The Crying, The Bitch, and The Homophobe
Sam's weekend went at a slow pace when his dad was around. He mainly stayed in his room, only coming out for food or using the bathroom before returning to his hideout. In his room, he did nothing but his homework and mindless doodling, just praying for school to come quicker so he didn't have to see his father.
It was wearing on Sunday night when Sam's boredom reached its peak, and his mindlessly let his hand write along a piece of paper, not thinking about anything. He had read somewhere that if he did this for long enough, he would write down things he didn't even know he thought of. It was worth a shot at least.
After ten minutes, he felt his pencil hit the desk beneath the paper, and knew he had run out of room. He sighed, setting the pen down and stretching his stiff hand before picking up the paper and reading over it.
Most was about random things, like his anger for his father, how much he loves nature, and things like that. It was when he got about halfway down that he grew interested as the words changed and began describing something else, something that his mind described as much more beautiful.
Sam was at a loss for words as he read about the description of pure beauty in these words, as if he were describing heaven other than something on this earth. It was amazing as the words became to get sloppier and sloppier, as if he was trying to get down all his thoughts when he came to the last word, his heart hammering as he realized he had written down the thing he had described.
He decided that that was enough writing for one day.

The next morning, Sam was out the door before either his brother of his dad woke. He didn't want to have to deal with John and his drunken ways, and was glad that he had enough time to walk to school rather than catch a ride.
He saw Gabriel up ahead, and he couldn't help but smile as he lengthened his strides to catch up, calling the boy's name. The trickster turned his head, and Sam's pace slowed as he got nearer, seeing the sad look in Gabriel's eyes.
"Are you okay?" Sam asked, tipping his head in worry. Gabriel shook his head, strangely quiet as he looked at the ground.
"Just been having trouble sleeping." Gabriel admitted, bumping against Sam's shoulder as they walked together. Sam frowned, furrowing his eyebrows.
"Maybe you should go home and get some sleep then." Sam suggested gently, knowing that there was more to the story than what Gabriel was telling him. The trickster shook his head, rubbing tiredly at his eyes.
"I'm fine, Sam. Don't worry about it." Gabriel said, smiling at the boy. Sam nodded, his eyes trailing over the paleness of Gabriel's face and the darkness under his eyes. It was obvious that the boy did not have a good night at all.
"If you say so." Sam said softly, wrapping the boy in a one armed hug before continuing their way to school.

Mrs. Rowena was not there at Biology, and the students found themselves being taken outside by the substitute, who was nice enough to allow the kids a free period to relax. She claimed that it was good every now and then to just have fun. Sam agreed with her logic.
He and Gabriel were sitting underneath the shade of the tree, relaxing as they watched the other students either do the same or throw a ball they had found back and forth. It was a serene feeling, and Sam began to notice that Gabriel was having trouble staying awake.
Sam rolled his eyes, grabbing the boy and pulling over to his side, stretching his legs outs.
"Lay your head down and sleep. You're so tired you won't be able to help me clean today." Sam complained teasingly, but the worry was clearly there as he stared at the teen struggling to keep his eyes open.
Gabriel shook his head sluggishly, crossing his arms in his stubbornness. "I'm fine, mo-" Gabriel broke off mid word to yawn, dozing for a half a second before jerking back awake. Sam huffed, patting his legs in invitation.
"Lay down. Now." Sam growled threateningly, smirking when Gabriel finally complied. The boy yawned again, his eyes fluttering shut the minute his head hit Sam's lap. It wasn't long before Gabriel was completely out.
Sam relaxed, his smirk of accomplishment as he looked around again. Seeing nothing of particular interest, he carefully worked his IPod - the screen still cracked from Uriel knocking it out of his hand - and turned on some music, putting headphones in.
He set the IPod neatly beside him and returned his gaze to Gabriel, smiling when he saw how adorably the boy slept. He subconsciously moved his hand, letting it slowly brush comfortingly through the trickster's hair, making Gabriel stir for just a moment before falling still.
Sam made sure to stay still so he wouldn't wake up the exhausted teen after that. He felt eyes on him, and turned his head, seeing the football players had made their way out to the field for their free period of practice. Uriel was staring at him, a dark smile plastered across his face as he made his way to the field. Sam watched him, his heart filling with dread.
He was glad the substitute was outside, as Uriel would not do anything where the teacher could see, so the burly teen continued on his way, not even acknowledging Sam sitting there. Sam automatically reached for Gabriel, placing his hand on his shoulder in a protective state, his body tense.
The rest of the period was spent watching the teen with wary eyes while Gabriel slept peacefully. When the bell rang and students began making their way back, Sam gently shook the trickster's shoulder, his eyes tracing over the planes of Gabriel's face as he woke up.
"It's time for the next class." Sam whispered, pocketing his IPod as the trickster sat up, sleepily rubbing at his eyes. Gabriel's sleepy gaze met his and the trickster groaned, crawling into Sam's lap and wrapping his arms around his neck.
"I want to sleep more." Gabriel mumbled, nuzzling his face into the side of Sam's neck. The Winchester blushed, his hand sliding up to Gabriel's back before he regrettably had to pull Gabriel off, trying not to think of the tingling sensation spreading from the areas that Gabriel touched.
"How about after detention, we'll go to the park and you can sleep there?" Sam suggested, looking down at the tired trickster. Gabriel nodded slowly, as if he was willing to agree to anything if it meant that he could sleep more. Sam smiled and got up, not realizing that Uriel was listening into the conversation.

"Hey, you go on to the park." Sam suggested when they had finished cleaning, pulling his backpack onto his shoulders. Gabriel looked at him with a confused expression, but it was quickly put to ease by Sam's smile. "Mrs. Trevor wanted me to do something else for her before I leave, so I'll catch meet you at the orchard."
Gabriel nodded, smiling in a farewell. "See you there moose." Gabriel replied, taking a step forwards before freezing, a blush coming over his face as he turned and left the room. Sam tipped his eyes, narrowing his eyes in confusion before shaking his head and heading to the room.
Mrs. Trevor was sitting behind her desk, the other detention students already have left. She smiled as Sam walked in, opening the bottom drawer on her desk and pulling out a package. "Ready to get started?" She asked, opening the package.
Sam nodded, taking a seat in front of her desk. "Yeah, I'm ready." He said, watching as she dumped out the pieces of the package. It was a model of the human organs for one of her anatomy classes. Sam had offered to help since he knew where all the organs went anyways.
They got started with putting it together, only having to follow the instructions on a couple of the parts when they couldn't get them to fit. It was quick work, and Sam was heading towards the park within ten minutes after getting done, jogging so he wouldn't leave Gabriel waiting.
He got there and automatically headed towards the orchard of trees that the park had. He smiled as the shade cooled his skin, and walked through the trees, looking for his trickster.
He paused when he heard crying to the right, frowning as he turned and headed that way. It was a couple of trees over when he saw Gabriel sitting on the ground, tears falling down his face as he held his stomach, trying to hide from Uriel standing over him.
Sam growed, racing over and placing himself in between the burly teen and the trickster. "Get away from him, Uriel." Sam hissed, his eyes hard with anger. Uriel only grinned, cracking his knuckles and looking over the slightly shorter teen.
"And what will your little faggot ass do about it if I don't?" Uriel said, a smirk playing on his
face. "I should have known you were gay from the first minute I saw you. Bet you like having a dick up your ass all the time."
Sam huffed, glancing over his shoulder at Gabriel to make sure the boy was alright. The trickster was staring up at him, still crying, but there was a happiness there that struck Sam with a need to protect the boy. He face back at Uriel, his shoulders tensing.
"This is my last warning, you bitchy homophobe. Leave us alone before I'm forced to do something I really don't want to do." Sam growled, his hands clenching into fists. Uriel's grin only widened at the prospect of finally fighting Sam, and swung without warning, catching Sam on the side of the jaw.
Sam's head snapped to the side, but he didn't make a noise as he straightened back up, a hatred filling his chest until the corners of his vision began to turn red. Uriel swung again, but Sam ducked underneath it, slamming into the burly teen with his knee.
Uriel let out a gasp as his air left him and grabbed Sam, throwing him to the ground beside Gabriel, who scrambled out of the way to stop from being stepped on. The fear in his face gave Sam new energy and he stood, punching Uriel in the nose and hearing it crack.
Uriel didn't seem to even notice his broken nose as he swung at Sam, who moved just in time to avoid a blow to the head. He punched at the burly teen, but missed as well and got kicked in the leg, a hiss escaping his throat as it collapsed in under him. He remained standing though, and quickly tackled Uriel.
The burly teen was caught off guard by the sudden assault, and fell to the ground, Sam going down with him. The Winchester punched Uriel in the face several times, his knuckles staining with blood as Uriel's broken nose began dripping more and more. He stopped after a moment, getting off and letting the burly teen get up.
"Leave. Us. Alone." Sam growled, watching as Uriel scrambled back and out of their sights. Sam took a shuddering breath, his hand automatically rubbing his leg where it was sore. He looked at Gabriel, who was watching with wide eyes, and smiled softly.
"Sorry it took so long." Sam said, a cheeky tone coming into his voice as the trickster slowly stood up. Gabriel walked over to Sam, wrapping his arms around the taller teen and pressing his face into his chest, tears flooding his face.
"I was so scared he was going to hurt you." Gabriel cried into Sam's shirt as the taller teen wrapped his arms around the trickster, shushing him softly. Sam's hand moved to Gabriel's hair, where he ran his fingers soothingly through the strands.
"I'm fine Gabriel. I'm fine." Sam said, comforting the teen gently. He looked down at Gabriel, smiling at him in a reassuring way, only to blush as Gabriel leaned up, kissing his cheek with a blush.
"Thank you for saving me." Gabriel said softly, nuzzling into Sam's neck as he done earlier that day. Sam's breath caught in his throat, and turned his head where his lips were brushing against Gabriel's temple.
"You're welcome." He mumbled, letting his free hand wander over Gabriel's back and shoulder blades, knowing that something more was beginning here.
