Chapter 36

Venom's P.O.V.

"Venom, I think we're going to war." Strike meowed and I looked at him in shock. "What do you mean we're going into war? You only went for herbs!" I looked at Moon and Strike through wide eyes.

"We had to go into ThunderClan to get catmint and wild garlic and we were almost caught and on our way back through WindClan they spotted us at the shore of the lake. Some cat in WindClan ordered the cats to warn Onestar - whoever that is - and she said they had enough of us." Moon explained and I began pacing.

"Onestar is the leader of ThunderClan. The deputy must've ordered them. We might have WindClan and ThunderClan battling us since you were almost caught in ThunderClan..." I muttered half to myself.

"We need to take immediate action! Let them threaten to beat us and then we'll beat them! We are all strong now, we can beat them." Fox hissed, slashing at the air, a deadly smirk forming. "Thorn, Strike, come with me. Fox, tell Leaf what's going on and no one else. We'll be back." I ordered, padding away with Strike and Thorn at my heels.

"Fang is watching for them I'm assuming?" I turned to Strike and he nodded.

"Fang! Anything?" Thorn called, padding ahead. Fang whipped around and shook his head, "Nothing. Not even a patrol. They must be making plans." Thorn nodded and Strike plopped himself on the boulder beside them.

"They might be going to ThunderClan to see if they would help them. Maybe they noticed our scent wasn't WindClan?" Strike mewed. Fang nodded, "That cats we almost ran into near the abandoned Twoleg nest might've told their leader."

"Bramblestar is the leader. Any cat with the name 'star' at the end is the leader. Onestar is WindClan's leader so Bramblestar is the leader of ThunderClan." I mewed, sitting beside Strike.

"Makes sense. They praise StarClan. " Thorn muttered and I nodded. "Thorn, I might keep you and Fang down here to keep an eye over here." I informed them and they nodded a few times.

"Strike, I need you to prepare for a battle. We will win this." I hissed to Strike. He nodded, "Of course. I found sorrel. Leaf said it was for strength and traveling. I can give a few cats sorrel and the rest will have to go on without it. I couldn't carry much." Strike told me as we padded up to the trail and into the camp. I nodded and thought for a few heartbeats.

"Give sorrel to me, Thorn, Shadow, Kink, Wolf..." I trailed away, thinking. 'Who was the strong cats in the Tribe?' "Fox and Dagger." Strike took in the names and nodded. "I'll try to give them some, I might not have enough."

Dipping my head, he padded into the medicine den and I found Fox talking with Storm. Storm seemed to be happier then ever when he talked to her.

'Fox is dangerous, but maybe he had actually found someone he liked? I looked over to spot Blossom mooning over Moon. Soot was grey, and Moon is too, I think she liked grey cats?'

Venom's P.O.V.

I couldn't sleep at all. I was glad to be woken up by Fang. A quarter-moon after Strike came back from WindClan and WindClan has just come now.

I padded out with Thorn, Fang, Wolf and Shadow. I stumbled down the trail and jumped onto a boulder, jumping from one to the other until I came to WindClan and our's border.

"Onestar." I dipped my head and the tabby only rose his chin.

"Venom," Onestar growled, taking a step forward. "WindClan and I are sick of trying to chase your warriors off of our territory. We won this territory fair and square. You need to stick to your own territory now, or we'll be forced to fight." Bramblestar nodded, taking a step forward.

"ThunderClan, too." His voice was bold and even, yet his eyes were shining with rage.

I smirked, stepping onto the ground. "Look. The territory you've taken camp to, was ours first. You came over, took over, and pretended we never lived here. I don't know where you came from, but where ever, it seems you take things a lot more then we do." I spat. A warrior beside Bramblestar tried to get passed him to get to me, but another warrior pulled him back. Bramblestar didn't try to stop him.

"We will never stop taking things and going into the moor, for it was once ours to begin with." I hissed, narrowing my eyes to slits.

"Why can't you just go to ShadowClan and RiverClan?" A call came from a cat, pushing aside others.

"They are Jagged Rocks territory, not ours. We respect their territory because they didn't steal it." I spat shoving my face into the cats face. She hissed and shoved her face into mine. "Get out of his face!" A grey she-cat hissed, shoving the cat out of the way. She stumbled and hissed at me.

I looked away, not flinching as I realized everyong was staring.

"You Clans have such a nerve to even live here." Shadow growled, stepping off the boulder. "Lets just fight them already!" Wolf growled, pushing past me and Shadow.

"Get your warriors." I hissed to Onestar, flicking my tail. "Fang, get all the warriors and tell them whats happening." I kept my eyes fixed on Onestar as I spoke.

"Bramblestar, this is between Venom and I." Onestar murmured to the muscular leader. Bramblestar nodded and left with the few warriors he had brought. WindClan had a lot of warriors then I remembered. 'Will we have enough with the deaths that occured?'

"I am sick of The Tribe of Rotting Skulls coming and going as they please. WindClan won this territory seasons upon seasons ago, and to this day StarClan has done nothing to say we should give you our territory. Not even a piece," Onestar announced, his voice echoing strongly.

"We were here first. Our Tribe has been here for seasons and I will never give up until I have what I want." I growled, raising my chin and unsheathing my claws.

"We don't have to fight, Venom. Just tell your warriors to stay off of our territory." Onestar reasoned, eyes calm and voice even.

I snickered, facing him straight on. My ear twitched and I held a stare. Finally, I muttered to him in a raspy voice, "What part of 'I want my territory back' do you not understand?" I narrowed my eyes, "This is war."

I stood in front of the leader, his face trying to hide the rage. I could sense how much he wanted to tear my ears off and watch me cry for help.

Before I knew it, his tail lashed once and everyone around - WindClan and the few warriors I had brought - began to fight.

Onestar slashed my muzzle before I could duck down. I growled and aimed a blow for his head but he dodged it. He stood straight and I began to tear at his face. He made some kind of yowl, in between a growl and a screech; very high pitched.

I hissed, dodging a hefty blow that made Onestar himself stumble. I backed away, then lunged at him and pushed him down. Onestar growled, baring his teeth and I rose my paw. Striking him a few times, I made him bleed, but I didn't get far because another warrior attacked me.

I turned around in a hurry, cutting deep into the cats cheek. I pushed it down and stood on my hind legs, bringing my front legs down on his ribs. Spit and all the air in the cat was forced out and I felt cats surround me. I bucked at one cat, feeling its face connect with my hind legs and then rolled away from another as two lunged.

I caught sight of Fang and a huge patrol as they yowled, ready to fight. I stood up and caught my breath, dodging another cat, the one I had cut right in the cheek. 'I want Onestar, not his puny warriors!'

I hissed, clawing at the cat again and again right in the face. The cat dodged a few and striked my front legs. I had to keep hopping back as the cat came at me like a snake.

As the cat tried to grab my feet and trip me, I stood up quickly on my hind legs and pounded down on his back. "Aaaaggh!" A gurgling sound came from the cat and I searched around for the light tabby.

I spotted him beating up Fang. I dashed at him, shoving into him with my shoulder. He stumbled, fell, and rolled into a bush. He sat up and I growled, clawing at his throat. His face was starting to heal already as I started to slash away at his throat.

He gasped, blood gurgled up in his mouth and he fell. 'Done and done.' I thought, looking away. The grey warrior spotted us and halted in the fight, eyes suddenly flooding with worry.

"Enough! WindClan, retreat, Onestar can't lose anymore lives to this. Go back!" I glared at the cat and she ordered a few roughed-up warriors to grab the leader.

"I know Onestar said we shouldn't give up some of our territory, but I cannot let battles like this happen. Remark the territory to where the Twoleg nest is. It seems far, but we have plenty of territory. We can deal with it." The deputy announced, looking defeated and drained of energy. Tails drooping and blood dripping slightly, she pounded away, leading the warriors back to their camp.

I felt victorious. It felt great to feel this way again. "Thorn, come with me. Shadow, take the warriors back." Thorn came in beside me, a small limp as he walked, and Shadow dipped his broad, black head, leading my warriors up to camp.

"Good thing no one was hurt badly," Thorn mumbled. I nodded, smirking. "I'm just happy we finally get some of our territory back. I have an idea." Thorn looked over at me with unease. 'Do you not trust my ideas?'

"This moons' Gathering, I want to send away a few warriors to go to the Clans Gathering. I heard they have it the same time we do. I want to hear what they talk about and if they complain about us." Thorn narrowed his eyes, the half-blind-light-blue-eye not as narrowed as the other.

"Sounds pretty good, actually. The Gathering isn't that far away; can't wait." Thorn mewed and I nodded.

I hurried along, coming to the place we agreed to take. "This is good enough for now. I'll win it all soon." I snarled, marking our territory line.

The territory line started by the path that went to separate ways, like a curved Y. The right path led to the lake while the left one a Twoleg nest. The territory line went from there to the top of the hill WindClan used to claim. It went to the edge of WindClan's old territory and then we headed back.

Leaf was basking in the sun when I got back, bones sticking out like crazy. 'Is she still not eating?' I wondered, padding past her with my eyes sizing her up. She looked so frail, with her short fur clinging to her frame and her muzzle dotted with grey showing age. 'Leaf is going to be killed within a quarter-moon if she doesn't die. We can't have elders here.'

I looked away and spotted Mini also lying in the suns rays. Ash was talking to Raven again, under my dens shade. The four other kits bounced around Storm, squeaking out questions. Storm looked hurt by the things they said and as I started walking toward her, Fox came in.

My stomach growled, making it hard to hear them. I couldn't hear them as is, just mumbles and faint words. I looked to the fresh-kill pile; it was actually half full. I heard the kits groan and then paws scrambled away. I sighed as I felt paws grab at my tail, "Venom! Venom!"

My lip twitched and I fought the urge to growl in their faces. Two were my kits and they needed to be treated fairly and nicely. I put on a bright smile and a fake-nice voice. "What?"

"We're bored! What should we do?" Froya mewed, coming to sit at my front paw. She was almost half way up my leg. I looked behind me and grabbed a bird. I opened the chest and grabbed a rib, feeling a satisfying snap as it broke off.

"Here." I sighed, tossing Sorrel the bone. It hit her in the chest. "One of you takes it and the others try to take it from her." I explained and Sorrel ran away, the three others trying to get it. Raven ran over and joined in while Ash tucked his tail over his muzzle and closed his eyes.

I sat down and watched the kits play around. Sorrel galloped away from the four kits, triumph glittering in her eyes. I smirked as Sorrel turned at the wrong time, smacking into Adder who was just coming back from a patrol. Thorn led it and my ears shot up. Worry was in his eyes as he trekked toward me.

"What is it?" I prompted, standing up. "It's Jabbed Rocks." He replied. I decided not to ask what he meant and padded in beside him. In the corner of my eye, I spotted Mini who was sitting up. Adder stayed behind.

I took deep breath as I ducked under the hole in the camp wall and padded slowly to he river. The water was starting to go down and the rocks on both sides were broken. Lurker was standing on the other side, silent. Cloud looked over and stood up. Lurker did, too.

"Venom." Lurker rasped. His eyes were drowsy and beaten, fur wild and stained blood all over his fur. "We need your help."

My ear twitched and I stepped to the river. "I know you probably hate us and all, but we've lost too many warriors and a lot of our territory to RiverClan. They're stronger now because the river thawed in this heat. We are all badly injured and I'm afraid without our medicine cat, Feather, we might all die." He opened his mouth to continue and I stopped him.

"Woah,, woah. Feather died? Who did you lose? What do you need?" I narrowed my eyes and watched as Lurker and Cloud glanced nervous looks to each other. 'Should I give them medicine?' I wondered.

"They raided our camp and destroyed our medicine and Feather. Hop is doing all she can to get medicine to the ones who need it, but there isn't enough to use because its only just thawing," Lurker responded blankly. "We don't need medicine, unless you say no to this."

My tail lashed in curiosity. "The Tribe of Jagged Rocks is falling, Venom." He paused for a long time and Cloud took over. Lurker didn't seem to know how to ask.

"Could we join your Tribe? Maybe just until we get it together." Cloud mewed. He tried to shake out his fur as a breeze blew through, but it didn't cover his bones that were showing in his face.

I looked at Thorn and he gave me a uncertain glance. I had no idea how to answer him. 'Could we trust them? What if they took over my Tribe for our territory?'

"What do we say? I don't know if I can trust them. They look hungry and in need of herbs, but I don't know." I whispered to Thorn, heads tucked down. "We can't let them die. I say give them medicine and help out with prey if they need it. Maybe we can even help with revenge?" Thorn suggested, shrugging. I narrowed my eyes and looked to my paws. I scratched the ground and sighed, looking up.

"This is what we'll do."
