3 Moons Later...
~Sunny's P.O.V.~
A blizzard had started over night and the snow was piling up quickly. The apprentices den had to be moved up to the nursery, thats how deep it was. The warriors were constantly digging the den back out, since it was in the ground. The nursery was to small to hold kits, apprentices and warriors. With the amount of snow so early in leaf-bare, there was no way we could survive the cold.
I tried reasoning with Venom to take us to the local farm where it was warm and plenty of prey, but he simply said no.
The apprentices and kits were ordered to not come out in this weather; the snow would pelt there fur, whiskers and tail right off, Venom had warned. The snow was unbearable. It had already snowed twice so far and with the storm, it was making the camp much worse. Before the snow storm we were having, each night it would rain a tiny bit, making the snow iced over. I had been walking out of camp and the cursed ice-snow cracked and my paw fell through. I had cut my leg trying to get it out because of the ice.
I squeezed out into the storming clearing. I hurried over to Venom's den. He was softly snoring as his dreams carried him out of reality. I flicked my ear, "Venom," I whispered, prodding his side. "Venom. Wake up, the patrols have to leave now." His eyes blinked open and his gaze landed on me. Yawning and stretching he nodded and slowly padded out into the clearing, jumping up top of his den. "Scar, take a patrol with Kink, Bella and Fawn over to the cave below the camp and behind the training centre. Midnight, lead a patrol with Dodger, Shadow and Sunny over to the barn at the edge of WindClan's territory." Venom announced, "Sometimes you just have to take risks."
"I will take Jumper to WindClan's territory. It may be in Clan territory but we need to get prey. We are dangerously low," Venom called, Jumper hopping to him. "And the first patrol back must check the skeletons of the dead,"
I followed behind Midnight as we left the camp. "Why did he make us go to the WindClan territory? We're four to a hundred!" Dodger complained. "Stop complaining, Dodger. We need fresh-kill and it was our territory first," I hissed at him, narrowing my eyes. "I hate WindClan. All they do is complain about us being to close to their borders." Midnight snarled, "Ever since the battle they've been threatening us. We haven't gone no where close to there border." Dodger exchanged glances with Shadow. "Until now," Shadow muttered under his breath.
We crossed borders without hesitating and trotted across the edge of their territory until we got to the horse-place. I ran to the fence and checked for any twolegs. "The cost is clear Midnight." I whispered over my shoulder. He dipped his head, saying nothing in return.
"I heard that Killer killed all of the horses and twolegs here. And when he died, his spirit still roams the place." Dodger meowed. I shook my head, jumping down to stand in front of him. "Dodger, that's a myth. Killer couldn't do that much damage." Dodger sighed low and raised his chin.
"Hurry up you two, or we'll leave you behind." Midnight snapped. Sighing, I climbed over and padded behind Shadow. As we came to a halt in front of the huge door, we realized the door was shut. "Maybe we can climb to the top loft and go in from there?" I suggested. "And risk dying as we come out? I think not!" Dodger spat. "Sunny, Shadow, check the back for any holes. Dodger and I will check the sides."
I nodded and lead the way to the back. Once there, there was no sign of any way in. Shadow sniffed at the walls down on the ground and I clawed at it. No use. I saw Shadow spring up and begin to dig at the ground.
He stopped, "Do you think its big enough?" He whispered, not looking away from the hole he had dug.
I nodded and squeezed through, my haunches getting stuck. My eyes widened, "I'm stuck, Shadow!" I called through the wall, hitting it with a paw. Panic rose inside of me an I tried my best to get myself through. "Push me through," I demanded.
"Okay," He called. I felt his shoulder pushing at my rump and I tried to scramble away but I was completely stuck. Grunting and panting for a heartbeat I tried again, screwing up my face with effort.
I felt one back leg squeeze through then the other. I popped my head out at Shadow, "Thanks!" He nodded. "Now you; lets dig it bigger."
I scratched at the bottom until the hole was about his size and I called, "Ready, come on in!" "Are you sure I won't get stuck?" He fretted. "I'm sure," I insisted.
I saw his head pop in and he pushed his way through, flying at me when his body was free. We rolled until he had pinned me down. 'Wow, his eyes are beautiful!'
We stared at each other for a few more heartbeats before he got off me. "Sorry," he murmured. "Why are you sorry? I should have moved out of the way," I meowed, "Lets go get Dodger and Midnight." He nodded and sat down, waiting for me.
I stuck my nose back out and called to them. "Dodger, Midnight, we found a way in!" I heard a distant call from the other side, "So did we!" I ran to the side I heard them from and waited for them to come. "Hurry up Dodger, your smaller then me and I got in easier!" Midnight spat. "Yeah yeah, I'm trying. It just means I have a lot more muscle then you." He growled, his body slipping through the small hole. Midnight turned his head and spotted me.
I turned to find Shadow and I leaped up in shock as I saw him beside me. He is as sneaky as a fox! I took a deep breath and calmed down before sitting and waiting. Once the two warriors padded to us, we began our hunting.
I went up to the top and almost immediately a strong odor of cats and mice hit me like a tree branch. I stalked up to a hay bale. A mouse sat nibbling on a seed. 'Perfect.'
Wriggling my haunches and getting into the perfect position, I leaped at it and killed it with a nice killing bite. "Nice catch," I heard an unfamiliar voice meow. I spun around and saw two cats watching me.
"Who are you?" I growled, teeth clenched and fur raising in defence. "Us? I am Mystery and this is Thorn." The cat with curled ears and white with black fur meowed. I flicked my ear and sat down, my fur lying flat. They didn't seem so bad, except the fact that Thorns right cheek was all claw-mark scars. "And you are....?" Thorn meowed.
"Me? I'm Sunny, from The Tribe of Rotting Skulls." Mystery's ears shot back against his head, "The Tribe of Rotting Skulls, eh? Those cats who cause trouble throughout the Clan territories?" I nodded slowly. "They deserve it anyway." I mumbled. He looked me up and down, "A delicate she-cat like you couldn't do that much damage, especially with that name."
"My name is Sun but they call me Sunny. I am actually a great fighter, you know." I informed them. "I'm also the strongest in the Tribe." I heard paw-steps come from behind me and I looked to see Dodger,
"Ha! Right, you? Sunny, you barely can kill a cat. I, for your information, can kill three at one time." He meowed. I rolled my eyes. "And this is Dodger, one of the biggest liars you'll ever see."
They dipped their heads. "I have always had a taste for killing, and if you'd like, I could join your Tribe." Thorn meowed. "Lily and I as well. We would love it if we could," Mystery meowed. "But you seemed hostile when I mentioned I was from the Tribe of Rotting Skulls." I pointed out to Mystery, narrowing my eyes. He nodded, "I thought you were here to kill us." He shrugged.
"Dodger, get Midnight and Shadow. Now." I ordered the newly made warrior. He nodded and jumped off the loft.
I waited patently for him to come back. When I looked back, another cat was standing there. "Who is she?" She whispered. "Sunny, from the Tribe of Rotting Skulls. Don't be alarmed, they were only here to hunt." Mystery whispered to her.
The she-cat looked quite hostile but didn't say anything to tell me she wanted nothing to do with me. The three warriors appeared. "What is it you wanted us for, Sunny?" Midnight asked. "Mystery, Thorn and the grey she-cat wanted to know if they could join our Tribe." I explained and Midnight thought for a moment. Finally, he spoke again. "I'm not sure if Venom will allow more cats, but with low warriors, its worth a try." He turned to the three farm-cats, "We can ask him. If you want, you can come with us." Thorn nodded happily. "Lily, get Thunder and Dragon awake, I will carry one." "But it's storming out, won't they freeze?" Lily fretted quietly but Thorn shook his head simply. "It's alright. How far is your camp?" "Not too far..." Midnight mewed.
Lily hesitated but reluctantly turned and grabbed her two tiny kits.
"How old are they?" Shadow asked as they wobbled to me. I purred as the batted softly at my legs. "They are two and a half moons old." Shadow nudged Thunder and he spun around, batting his nose playfully.
'I can't believe we're going to take in five random cats...' "Hurry, before the snow storm gets any worse." Midnight warned.

We trudged up the trail, the snow pelting our bitter cold faces. We finally got to the camp and Venom looked up from washing his pelt in the entrance of his den. He pricked his ears and padded over. "Come to my cave, all of you." He growled as we got close enough to hear over the wind.
We all ran into Venom's cave and sat down. "Who are the new-comers?" He asked once we settled down. "This is Mystery, Thorn, Lily and her kits, Dragon and Thunder." Midnight meowed, "We met them at the barn we went to. They wish to join the Tribe." He dipped his head and sized the five up. "Do you know how to fight?" He questioned. "Mystery and I are quite the fighters, but Lily here, she doesn't know good fighting moves." Thorn explained. Lily shook her head. "With kits and these two, I assumed I didn't need to know that much."
Venom narrowed his eyes. "I will challenge you tomorrow. Lily, I will accept you and your kits to the Tribe, under one condition." Venom meowed, "Once your kits are ready to leave you, you must immediately learn fighting moves." She gasped, "Leave me? What do you mean?" "To become apprentices." Lily nodded but didn't speak.
"I cannot bring any cats out in this weather condition, so for now you will not be announced until the weather slows down a bit." Venom announced, padding to the entrance to his cave and looking over his shoulder. "Lily, you can rest here for a bit. Thorn and Mystery, you too. Midnight, tell them about the camp while your here."
He dipped his head and started once Venom, Dodger, Shadow and I exited his cave. I could only hear mumbles once I got out into the blistering cold winds.
I groaned. The snow was making me really frustrated. 'Why do we have to go through an ugly snow storm almost every morning? Its annoying!'
