Venom's P.O.V.

I jumped down to the first ledge with a stick clamped in my jaws. I had heard them yowling to each other; one part stood out to me the most. "It's a dead end!" Berry had cried down to them.

I knew I had to get a branch to get them up. They were on the opposite side. The side where you couldn't get up after so much if easy ledges.

I glanced up at the waiting patrol and saw that they were still fighting with that hawk. I rolled my eyes and hopped down to the next. I unsheathed my claws in a fright as I slid down and I pushed off into a cave.

I rolled into a pool, realizing sticks were sticking out briefly in a small pool of glittering water.

I flattened my ears and grabbed one in my jaws. Clamping down on it I leaped out of the cave and aimed for a ledge. I landed nicely on the ledge and - other then the fact that I almost slid off the other side - it was perfect.

Finally reaching the last ledge I laid down the branch and got ready to yell to the three waiting cats. But my eyes widened as I caught sight of fur on Berry's head. It wasn't her head, it was someone else's skull.

'It was Blizzard's!' I shook my head, clearing my thoughts, and called to them, "Berry, grab on!" She turned, surprised of my unexpected appearance and stretched out to grab it in her jaws.

She did so and I lifted her up into the air, about a tail length. She scratched at the wall and eventually pulled herself up. "Go up, we will speak when everyone is with you," I hissed, not making eye contact.

I stretched just outside of the warrior's den and shook my fur out, giving it a quick lick. The clouds were starting to disappear from the sky, what a relief! I saw that Whip was a bit worried, Slash as well.

Trotting over to them I stood beside their pacing bodies. "Whats gotten into your fur this morning? You two look as if your mothers dying." I meowed, concern filling my tone. Then a thought came into mind, "She's not really dying is she?" I asked, smiling but hope that my joke wasn't real filling the question.

They shook their heads, "No," Whip began, "Claw, Berry and Jumper went missing. But I found them." I snickered, "Okay. But why are you so concerned? If you found them, you should be happy!"

"Well... I found them down the waterfall. I got Venom immediately and warned him." Whip trailed off. "Those mouse-brains! What in the name of The Tribe of Glittering Star's were they doing down there?" I hissed, mostly to myself. Whip shrugged.

'Great, now those three are going to be killed because of their stupidity.'

Sunny's P.O.V.

I slumped my shoulders as I say at the hole leading to the river bordering us from Jagged Rocks.

Venom was taking way longer then anyone had expected. It was already sundown and they still weren't back. Suspicion of whether or not him and the three cats were okay troubled the camp. Without our deputy, leader or medicine cat we had no clue what to do. Leaf left with them in case they were hurt, Scar went to help and Venom was the leader, so he had to go.

Kink and I were on guard. Everyone said that Mini should be the "leader" until they got back, so she made the announcements of everything while they were gone.

Kink flicked her tail. Sitting up, I twitched my ears. "What's up, Kink? Do you hear something?" I whispered. She nodded. I straightened my ears and craned my neck to listen. Kink was right, there was definitely heavy paws near the trail.

She turned her head to face me slowly with her eyes still darting from side to side. She finally made eye contact and whispered back, "And it isn't the sound of cats. Go tell Mini. We should check on the sound." I nodded and quietly rushed over to Mini. She respected Venom's cave and was eating a small mouse by herself beside the cave.

"Mini, Kink and I hear some loud paws down at the edge of the trail. We are going to go check it out, okay?" She nodded then mewed, "Bring Dodger and Mystery with you, just in case." I dipped my head and padded into the warriors den. Making my way around the warriors to get to the two, I prodded them both quickly, quietly explaining the situation.

As silent as a hawk, Kink led the way down the trail with Dodger and Mystery on my tail. "Do you think WindClan is attacking again?" Dodger asked, spitting out WindClan's name as if it were poison. Kink shook her head, whispering, "The paws sounded very heavy, more like dogs."

With Kink's kinked ears, you would think her hearing would be a little off but to be honest, it is amazing how good it is. She can hear everything that goes on. Well, not everything.

We nodded and the end of the trail came into sight. The boulders blocked the view of anything behind them, which meant we had to sneak around them to find what was making such a racket. Kink halted at the first boulder and her fur stood on end. I listened and heard ripping fur and growls coming from around the rocks.

We slowly creeped around the boulders, and every cat except Kink let out a gasp. "Shh! Shut up! They'll hear you!" Kink rasped, her voice edged in fear.

Four huge dogs stood in between two boulders just beside our territory mark. They were furry and gray with huge teeth. I got a glimpse of one of their evil eyes; they were bright yellow edged in hunger. The four dogs looked bigger then the normal ones we've always seen around. The four grey dogs barely looked up from whatever they were feasting on.

"Wolves!" Mystery gasped, eyes wide. "Wolves? What in the name of Tribe of Glittering Stars are they?" Dodger snarled. Mystery rolled his eyes and pointed with a paw, "That! That's a wolf. They are worse then dogs, they can kill a horse for crying out loud!" "Shut up, shut up, shut up!" Kink whispered impatiently through clenched teeth. 'Great, just great. Four wolves around. They are bound to kill off out Tribe!'

"We have to fight them off." I meowed. "Shh," Kink hissed. "Quiet your voices down! They're going to hear you!" She whispered. "Thats a stupid idea. Thats how Thorn lost his face, to a wolf. The wolf was a loner so he only lost that side. Now if it was a pack like this, then Thunder and Dragon wouldn't be alive along with Thorn," Mystery pointed out. "Well, we can't just let them slowly find us and eat us alive!" I growled loudly. Paws flew over my mouth and they all hissed in my face, "Shh!"

My fur went hot with embarrassment and we all froze when we heard growling come from not far away. We peeked around the boulder and saw that the wolves were coming straight for us, lips curled.

We screeched and darted for the trail. "We can't go up the trail, we'll bring death to the Tribe!" Dodger called. "He has a point. Go for the trees!" Kink called quickly, changing courses and heading toward the nearest tree.

I gradually clawed up to the first thick branch I saw. I noticed that Dodger didn't come up. "Where's Dodger?" I called up to Kink who was a branch higher then me. She leaned her head down and called back, "He's gone to seek help." I nodded. "And Mystery is running around, keeping the wolves occupied." "What?! You can't let him stay down there by himself, the wolves are bound to kill him!" I gasped, jumping down to the ground again.

I spotted the wolves chasing after Mystery and one was missing. I looked around and saw that the wolves were luring Mystery into a death-trap. "Mystery! Watch out!" I yowled to him, running after him and the wolves.

Once I was close enough, I jumped onto one of the wolves' backs and attacked him with unsheathed claws. I bit down on its ear and it yelped in surprise. The wolf spun around and flung me off, pinning me down. The air in my chest was whirled out when it's giant paws collided with my chest. I slashed its nose and slithered my way out of his giant paws. Running away, I headed as quickly as I could toward WindClan territory. "This'll teach them!" I murmured to myself, looking back at the wolf as it gained on me. My heart was racing at the thought of being alive. Adrenaline pulsed through my blood and I felt a rush.

I dashed through WindClan's moor and tumbled over a body. "Oof!" A soft mew sounded from underneath me. I quickly got up and saw a small apprentice.

"Intruder!" The little she-cat yowled in alarm. The patrol came up from behind her and curled their lips back in a warning snarl. "What are you doing here?" One black tom snarled. "Oh nothing, just bringing in a friend."

I flicked my tail to the wolf dashing down the hill and getting closer by the heartbeat. Another wolf followed it, blood staining the muzzle from the kill. The WindClan cats gasped in horror and ran off, ears back and voices ringing in alarm. I ran after them, climbing up a tree when the wolves were out of sight

It ran straight past the tree trunk and toward WindClan warriors. Once the grey bodies disappeared I let out a small yowl of excitement. "Wahoo!" I cheered to myself, "Who's the master? I am!" I chirped, jumping down the tree and landing perfectly.

Chin raised, tail high and energy bursting, I ran back to our territory and saw that the last wolf was beating our cats. Kink, Dodger and Mystery were fighting with one, Mini and Shadow with another while Fawn and Midnight ran at different wolves, one to Dodger's and the other to Mini's. Surprisingly, Shadow was actually fighting. Thats unlike him.

'They seem like they're fine, they don't need my help,' I thought, running up the trail and into camp. As I went in, I saw that Berry, Claw and Jumper were back. Venom was talking to them and there was a skull beside Berry, one with familiar fur.

I trotted up to them and sat beside the three cats. "Do you understand?" Was all I caught from the conversation between the four. The three apprentices nodded and stalked away to the apprentices den. I watched them go until they disappeared.

Once they did, I turned back to Venom. "What were they doing down there?" I asked, astonished. He shook his head, sighing, "They went down to find Blizzard's body so Shadow would be better." My mind popped in realization of who the peeled skull was once homed to. "Oh! That's who it was.." My voice trailed away.

He nodded, then after a little bit he mewed, "Whats with these "heavy paws and loud growls" I'm hearing about? Dodger informed me about it then ran back down to help," I explained from the time we heard them to the part when we attacked. I even included the part when I lured the wolf into WindClan's territory.

He dipped his head and meowed, "Very good. But the WindClan part wasn't the best choice. They might launch an attack," I nodded in understanding. "Right, sorry," I apologized.

He nodded once and padded away, towards his cave. Scar hurried over and into the cave just after Venom went in.

Berry's P.O.V.

We padded into the apprentices den, tails down in shame. I settled down in my nest along with Jumper and Claw. "Great. Now were going to be sent to do annoying duties for another ten moons!" I muttered, lashing my tail in anger. Jumper rolled his eyes, "I highly doubt he'll do that. I think he will reward us for being brave." He put his chin up while Claw put his on his paws, closing his eyes. "I think it will be in between." Claw murmured, half asleep with his eyes closed.

"What kind of idea was this anyways? You two are complete mouse-brains!" I complained. "Ha! Right, and your not?" Jumper snapped. I hissed at him, my fur standing on end. "No, I'm not! I didn't want to come from the start! This wasn't my idea!" I spat. "Then why didn't you just go back to sleep? We wouldn't mind. But no, you just had to blame everything on us!" Jumper yelled. I felt hot with emotions; mixed with hurt, rage, shame and fatigue. "Because... you two... I..." I stammered, looking to my paws and giving up.

I heard shuffling and I lifted my head, Jumper's back was to mine. "Humph!" I grunted, getting up and going to the other side of the den. I closed my eyes and waited for Venom to come speak to us, drifting to sleep.
