Chapter 32
In case you guys don't know, I say east and west and north and south a lot. East is right west is left.

Thorn's P.O.V.
Shadow and I led the way into Twolegplace, hopping over the fence in one swift jump. "Alright, Shadow, take your patrol west, I'll be going east." I told him and he nodded, trotting away with his patrol.
"Dagger! You're with us," I called to him as he began to walk away with Shadow's patrol. He whipped around and padding over to us, joining our patrol. 'Mouse-brain,'
"If I don't remember, Slash, remember to bring the heads of our victims that are larger then us back to camp." Slash nodded and I led the way.
The rain pelted us as we made our way down the Twolegplace. The weird black dirt hurt my paws but I'd been through a lot more pain. I didn't like it how you couldn't dig your claws into the ground and there were barely any places to hide here, too.
"Thorn, I see a dog, a brown and black one, large." Slash reported from the top of a fence. 'Good thing he said it or I'd be dog food.'
I dipped my head and got into a stalking position. "Get ready, this won't be pretty." I whispered to the patrol and they spread out around the dog.
His huge head and long muzzle was set on his paws, tail tucked neatly around his hind legs. His shoulders rose and fell slowly as he breathed in. 'That massive skull would be perfect for one of our warriors' heads.'
The three other warriors waited for the signal, which I wasn't ready for. Slash waited - closer now - on top of the fence, crouched down. Dagger waited in front of a stone with steps, crouched down while Adder stood beside the fence, stalking closer to the dog.
I made my way slowly and quietly to the dog until I was at least a tail-length away. I raised my paw and the three other warriors pounded over, purposely waking the dog.
Stunned, the dog stood up and growled, taking in the view. "Now!" I yelled and Dagger charged at the dog. Slash stalked closer to the dog and I looked back in front of me.
The dog growled a low, terrible growl while Dagger clawed at his back. I backed away.
'This will be for them. To see how good they are with fighting on their own. Well, without a deputy or leader.'
I watched closely as they fought against the huge dog, sitting in the shadows. "Make sure to keep your tails close to you, its easy for the dog to grab!" I corrected and Slash looked over at me.
"What? Why aren't you helping?" He called, dodging the dog as he lunged for him. "Because, I need to make sure you can fight. This is one of your assessments after all." I replied, grooming myself.
Truth is, I actually was tired of fighting, but it wasn't all a lie. Slash needed to be assessed like all apprentices. For all I know, these two are the only ones who weren't just made warriors because we needed more or because they were complaining or something.
The dog dove for Adder - who had the dogs tail clamped in his jaws - and Dagger jumped back onto his back. He must've been bucked off. Dagger clawed at the dogs eyes and Slash slid away before the dog could pound on him. He was going to trip him, from the looks of it.
The dog yelped in surprise and pain, smashing his paws into a muddy puddle. "Aim for the throat now, Dagger!" I called and Adder let go of the dogs tail and stumbled to the ground. "Hurry up, we don't have all day for one fight!" I hissed loudly to them and Slash clawed at the dogs neck while Dagger drove his claws deeper into the dogs eyes.
The dog let out a terrible wail and stopped moving and collapsed. I padded over and saw he was still breathing but the cuts on his neck were bad. Hopefully he would bleed to death.
"Alright, now to get his head-" I sighed and then a Twoleg kit came out. He started wailing and a grown Twoleg came out. She gasped and grabbed a long stick with a fury end. She batted at the ground at us and we scattered.
"So much for the skull!" Dagger groaned, dashing beside me. "Oh well. We still have plenty of time to figure out how in Glittering Stars we're going to get a skull from a dog." I hissed, pushing harder.

Two Days Later...
Shadow's P.O.V.
Morning came all to quickly. I felt like I hadn't gotten any sleep but as soon as I came back from the patrol going to Twolegplace, I went to my den and slept. No prey or nothing. The day before yesterday, we went to Twolegplace. Yesterday we went to Twolegplace.
On the first day, Thorn's patrol and mine combined fought six dogs, - killed four of them - a fox, - killed it - at least fifteen kittypets and we killed almost all of them, two got away before we could do any damage. I know about Thorn's battles because he brought back several heads of his victims.
The kittypets' heads would be for apprentices, dogs' heads for warriors and the fox we got for Venom - so Venom had told us.
Word must have gotten around in Twolegplace. The second day - which we had the same weather as the day before: rain - that we went, it wasn't so good with the kills. We got three dogs and two kittypets. The Twolegs must be protecting them.
Venom didn't care, though. "We have enough to do us for now." He had said.
Now, I padded into the miserable camp. Everyone was tired and wet. The warriors had to move into the cave outside of camp, where the water wasn't taking over. The apprentices had to sleep in the nursery, which there was plenty of room since only seven cats homed to, six of them smaller then the apprentices.
Bella seemed to be a bit more happier then the rest of us, which made me just a bit happy. "Morning, Shadow! Thorn said to take someone to the river to check it out, so since you're not grumpy like the others, I'll take you!" Bella chirped, trotting up to the hole in the camp wall leading to the river.
The wall of stones that Jagged Rocks had made was a bit higher then ours but it was sloppier. I examined our wall of stones carefully. "The hard-mud isn't cutting it here," Bella mentioned, her voice harder to make out over the waterfall. I looked over at her and the waterfall was wider and faster, more water coming out of it then I've ever seen it.
Blizzard's scared face flashed through my mind, her wail for help as she fell into the cave below. I shook my head and focused on Bella. She was looking at me with a look of concern. Her mouth opened to say something, so I interrupted. I didn't feel like talking about Blizzard.
"Let me see," I meowed and padded over quickly. She was right, water was spilling out over the sides and through cracks between the stones. "Maybe we should fill in the cracks with more mud?" Bella suggested. I shook my head, "It'll collapse. We're going to have to just hope it doesn't brake." I replied, raising my voice so Bella could hear me.
"Oh no! Shadow, the water is coming over the edge," Bella gasped and my head snapped to where she ran over. I ran over and stumbled as I tripped in a hole we had dug to get the hard-mud. My face smashed into the wet grass and I groaned, shaking my fur out.
I stood straighter and looked at the stone wall. "It didn't last as long as we expected..." I growled, padding to the boulder we hauled over so we could look over the wall of stones.
The water was dangerously close to coming over the edge but as I examined it, water began to brake its way through the mud. It wasn't strong enough. The water began to come over the top and I hopped down. A few stones started falling where the waterfall came down from the Gathering Pool and where Bella stood.
"Watch out, I think its going to fall," I warned, calling to Bella who had been padding closer. Thunder crackled above and the sky lit up more. It was gloomy with the clouds above.
Just as the rain started pelting even harder, Bella padded to where the waterfall came down from the Gathering Pool and then the wall of stones crashed and rocks and water was sent down into camp. Bella was pushed down the current and into the camp so fast I couldn't move from the shock.
'Is this another nightmare?' I wondered; even if it was, I had to get her.
I ran along side the current and was forced to go into the water and go through the hole in the wall of our camp. The water was freezing and I was even more cold when I gasped for air, jumping from the current.
I was shocked yet amazed on how huge the stream was. It had tore its way through the camp wall and was becoming thicker and wider by the heartbeat. The rain didn't help any.
I searched the camp for Bella but I couldn't find her. The thunder crashed over head and the camp lit up. I saw Whip and Slash being dragged down the current in a huge speed. I caught sight of a head and a paw on the edge of out camp. It was Bella.
I dashed over to her; she was scratching her way, trying to get up again but the water in her face kept the rock wet and kept her from concentrating on climbing up. I grabbed hold of a root with my claws and reached down to grab Bella's scruff. In relief, she let go of the rock and I lifted her up, her stomach scraping on the edge of the cliff.

Whip's P.O.V.
Slash and I finished our prey and stood up. The patrols were just leaving, but Kink needed to finish eating before we could leave. The rain still pelted us even after four days, non-stop. Thunder crashed in the sky and the camp lit up as if it were sunny again.
I didn't realize till then how much the sun meant to me.
We stood up and I fluffed out my fur. I looked to the hole - where we left camp to go to the river, which we were sitting in front of - and gasped. Water burst into the camp, Bella riding the waves. Bella smacked into Slash and they were sent flying. I went along with them, the waters' current pushing me down.
Before I knew it, I was rolling off the cliff. I twisted my body and saw Slash. He was on the ground, blood spilling from his head. I wasn't focused on the ground, so as my paws collided with the rock trail to the cave the warriors stayed in, I rolled down painfully to the bottom of it.
I groaned and opened my eyes to the rain. I blinked the water out of my eyes and rolled over to my paws. "Slash!" I called, but he didn't move. He wasn't facing me, so I wearily limped to him.
"Slash," I whispered, nudging him. He only moved when I moved him. I padded to the other side of him and saw more blood. I picked him up by his scruff and had to tear his head off the ground. I looked to where the blood was starting to wash away and saw a pointed rock.
'At least he didn't suffer,'
I held my front leg up and limped up into camp. Slowly, but I got there.
Water was pulling at my paws as I made my way into camp. Lily and Mini and the six kits huddled on top of Venom's den. Venom and Thorn were no where to be seen and Kink was looking around, Bella helping her. She spotted me and rushed over. "I found them," She called over her shoulder to Bella and she trotted over in behind her.
"We didn't know where you were!" Bella hissed and looked to Slash, whom I was still holding up. Her eyes widened. My neck started to hurt by then, along with my shoulder and back. I set Slash down softly, water outlining his body as it made its way down and out of camp.
"Slash... This is all my fault, I should've moved out of the way, or grabbed him, I shoved him off the cliff... I didn't mean to but I did," Bella whispered, turning to Kink. Kink wrapped her tail over her and soothed her while Shadow came over and grabbed Slash's scruff.
"Who do you think you are to take my brother, let alone bury my him?" I scoffed, grabbing Slash from him. "I'm only going to bring him to somewhere so he doesn't rot away in this rain," Shadow replied evenly, grabbing him again. I went to speak again but Bella stopped me. "Whip, you can't carry him anymore your shoulder doesn't look good."
I growled and limped away, stopping where the water was fastest. "What the- What's going on?" Venom's gasp made me look over my shoulder to see his patrol coming back. The prey in their jaws made me gag. Fresh-kill was the last thing on my mind right now.
"Venom! The stone wall collapsed and the water-" Bella began, rushing over. He brushed her away, "I can see that. Why didn't you fix it?" He growled, looking over his shoulder. "The rocks were already falling by then, Venom." Shadow stepped in.
"I don't need to hear from you, tom lover." Venom hissed, picking up the prey he had set down to speak. Shadow growled and stepped away from Slash, unsheathing his claws. "Shad-" Bella began but he was already lunging at Venom.
Shadow charged into Venom, head first, and shoved him down into the current. The nearest cat to the river grabbed Venom, who was Kink. "Brake it up, no more of this." Thorn growled. He must've put his prey away.
"So it's alright for him to call me names, but I can't teach him a lesson?" Shadow snarled.
"It doesn't matter. He is our leader, you shouldn't treat him like that." Thorn replied evenly, running at the prey Venom had dropped in the river. He deposited it and sat on the below Venom's den.
"What a leader he's been, if you don't mind me saying." Adder hissed, looking away with his chin up. Sarcasm rung in his tone.
"Oh, whatever. Like either of you could do what I've done for this Tribe. You two are both crazy. I lost my whole kin - other then my kits - while you, Shadow, lost only Blizzard. Adder you still have a family, a sister. I haven't gone crazy, meanwhile you two are crawling around like zombies." Venom spat. "I don't want to be criticized or I will sentence you both to death."
Shadow growled and stood up straighter. "There's going to be a fight, I can tell." Fox growled, smirking. "What a fight this will be." He purred, sitting down beside me. I snorted and looked away. My eyes caught Slash's body. "Bella," I called and she turned to me. I gestured for her to come and she followed me as I grabbed Slash and left the camp.
