Chapter Seven

"Hey wait up. We have to rest you know." Aerwyna said as she gasped for air.

"Look we don't have time to waste. If you can't make yourself useful in this journey, I wonder how you can be useful in the battle field!" The vampire said without much concern for poor Aerwyna.

She was exhausted. She tried to create conversations with her but she answered in a monosyllabic way.

"Seriously if we keep on moving at this rate I might die." Aerwyna said trying to gain her sympathy.

"Well, if you die I'd continue our journey without you because you're nothing but a pain in the ass."

"You're so rude" Aerwyna rolled her eyes.

"Get used to it little witch"

Aerwyna managed to walk for a few more meters before she collapsed on the floor.

"I can't...I have to rest...please"

"Fragile witch" She hissed and finally turned back and headed towards the tree Aerwyna was resting on.

"So what's the problem?"

"Well, I'm hungry and tired. I need to sleep."

"That's going to cause a huge setback in our journey but considering the fact that you're just a fragile witch, I'd stay by your side."

"Aww. Look who's nice"

"Shut up. Just this once!"

"Okay...okay" Aerwyna smiled as she looked at the sky.

Her companion sat down beside her too. For the first time, Aerwyna got the chance to look at her at a closer perspective. Daenerys had this captivating crimson eyes. She looked tough and determined. She had this brave and courageous aura that made one feel uncomfortable in her presence. After she ate the fifth fruit, Aerwyna finally spoke up.

"So since you won't tell me your name, why have you decided to raid the demons even though you know that you might die in the process?"

"Aerwyna don't you think it's better for you to mind your business?"

"Woah... stop being cocky okay...it won't hurt to tell..who knows maybe I could be of a little help you know"

"Well if you insist, I lost my family just because a demon went rouge and went on rampage. They used my little sister as an object for entertainment in their land. Now I don't even know what has become of her. I managed to escape by a hair's width. I promised my mum that if I could make it out alive, I'd dedicate my life to killing demons." A tear dropped out of the narrator's eyes. Aerwyna could feel the hatred and disgust she had for demons.

"So how many demons have you killed?"

"I don't know I lost count. What about you. Why are you heading to the demon's clan?"

"Well, a demon broke into our house and kidnapped my friend. I'm determined to rescue him."

"Interesting. Your first love?" Aerwyna eyes widened

"Hell no! He's just my childhood friend."

"I think we've had enough rest. Let's continue our journey."

Aerwyna was enthusiastic. As soon as she was about to get up, she had a splitting headache. It was so severe and she felt as if she wanted to pass out.
"Argh my head...it hurts"

"If this is another petty scheme to keep me here, it won't work. I'm off"

"No, I'm serious"

The vampire's figure began to look distorted in her eyes. She tried to look around but everywhere went blurry. It was as if someone slowed down time. She couldn't hear anything clearly.

"Aerwyna look at me...are you okay?"
That was the last thing she remembered before she passed out.

"Aerwyna we meet again."

"Where am I? What happened?"
Aerwyna's eyes finally adjusted to the light. She saw the lady that she found in her room some days ago.

"Well, I needed to meet you again, so I had to do it forcefully. Sorry if it hurts."

"Yeah, just like the way you abandoned me after making me a rebellious child"

"I also apologize for that, but what I have to tell you now is very important."

"Hold on. What's your name?"

"For now, just call me Philmaris." The woman said with a wide smile on her face.

"That name is weird though"

"The main reason why I came here is to tell you that Eldric is in grave danger. You have to get to him before the next two days because he will be killed if you don't help him."

"So what do I do now?"

"Increase your pace. Prepare yourself mentally because what you're going to face is going to change you forever."

"What am I going to face?"

"You'll know once you get there. I have to go now. Your vampire friend is already getting tired of you."

"Wait. So how do I get in contact with you when I need you? I mean, I can't just keep on having that headache and fainting over and over again right?"

"Just touch the necklace and say the magic words aranna aranamus and I'll appear."

"Okay. I'd do so"

"Goodbye little one"

Just like that, the lady disappeared and Aerwyna woke up. She saw the vampire looking at her face intensely.

"Woah you scared me." She said trying to light up the already tensed atmosphere.

"You stupid witch. I thought I had lost you. Do you have any idea how devastated I felt?"

"Oh my. She cares about me" Aerwyna said to herself

"Shut up. I felt bad that you didn't die by my hands!" She said smiling and purposely showing her canines.

"Oh my God. Stop that I'm really scared now." Aerwyna was not really scared meanwhile she thought the vampire had an incredible hearing capability.

"Since you're well, let's go."

"Yeah sure."

And with that, the two companions continued their journey to the demons clan. When Aerwyna and her vampire companion had gotten to the small demon's clan. Then, the vampire went on a rampage, killing all demons and elves in sight. She was too fast for Aerwyna, as such, leaving her to gawk in horror.

The vampire fought with so much hate and anger. One could see she was drunk on bloodlust.

"H-how did you do that so quickly and with so much strength!" Aerwyna asked no one in particular but the vampire replied.

"I am a thousand years old Aerwyna. That's how." And she carried on the massacre.

In a matter of seconds, all perished, except for an all too familiar dark skinned elf who was trying to slip away. The vampire opened her mouth wide enough for her fangs to come out while she let out a cry. Before she could attack him Aerwyna grabbed her arm. This made the vampire raise a brow.

"Well you're fast."

Yes, how did she do that if the vampire was extremely fast? But Aerwyna tossed these thoughts aside.

"You're going to break your promise!" Aerwyna shouted.

The vampire retracted her fangs and began breathing heavily. "I'm sorry. I'm not good at keeping promises"
