Rolling Along

When Bobby first woke up, he was greeted by the both concerned and relieved faces of Sam and Dean. Dean had allowed a smile to crack his face, while Sam sighed, leaning back in relief that his uncle had woken up.

"Welcome back, Bobby." Dean said, Sam nodding in agreement as the younger Winchester sat up again, his hands clashing together in his lap as Bobby rubbed his head, confusion littering his expression.

"What happened?" Bobby asked, his voice groggy and disgruntled as he tried to sit up, only to stop when Sam put a hand to his chest, easing him back down.

"John shot you Bobby." Sam explained, glancing at Dean with a worried look. "We managed to hold him off until the police got there, but..."

"But what? Spit it out son." Bobby snapped, obviously a bit high strung from the medicine. Sam cleared his throat, looking down at his lap awkwardly. Dean sighed, sitting a bit straighter as he looked at his uncle.

"You're paralyzed from the waist down. I'm sorry, Bobby. I really am." Dean said softly, allowing his uncle a moment for what he said to sink in. Bobby looked away, growling softly under his breath.

"I'll kill your father if I ever see him again." Bobby eventually said, looking over at the boys with a sad, gruff smile.  "But as long as you two are all right, then I guess I can live with no legs."

"We'll help you as much as we can, Bobby, and don't worry. They locked that bastard away for good." Sam replied, ignoring Dean's stare. He knew his brother is still not quite against John yet, but he wasn't about to hide his hatred for the man for his sake.

"What are we going to do now?" Dean eventually asked, letting out a sigh as he rubbed the back of his neck. Sam smirked, wrinkling his nose at his brother.

"Why don't you go see, Castiel? Surely you could find some good company there. I'll stay here with Bobby while you go visit him." Sam said with a teasing smirk, trying to lighten the mood. Obviously from the way Bobby smiled to the way Dean blushed bright red, it worked.

"Shut your face." Dean snapped, turning away from Sam as the younger Winchester laughed. Bobby shook his head, arching one eyebrow at the two of them.

"I didn't know Dean was gay. Whose this Castiel that you two are talking about?" Bobby asked, his voice calm and casual. It was almost strange how different John and Bobby actually was. This discussion with their father would have taken a greatly different turn.

"Castiel is Gabriel's brother. You should have seen Dean's face when he saw him. He was gasping and in complete shock." Sam said with a smirk, winking at Bobby as Dean opened and closed his mouth, trying to come up with defending words to say.

"I am not gay for Cas!" Dean said, looking completely unconvincing as Sam laughed even harder, tears forming in his eyes.

"Cas? Since when did you give him a nickname? You've only met him the other day!" Sam said with a happy smirk, poking his brother in the arm. "What did you guys do when you went into his room? Make out?"

Dean glared at his brother, shaking his head stubbornly. "No, you pervert! If you must know, he showed me his rock collection and all of his pictures of bees! That was it!" Dean snapped, looking away from Sam and crossing his arms over his chest.

"That's all? You were in there for quite a long time." Sam urged, trying to get more out of his brother. Sure, he enjoyed teasing his brother, but if Castiel could make him happy, he didn't care who Dean liked.

"That's all." Dean said firmly, obviously done with this conversation. Bobby, however, didn't seem to be, rolling his eyes at the two of them.

"Sam, stop torturing your brother." Bobby lectured, making Sam blush and duck his head sheepishly. "Dean....congratulations on finding someone you like."

Dean blushed, opening his mouth to complain, but he decided against it, clamping his mouth shut and nodding awkwardly. Sam felt a grin spread across his face, and he felt the urge to just hug his brother. Maybe Dean could finally be happy.

"I'm glad Bobby is alright." Gabriel said, smiling at Sam as the Winchester leaned against the smaller teen, letting out a sigh. Sam had went over to Gabriel's the minute he got out of the hospital, and currently had his arms wrapped around him a continuous hug, a slight smile on his face.

"I am too. It'll be rough on him, not having any legs, but he's tough, so I wouldn't worry too much." Sam said, staring at the wall of the living room, seeing a picture of a black haired girl hanging on the wall. "How are you guys doing?"

"I'm moving on." Gabriel answered, Sam going silent as he listened. "She wouldn't want me to waste my life away because she died, so I'll be happy and do what I always do. After all, when mom died, my pranks were the only thing that made her smile..."

Gabriel broke off, a small sniff coming from the smaller teen. Sam looked down, seeing tears making their way down Gabriel's cheeks as he smiled, his lips quivering slightly. Sam wiped his tears away with a thumb, shushing him gently as he held him close.

"Anyways, guess what Castiel's nurse said when she called?" Gabriel said, changing the subject and looking at Sam. The winchester shrugged, looking at the smaller teen expectantly.

"She asked if we knew a Dean Winchester and if he could visit. Apparently, Castiel really wants to see him again and is purposely causing the nurses headaches so they would ask." Gabriel answered, the smirk that crossed his face so familiar and made Sam so happy to see.

"Awww, our brothers like each other." Sam said, unable to stop smirking as he imagined Dean's face when he told him. "But I will certainly ask."

"Oh God, we might have competition for the cutest couple if they get together." Gabriel replied, a bit hesitant on giving the joke. But he was trying, and that's all Sam cared about as he dragged Gabriel onto his lap, squeezing him tightly around the middle.

"They have nothing on us, trickster."

So, this might be a bit rough around the edges. School has been stressing me out and I'm already taking a grade hit because I refuse to present in front of people that I don't know(the woes of going to a new school) and one of my teachers wants to read my stories because I mentioned visiting one and I'm a bit nervous about that. I decided to do Seeing the Sun for the First Time since it was one of my safer ones, but I don't know how she will handle the gay. But they also unblocked WattPad, so that's good.

On a happier note, the reason I didn't update since last week is because I was working on a cute new fanfic I decided to start. I really enjoy writing it and the chapters are around 2000 to 3000 words, making it quite long. I plan on finishing it before I start publishing chapters, but I'll let you know when I do.

Now, I'm going to be holding off on starting new stories until I complete at least a few more of these. I may post one-shots here or there if I get really good ideas, but this is so I don't forget a story(I know I have, don't yell at me for not updating it).

I think this story is not much longer either, maybe five or six chapters. I was asked if  I would do the Dean's POV of this story and maybe begin elaborating on the Destiel in this story. Would you guys read it if I do?

Well, you know the drill, I'm done rambling so make sure to comment(seriously, they make my day) and vote and all dat jizz(in the next few chapters ;) jk, or am I?)
