Jays POV
We're on the plane, Smith, Willows, Sawyer, Wood, Harris, Owens, River and I "how can they sleep" Smith asks me giving a disgusted look. "you learn to after the first time" I say getting up from my seat and going over to him sitting next to him. We talk for a hour or two. "We're getting ready for landing" the pilot says, so I get up and go to my seat.
Thirty minutes later we are landed and getting of the plane.  We are greeted by two men with their humvee's. "Guys here are your vests, I'm Sergeant Major  William Hanson" He says handing me a duffle bag. I pull them out one at a time, reading the names on them. I grab mine and read "Sergeant Major Halstead, Unit Leader" and set it aside as I pass the rest out to my team. I pull out Rivers vest, and Willows is busy putting hers on so I put Rivers vest on. "Thanks Halstead" Willows says, while I'm putting my best over my head. We hop in the humvee's, Willows, Harris, and Owens are in the one I am , Smith, Woods, and Sawyer in the one following us.
We are driven to base and we hop out. "Welcome to Afghanistan guys, let's talk inside" a man says. "Thanks, I'm Sergeant Major Jay Halstead," I say shaking his hand "I know I've heard a lot about you." He responds " what is that supposed to mean" I ask "you've had all but compliments" he says. "You guys are working in the village starting tomorrow you have the rest of today to yourselves, head to your compound. "Letter for Sergeant Major Halstead" a  army mailman says. "What" I say going over to him. "It was rush delivered" he says as the unit and I walk to our compound. On the front of the letter it says skype before opening so when I get into the compound I quickly hook up my laptop and start a Skype. It rings "hey Jay" Erin says "can I open it now" I say waving the envelope "Yes Jay, open it" Erin says, as Willows walks behind me and into the living area. "Who was that" Erin asks, a jealous look on her face. "Corporal Willows, and do I see a jealous Erin Lindsay" I say opening the envelope. "Has she been hitting on you?" She asks as I look at the letter, and the ultrasound in my hand. "your joking with me, right." I ask as Harris, Smith, Wood, Sawyer, and Owens walk behind me. "No Jay. I was shot and the bullets hit the vest. There was bruising so Will did an ultrasound." "Are you going to introduce us to your girl" Harris asks playfully punching me. "Yeah Jay are you going to introduce me to your team." Erin asks. "Really guys really" I say picking up my laptop. "This is my fiancé Erin, Erin this is my team, Willows, Wood, Harris, Smith, Sawyer, and Owens" I say pointing at them as I say there names. "Nice to meet you guys" Erin says "so how is living in Chicago" Willows asks "it's nice" "what do you do for a living" "I'm a cop" "really" "I was her partner for three years" I say giving willows a dirty look. "Well I got to go sorry talk to you again soon" Erin says before she ends the Skype. I go into my room throw my stuff down at the side of my bed and plop down and lay on it.
