Chapter 14

Berry's P.O.V.

A prod in my side woke me up and I opened my eyes to see Scar. I got up and followed him, Claw and Jumper out. Shadow came out and joined the group. Surprisingly, Scar and Venom didn't tell him to leave. I turned my head away and paid attention to the world around me.
The stars were out and cats were going to there nests. I looked around the camp and it was quiet, not a sound other then the small breeze and our paws hitting the snow. The air was cold, very cold, and I fought to not shiver. I fluffed my fur out.
I turned back to Venom and Scar. "Where are we going?" I mewed quietly, making sure my voice was quiet. Scar turned his head and spoke, "We are going to a place. You'll have to wait and see where," I nodded and sighed.
We came to the edge of the territory, right at the river and padded over to the ledge.
'Oh no. . . They're going to push us off!' I thought dramatically. "Follow us," Venom mewed. We all nodded and followed Venom, Scar and Shadow to a cave, down below the ledges.
Claw, Jumper and I sat in front of them. Claw shuffled his paws and Jumper looked around while I watched the water drip off of the ceiling of the cave and into a small puddle that slowly was making a tiny stream to another bigger puddle.
"Scar and I wanted to bring you here to tell you how amazed we are that you went through all this just to recover Blizzard's body." Venom announced, his voice echoing through out the cave's wall. "Shadow would also like to say a few words to you," Scar mewed, his voice also traveling through out the cave.
"I just want to thank you three for finding her when no one else would," Shadow explained, "I may be quite happy that I can have her skull as well as my kin, but I still cannot sleep." Claw and I exchanged glances. Shadow went on further, "I know none of you know how she died or what she felt, but that's the reason I can't sleep. Anyway-"
"Wait." I interrupted, opening my mouth to speak but the words wouldn't come out. I searched on how to say it. "When I was down there... I saw Blizzard's soul," Shadow's eye went wide, "You did?" He breathed in shock. I nodded and continued. "I ran to her and touched noses with her. Instantly I was sent into the past and I saw and felt what she went through. She heard your cry but she was too cold to answer and when she went to sleep, she never woke up.
"She thought you were coming for her, but no one did. She froze to death within that night and her body has been there ever since." Silence went with the end of my story and Claw spoke up soon after. "Yeah! And Jumper and I thought Berry was dead. It was weird, her eyes went grey, her head was up to the sky and her jaw was wide open, she wasn't breathing either," Claw insisted happily. 'It still excites them?'
"Thats. . . Thats just. . ." Shadow whispered, mostly to himself, and trailed off.
"Anyway, we also brought you down here to tell you that even though we are proud of you about your bravery, we also think it was a mouse-brained idea to risk your lives like that," Venom explained evenly, showing no emotion what-so-ever. We nodded, Claw looked back down to his paws while Jumper held his ground. "We just thought that it was the right thing to do," he mewed.
Scar dipped his head, "We understand that but you could've gotten stuck down there like Blizzard had if Whip hadn't noticed."
After a moment of silence, Venom spoke again, this time with happiness. "We are mostly proud that you are safe and that you have brought back Blizzard."
Then Shadow did his share of words, speaking stronger then usual. "And in return Venom will make you warriors." We jumped to our paws in surprise and excitement. "Oh my, oh my! We're going to be warriors! This is amazing!" I cheered. "Oh thank you, Venom! Oh thank you, thank you, thank you!" Claw chirped. Jumper jumped around the puddles happily. "No, thank you." Venom mewed.

Venom's P.O.V.

Being nice is one thing, but giving a reward to apprentices for doing something so mouse-brained is another thing. We all knew where Blizzard's body was, I hope anyway. She had slipped into the river and rolled down it. Shadow tried to get to her, but of course, the current took her away too fast. Skull ordered that no one was to look for her, and no one did. He hated Blizzard but I think I was the only one to notice.Good thing he's dead or he would have killed those three.
I hissed in annoyance as the cats below took forever to get settled. 'Well, it is a big moment for them, I should be happy for them.' I sighed and raised my tail for silence. Good thing I'm leader.
"Berry, Jumper and Claw have done a heroic thing for Shadow and the Tribe," I announced, the Tribe listening like hawks. "And today, Shadow, Scar and I have agreed to make them warriors." I turned to Berry, Jumper and Claw, deciding to explain why they weren't made warriors sooner, "Scar and I are very sorry we haven't made you three warriors when you should have been made warriors long ago. With so many battles I haven't had time to plan your warrior ceremony." They dipped their heads, and I continued.
"Berry, from this moment on, you'll be known as Blossom. Your name matches you, your fur is colorful and you can be delicate like a flower, yet poisoness. The Tribe of Glittering Stars honors your courage and leadership skills," I jumped down and touched noses with her and continued, "Jumper, you are almost as old as Fawn. The Tribe of Glittering Stars honors your patience and strength. From this moment on, Jumper, you'll be known as Fox. You are sneaky and your fur is as red as a fox, giving you the name Fox." I craned my neck and touched noses with the newly made warrior. 'Now for Claw. . .' "Claw, you may not be as courageous as Blossom and Fox, but you are a very good fighter to have around and The Tribe of Glittering Stars also honors your skills," Claw's eyes were bright excitement, his tail whipping across the snow covered ground, "From this moment on, Claw, you'll be known as Soot." I stepped forward and touched noses with the new warrior.
"Soot! Fox! Blossom!" The Tribe chanted. The three warriors let the Tribe congratulate them while I met up with Scar who was sitting off to the side. "They've never been so happy before," he murmured, not taking his eyes off of the three. "Yes, I know." I muttered. "But have you forgotten? We've had a huge threat lately, not just WindClan but the twolegs. They've been moving in too close." I hissed at him and his ears shot up. "Right, what are we going to do? We can't just make them change their minds." Scar mewed, concern filling his voice.
"Or can we...?"
