.
Shortly after looking at them, I finished my food and am now enjoying my dessert. When done, I signaled the waiter for a paycheck, paid the bill and went out with paper bags in my grasp.
I didn't bother booking another Grab since a taxi bay is just located at the entrance of the mall so I immediately got my ride. I told him where to go and I sighed on my seat.
Little did I know that someone has seen me at the mall and has added photos to his collection.
When I reached the salon, Selena helped me with the stuff and we walked inside. My eyes traveled to the bouquet of sunflower resting on my table inside my mini-office.
"Kanino galing yan?" I asked and sat on my swivel chair.
"Wala pong nakalagay na pangalan ng sender, Miss Trish." She answered and I frowned, waving a hand dismissively at her, as I searched for a note which usually comes along with it.
Looking great in your red dress, Trish.
Enjoy your food. Be watching you so worry not.
Your Secret Admirer
A shiver went up my spine as I shrieked in shock and looked at my outfit.
Selene, who happened to be stationed at the booth near the office, must have heard my scream of surprise and ran inside.
"Miss Trish! Okay lang ho kayo?" She asked and saw me with my mouth hanging open.
"M-may nasabihan ba ako sa inyo kung saan ako pupunta ngayon?" I asked, clearing my throat. Horror didn't escaped my system.
"Wala po, Miss. Ang naitext nyo lang po ay after lunch kayo makakapunta rito." She answered and her forehead creased. "Pwede ko po bang basahin?" I nodded absentmindedly and it was her turn to puff. "Pa-paano niya nalaman ang kulay ng suot mo?"
"Hindi ko rin alam!" I exclaimed and groaned inwardly.
"Baka po nagpost kayo sa IG or FB story?" She tried to ask and my facial expression mirrored hers.
My eyes widened at her statement so I pulled out my phone from my bag and checked my FB and IG accounts. But to no avail.
"None. Wala akong post about sa kulay ng suot ko or where I am headed to." I squeaked on my seat.
"Hindi ho kaya isa sa mga followers nyo na alam ang tungkol dito sa business nyo?" She added, hoping to find an appropriate answer to my concern.
"B-baka nga." I said to convince myself and not to worry her with my personal issues. "Sige. You can go back to what you are doing. Salamat sa pagpunta rito to check on me." I managed a smile and she nodded before she left.
I know in my right mind that a secret admirer doesn't just leave spontaneous gifts to someone.
This person seemed to be more of a stalker than a fan.
But since, this is just his or her first time leaving me a cryptic message, I will just ignore it.
