PART ONE
1.
Imagine for just a moment if you will that you could travel back in time, back in time to a moment in your life that you are not particularly happy with, a moment in time that you maybe despise and wish never had happened. What would you do being face to face with that moment knowing only too well of what was about to come? Would you try to change that moment? Attempt to alter its outcome?
Prior or post making this alteration to a past moment in your life, would you have made any consideration as to how your life would be altered due to that one moment from your past no longer being there? Would you have made any consideration towards the fact that you may have needed that unhappy moment with which you have so despised, to be in your life? That it, the horrid moment from the past, may have profoundly contributed towards the person you have become today, here in the present? Without it, what would you be?
Imagine for yet another moment that you could alter numerous times from your past or even see and alter an occurrence which has yet to happen. Not only could you change past moments of despair, but you could also prevent future discontent.
Maybe you could live in the belief that such changes with which you desire, once done, would do little to unbalance the forces of nature and would only pull at the threads from the fabric of the universe so weakly that no one or no thing would notice any difference. But what if such time altering occurrences actually more than just happen but take place with common regularity? And what if these activities are not being perpetrated by just one soul but by many, over decades and maybe even over centuries?
Would the thoughts of said 'what if's' not have you believe that such things should not be allowed to happen? That these things should be more than just frowned upon but also be controlled and policed? There would be the thought that if we did live in such a world where not just one, but many could go alter their own past or future and maybe even go alter someone else's past or future then how could such a thing be policed, stopped or in itself be prevented in any way?
We can't all just go around and do whatever the hell we like. The mayhem and chaos that would throw the universe into. To everything there must be law and order.
There are also the possibilities that such travel through time could be used for profit and gain in financial matters as well as personal matters. So, you see, if travelling through time was indeed a possibility, especially among large numbers of people going into the hundreds possibly even into the thousands throughout the world, then something would need to be done to ensure those frayed threads from the fabric of the universe do not get to unravel completely.
When a journey deals with different moments in time, it may be a difficult thing to work out just exactly where it all truly begins. If it all has already happened, then do we really have a choice in how it all transpires when we get to a certain time or point? What once was, is what should be ...

It is easy to underestimate the intelligence of a child. Easy to see past what they are capable of picking up on. So easy to pass off something fantastic that one might tell you that whatever a child may say can be passed off as a moment where their vivid imagination is just working overtime. Sometimes when a child is actually telling an adult the truth, the adult may respond in a manner which could confuse, frustrate, or both confuse and frustrate that child.
Telling the child to stop telling tales when they are actually telling the truth is not something that a child would find easy to deal with. If an adult tells us something fantastic, are we more inclined to believe them? Or just think that they are more off their rocker than anything else?
Six-year-old Ollie Watson sat strapped in the back seat of his mum's car as she drove making her way home after having been out shopping with her little boy. Having looked in her inside rear-view mirror, Ollie's mum Jackie could not see her son. She glanced over her shoulder into the back. Her son was not where he should be. In fact, she could not see him at all.
The seat belt was locked but there was no Ollie strapped in behind that belt. In a panic Jackie pulled over. With the car having come to a full stop Jackie unlocked her own seat belt and completely turned to look towards the back seat area once more. This time her little boy was where he should be, strapped in as if he had been there all the while.
'There you are little man, you had mommy scared there for a moment.'
'Why mommy? What did I do wrong?'
'You left your seat honey. You have to promise not to do that again, alright?'
'But I was with you mommy, by the pool.'
'Really?'
'We were on holidays.'
'You know our holidays are not for another two weeks.'
'Yes mommy.'
'Well just promise me you won't move out of your sea again, OK? You should put your jumper back on too, there is a chilli breeze outside today and we do not want you to catch a cold.'
'It was you who took it off silly' giggled Ollie. His mum, thinking that what Ollie had said was more than a little strange, just smiled happy to see her little man in such a good humour.
Jackie started the car back up, put her own seat belt back on and continued along towards home, once more checking her mirror, this time smiling as she could see Ollie playing with two of his toy cars. When they arrived back home and had pulled into the driveway, Jackie tied the garden gates together so Ollie could stay outside and play while she brought the shopping in.
'No climbing the walls Ollie, my little man.'
'Yes Mom.'
While Jackie was inside, a man approached to stand on the outside of the garden wall. His presence did not scare Ollie in any way. As a matter of fact, Ollie had seen this man many times before. It was strange though. This man could look so different each time Ollie would see him. One day this man could have short dark hair, another day his hair could be grey, there would be times where the man's hair would be longer and at times, he would also have a beard. Today the hair was short, dark and there was no beard.
'Hello Ollie, how are you today?' spoke the man.
'I am fine.'
Ollie looked up towards the tall man. The sun was shining bright, so Ollie used his right arm to keep the sunlight out of his eyes.
'What have you got there?'
'Two cars, I have my red one and I have my blue one. When I grow up, I am going to be a race car driver.'
'Oh really?'
'Yeah, and I am going to be the best race car driver in the whole world.'
'I bet you will be' said the man with a laugh.
'Can I help you?' asks Jackie coming out of the house and heading straight for Ollie who immediately moved behind her. He had been standing far too close to this man for her liking.
'You have a special little boy there Mrs. Watson.'
'Thank you' spoke Jackie being caught off guard and not knowing how else to respond to that statement. 'How do you know my name? Have we met before?'
'You could say we have, in a way.'
Feeling uneasy. Jackie turned but could not see Ollie. She began to panic calling out Ollie's name, moving into the house and then back outside when she could not see him within the house.
'It is alright Mrs. Watson; there is no need to panic.'
'What have you done with my son? Where is he? Where is my boy?'
'I can assure you, I have done nothing.'
'Then where is he? Where is my son?'
'The more appropriate question would be is when is your son?'
'What?' asked Jackie frantically trying to figure out where her son could have got to.
'Your son is the first of his kind. He is a traveller.'
'Are you trying to suggest something about me and my son?'
'Oh no, you have me all wrong here.'
'Look I don't mean to be rude or anything but if you could excuse me I need to locate my son.'
'Your son is alright as I have already mentioned. He will be back in a moment or two. You see, he can travel through time and has just gone on a little journey.'
'Sure, yeah right' Jackie spoke under her breath glancing over at the man briefly wondering what his problem is.
'He had his first moment only moments ago in the back of your car as you guys were on your way back here.'
'How do you know what happened in the car?' asked Jackie. There was a pause, so Jackie asked the question again, the second time asking a little louder than the first.
'I know this as I am your son. I am Ollie. My name is Oliver James Watson. I am twenty-eight-years-old. My father James passed away two months after my first birthday. I have travelled through twenty-two years of time in an instant to be here to tell you I am alright, your little boy; he is and will be alright. He will return to you shortly.'
Jackie began to stare at this man and a tear escaped her right eye as something clicked within her. It was at this moment she realized that she had indeed not only seen this man once before but had met him too. Not long after having given birth to Ollie a man came to her with flowers congratulating her on the arrival of her son.
'Mommy' came an excited shout of a little voice as six-year-old Ollie came running out of the house.
Jackie turned picked up her son, she brought him in and held him tight. Her tears were flowing a little more freely now. She turned back towards where the man had been. He was no longer there. Jackie could not see as to where he could have gone.
Two weeks would soon come to pass, and Jackie sat by the hotel pool on holiday in Lanzarote enjoying the morning sun and a book she had been looking forward to reading. The familiar call of 'mommy' came from her left.
'Ollie my little man. What was Aunt Vicki thinking dressing you in so much clothing, huh?' Jackie picked up her son, placed him on her lap and took off his jumper then stood her little man to one side.
'Where is your Aunt Vicki? She should know better than just to let you wander down here by yourself'.
No sooner had Jackie finished this sentence a female voice from her right would speak.
'I am over here sis, who were you talking too?'
At this moment two things struck Jackie. One was that Ollie was no longer standing where she had set him down but instead, he was holding his aunts hand. The other thing was that Ollie was only wearing swimming togs and two inflatable arm bands so he could go play in the kid's pool. This was strange for so many reasons. Not only did the memory of two weeks earlier return but Jackie was also left holding the jumper she had taken off her son.
In the car hadn't it been Ollie who told his mum that she had taken his jumper off while they were on holidays?
Feeling as if she was on the verge of going insane Jackie confided in her sister telling her of the recent events. Vicki responded telling Jackie that if she wasn't already on holiday then she would need to go take some.
