The Table Flip

Alya Césaire knew Ladybug was Marinette Dupain-Cheng.

Alya Césaire knew Marinette loved Adrien Agreste.

Alya Césaire also knew Adrien Agreste was Chat Noir.

And that Chat Noir loved Ladybug.

And most importantly, Alya Césaire knew the heroes got a little too close last night ... in their civilian identities ... after an akuma attack ... in front of her and her fantastic phone, her phone which had a camera.

So what else should she do when her 12-megapixel camera was right there, all snug and warm in her pocket? Take a picture of course.

Adrien Agreste is Chat Noir.

Last night, in his eyes, Chat Noir did something stupid.

Marinette Dupain-Cheng is Ladybug.

Last night, in her eyes, Ladybug did something even more stupid than her partner.

Last night two heroes did something that would lead to something completely and remarkably ... right?

Alya sat in her seat and flicked through the photos giggling to herself. Thank God her transformation dropped off first, this was too good to have missed. Nino slid next to her at her table and looked at the scene currently displayed on her phone screen.

"No way!"

"Yes way," Alya began to laugh again. This really was gold. "Stay in Marinette's seat today." She winked at her boyfriend and let out another giggle.

"She's going to kill you." Nino placed a chaste kiss on his girlfriend's cheek ready for the aftermath of this revelation. It seems Marinette planted a smacker on Adrien's lips last night. Who knew the girl had it in her?

Lifting her head, she looked over to the doorway. Here he was the mighty Adrien Agreste, looking as sheepish as possible as he made his way over to the bench in front. He looked up at Nino noticing he was in a different seat.

"Traitor," he mumbled, sliding in and settling down.

Nino laughed as he patted his friend on the back.

"Dude, just own it."

Nino didn't know everything, but he knew enough thanks to Alya's crazy phone calls and Adrien's manic texts.

"Oh look, here she is."

Adrien's headshot up to the door only to find Marinette standing with her eyes wide open. She looked at the seat next to him and then up at Alya, before slowly moving to the seat next to Adrien grumbling some very colourful words under her breath.

He stared at her and she looked away. Alya laughed and Nino cringed.

"Traitor," the words left Marinette's mouth without care, because that is exactly what her friend was. A big, fat, traitor.

"Are we going to speak about it?" Adrien bent down towards Marinette and whispered in her ear.

"There's nothing to speak about." Marinette replied.

"Marinette, please,"

A chuckle sounded behind them.

"Alya, stay out of this." Marinette hissed.

"Sure, sure." Her friend replied.

As Adrien tried to talk to a non conversational Marinette, the third party to make the day more interesting arrived.

Welcome player three to the game, Ms. Lila Rossi.

Nino's phone rang suddenly causing the young DJ to stand from his seat.

"If there's going to be a big dramatic scene, wait until I get back." He said, making his way down the steps and out of the door.

"Of course," she responded, "I can't flip this table by myself." Alya dropped him a wink before turning her attention back to the couple in front, now in a whispered argument. She pulled out her camera and hit record, you know, for her own personal records and, of course, her wedding speech for the happy couple.

"You pushed me off you," Marinette growled.

"Well it's not like you gave me a chance to understand what was happening." He gasped.

"Oh sorry, but I thought me placing my lips on yours was kind of obvious. Isn't that what you've always wanted?"

"If I understood why, then yes." He hissed back.

"Yeah well I'm not doing it again. You made your point crystal clear."

"Point? Clear? Marinette, I had no point! I never said - you never gave - I'm confused." He placed his hands in his head and positioned his elbows on the table.

Sashaying over to where Adrien and Marinette were having internal breakdowns, she walked past Marinette only to 'trip up' the stairs. She dropped down with a scream before bursting into tears.

"Marinette tripped me," she shouted out between crocodile tears.

"I'm not in the mood for this today," Marinette wiped a hand over her face as she moved out from behind her table.

"I don't know what you tripped over Lila but it has nothing to do with me."

The class had moved in and begun to help Lila up. Marinette swiftly moved into her normal seat and sat herself down heavily.

"Marinette, how could you?" Rose asked, fawning over the liar.

"Rose, I didn't do anything, I promise."

"She did. All because she's jealous of my latest shoot with Adrien." Lila continued.

More and more people began to fawn over her, soothing the 'poor girl' and throwing insanities at Marinette. Slamming her head on the table she hid herself away from the world.

Until someone spoke up ...

"Enough!" The voice was stern and very unexpected from its owner.

Adrien moved past Alya to stand next to Marinette causing the red head to move down to Adrien's old space being joined by a bouncing Nino.

"I didn't miss anything!" He screeched in excitement, clapping his hands in front of his body. Alya nodded before shhh'ing him and pointing to the camera.

"Marinette did nothing and you know it!" Adrien placed a hand on Marinette's shoulder. She tensed at the contact remembering the way he pushed her away the previous evening.

"Adrien, how can you stick up for someone who is such a - a - a bully." The room gasped at Lila's words.

"That's a bit harsh, Lila," Kim said.

"How can you say that?" Alix responded.

Muttering over took the class as Lila turned her glare firmly onto Adrien.

"I can't believe you're defending her," Lila let out another loud sob, clutching her hands in front of her chest.

"Why wouldn't I defend the girl I love?"

Another gasp circulated around the room, shocked by Adrien's confession. Lila let out a bitter laugh.

"Yeah, right!" She scoffed.

"Yeah! If I didn't love her I wouldn't do this."

Adrien pulled Marinette up, spun her around by her shoulders and dipped her into a kiss for everyone to see. Oh yes, Alya was happy the camera was still on them, the wedding speech was going to be awesome.

As Lila ran out crying the atmosphere in the class was electric. All they needed was a banner, some balloons and confetti to make it into the party that finally, yes finally they deserved.

As Adrien stood back up and replanted Marinette's feet on the floor, her face was one only seen in animated comedies. Mouth still pouted, arms by her sides and eyes wide open. Marinette.exe had officially stopped working.

"Can I do it? Can I do it?" Nino was positively hopping with excitement.

Alya turned the camera off and placed it back in her pocket. The two looked at each other and smiled before grabbing the edge of the table and heaving it.

Who knew the desks were actually bolted to the floor, and you could get into a lot of trouble if you actually managed to rip it out the floorboards and flip it?
