Chapter Eleven 

I wake up, all the events from yesterday rushing back to me. I sigh, why can't life just be easy. I get up off my bed, ready or not really ready, to deal with the crap that my 'powers' or whatever, is going to bring upon my day.

I sit in my first class paying attention. Lunch rushes upon me, I need to talk more to Drew. But Octavia still sat separately from them. I sigh and go to sit with Octavia, I haven't really had the chance to talk to her since everything. I sit down, with my packed lunch. It's weird because even though I know that there is no food poisoning in the cafeteria food, I still don't trust it anymore. So I still just pack my own food and probably will forever. I plop down next to Octavia,

"Hey, girlfriend." She says smiling as if nothing had happened. Paige sits next to me, I smile at them.

"Hey Ivy, what's up?" Paige says

"Oh, nothing, but life chang-" I cut myself off realizing that I probably shouldn't just blurt all of this out with all these other people, so instead I say, "I mean, can we hang out later today?" Octavia smiles,

"Sure." Paige looks at me and smiles,

"I can't, but we should find a day I'm free."

"Yeah," Octavia says.

"Well, next time then." I turn back to Octavia, "later today we can talk more...about it."

Then the lunch conversation got boring and rather generic. I feel fidgety throughout it.

"Drew, we have to actually talk, with time and seriousness I need to know all about the guy that's - what - trying to kill us?" He looks at me realizing that I'm serious.

"Okay."

So I find myself at Drew's house with everybody. Even Paige, I had told Octavia about this and she said we can just hang out together there instead. I guess Paige's 'plans' got canceled. I look from face to face. I decide to speak first saying,

"I need all the facts guys. For real, I don't like all this dancing around." Of course, Nicki is the one to speak up after a silence,

"Okay, we'll give you the facts, you need to know about it all anyway...I guess we should start with Drew's brother." She goes silent. Drew takes it from there,

"Um, no we have to start with the real beginning. That is when we all found out about each other."

"Yeah, so basically, we also had a little bit of a late start, Drew activated Nicki's powers. That was the beginning. Drew's powers seemed to always be there, everyone else's was activated by his. One by one, he might have accidentally brushed against someone and bam. That's sort of what happened with Octavia and Paige although there was a whole thing with that. S-" Octavia gets cut off by Drew.

"I touched my brother when I was kinda...worked up which made me give him some, which is when I realized that my brother also had it. I was surprised, I don't know why. I confronted him, he told me that he was doing some sort of job that involved his power, he didn't tell me what his power was, and that's when I found out about the..."

"He found out about the Travel Master." This is Paige speaking, "the one that...wound up killing Gabe. The Travel Master seems like some sort of demented serial killer, but really he goes after us, people with 'it' at random aka us, we don't know why he does. The scary part is that he kills bystanders as well, he doesn't care about any human life. So not only are we at risk but our whole school, because he could just blow it up simply because he wants too, to get to us."

I feel my eyes widen slightly at all of this. Drew continuous for Paige,

"That's why we've been trying to hide it as best we can. Because if he finds out we have powers, which he suspects me because of Gabe, we are not only putting ourselves at risk but also all those around us." I look from face to face, there is a depressing pause in the conversation, I realize nobody wants to add anything else so I say,

"How many people does he have on his side?" They look at me confused,

"What do you mean?" I look at Drew who was speaking,

"I mean, there's" I count them all in my head, "what six of you? Seven with me, and one of him, at least from what you guy knows, we can probably find a way, I mean, if we al-"

"Ivy, like we didn't think of that." This is Nicki with a slight roll of her eyes, "sorry that came off as rude, what I mean is we are trying to devise a good plan and a way to stop him strategically."

"Oh, well that makes sense, what are your plans?" There is a cold silence in the room, there seems to be a lot of that, silence...

"Well, we have been...kind of putting it off..." Octavia speaks up for the silent group.

"Guys, this is a big deal, the first thing you should have done when you found this al- I'm sorry, I know that I just found out about all of this, but I can't help feeling that we need to do something, asap."

"Yeah, we should," Ben says, speaking for what feels like the first time. We all turn to him.

"Ivy's right, we need to do something to stop this guy. I mean, Drew, he killed your brother, and we need to find out more about him. We need to do our research and find a way to stop him." There is dead silence in the room nobody breaks it. Then Paige knocks something over and everyone in the room stares at her.

"Okay, um, well I got to go ho-" Paige begins only to be cut off by Octavia,

"Guys, we don't actually know that much about him. What if, what if we all research something on the subject? We need some sort of computer that can't be tracked and so if the websites I don't know give away our location, then they can't see who we are."

"I think I can get my hands on something like that," Ben says this confidently.

"Good, once you do that you can relate the information back to us and we can find some way to stop him. Try your best to find a weakness, Ben." When Octavia says this Ben nods his head.

"Wait...guy's what do you know about him?" I say this hesitantly. Drew gives me a strange look. He replies shortly,

"What we know about the guy isn't good."

"Okay...but what is it?"

"Well, he um, he has powers as well..." I look at him not surprised,

"Oh...what are his powers?" He looks at everyone, then decides to speak for them all,

"We don't know, that's what makes this a lot harder also why we should have gotten someone to look into all of this before. Good thinking Octavia."

Shortly after that, it's as if we all agreed, we take leave, Drew walking along with me.
