I was paging through the heavy tome when I, by chance felt something in my pocket. It was the paper I had placed in my pockets from the night that Father was almost killed. Only for a fraction of a second did I wonder how it had gotten in my dress (I enchant all my pockets to transport items I have in any other outfit pockets into the outfit I am wearing). I looked at the paper which was slightly dirty. I unfurled it and it read:

If you end Thor's banishment your girs will die, as you know. Also you must go to Midgard and tell Thor that the AllFather is dead. Remember when the time comes will are still counting on you to do our last wish. Do not fail us. The Fifth Column

"Yarnia!" I shrieked. She looked up from her book and when she saw the horror and panic on my face she hurried towards me. "Look." I whispered horsley as I thrusted the paper into her hands. I saw her face turn pale as she read it. "What are we going to do?" I asked solemnly. "I don't know." she replied equally as solemn. I stood up and shut my book which echoed like the sound of a sealing tomb. Every motion of my body felt somber. Get scared later, I told myself. "That is why Father went to Midgard, Yarnia!" I exclaimed. "Wait to go Captain Obvious!" she snarked. "Well now we know why he was acting so weird, but what are we going to do about it? Also who left this note and where did you find it?" Yarnia continued. "I found it when the intruders were in Father's room, I must have, when I hit the dresser, knocked it loose. That brings up another question I have not had time to ponder, who tried to kill Father and why?" "Well," Yarnia said, "whoever wrote this note has obviously wrote Father before, in the note it says "as you know". So maybe whoever wrote the note sent the assassins too." "Yes," I said catching her train of thought, "Maybe the note sender told Father to do something and he did not, or maybe he told something to someone that he was not allowed to." "So," Yarnia recapped, "What we know so far is that Father almost got killed, he is being forced to work for some guys because he is being threatened, and has to tell Thor that Grandfather is dead." "Yep, that is pretty much it." I stated. "We need to figure out who is sending these notes though." I continued. "I think it is the scarred man who tried to kill Father." Yarnia speculated "Well there is nothing that we can do until we have more information." I said. After a moment of silence, I said. "This is really bad." "Yes it is." Yarnia whispered. When she looked into my pale scared face I only saw hopelessness in her virescent eyes.
