Epilogue/Snippet from Book 3
Lurytendra/El-Laura-El
My instinct and subject has never failed me since I became the ruler of this realm, Di Hipsodat.
One night when alone in my sleeping chamber, I heard a voice call to me. It was in desperation but I heard the courage in her tone. I knew she wasn't just ordinary. Gar-El confirmed she was my granddaughter, and she possessed unimaginable powers. She was strong, and I knew in that moment that she was the only one that can take me. Her body is the only thing that can contain my soul, but I needed to be sure.
With the help of Gar-El, I set the test to see if she was indeed capable to being my heir. I knew my body was dying. I knew I was dying and it was only a matter of time before I fade away and I was content with that. I had no intention of stealing the body of my granddaughter until I found out Azra was secretly meeting with her behind my back.
The backstabbing half soul of mine was bonding with someone else while I'm still alive. It could sense my body dying, it needed something to bond it, something alive and stronger. That made me angry and I sort another means to stay alive because the one thing I thought would carry my soul betrayed me. So I went after her. I plagued her dreams and made sure she got everything she wanted until it was time to come to me and she did. She played my game without even realizing it.
Now I have a new body and a new way to exist forever. The Golden Water is bonded to my soul in my former body but this new body would prevent it from happening. Whoever wants to brought back from the dead would pay the price themselves. I'm done being the nice El, not that I was ever nice.
Ever since I became El I lost a part of myself that I wasn't sure I had and up until now I still don't know what I'd lost. There's a gap in my memory that I cannot wait to fill, but I don't want to because it represents the vulnerable part of me.
I've led my soldiers to war and won, and these days things have been boring. The news of my victory and conquer had spread across the Galaxy and they know never to mess with me but a rumour about me dying have been circling. I was weak and couldn't fully access my powers but now with my new host body, I will raise again.
It's my first public appearance since I transferred my soul into my granddaughter's body and the experience hasn't been fun. The girl is tough and her will made it hard for my soul to take over. Gaea had to break her in all ways, starting with her mind.
Gaea was the first person to suggest moving my soul into another host body. I never knew it was possible until she told me and it was what I've been looking forward to since I heard about it.
The door to my throne opens, I step inside, and with each step I take, everyone goes down on their knees, bowing to their ruler. I climb the step to my throne and sit. I cross my leg and watch everyone on their knees including my son and his beloved. Damian rises and stand beside me as my executioner. This job would be hard for me because of the face I'm wearing but he's too useful to die. He's good at his job and I need him. Unless the useless emotions he learned on Earth affects his work, then I'll have to kill him.
I close my eyes briefly and something unexpected happens. A memory of my granddaughter appears in my head. I shouldn't be able to see this but I'm glad I did because the woman I've spent centuries looking made herself known to my granddaughter.
"I see you, Malakaia Stark. I see you and I'm coming for you."

SNIPPET FROM BOOK THREE
CAMILLE
I let out a sharp breath as my eyes open, I begin gasping for air.
Holding my hands out, I turn my wrist, seeing my palms before moving my hands up my body. I can feel my body, I can feel my skin but that's not all I feel. I feel like myself again. I am me, I am myself. I can't believe I'm in control.
This is all I've ever wanted since she stole my body. And I'm back. I am back. I'm-
The sound of people screaming in agony interrupts my thoughts, bringing my attention to my surroundings, where I am.
The familiar fountain at the middle of The Vale comes to view. Oh great! I'm in The Vale not Di Hipsodat but that's not all. The buildings are on fire: the school, the dorms, they are all up in flames and some parts of the buildings are crumblies with some people still inside, I can hear their screams.
"What is going on?" There's no one around me to ask, the people around the fire are either running for their lives while some are helping others, the rest are casting spells to stop the fire from spreading or undoing it, I don't know.
I have to help. I need to help.
I look down at my hands, I don't know how long I've been dead or unconscious but I still remember some magic spell to stop this. I can do this.
I clap my hands together before rubbing them against each other slowly as I cast the spell, a backward one to reverse whatever's causing this. "Nruter ot eht yaw uoy erew. Nruter ot eht yaw uoy erew." I toss in a more powerful spell to back the backwards because it doesn't seem enough. "Lafa dorh run blede das gha glasqus yunkin di alla noya. Nruter ot eht yaw uoy erew. Nruter ot eht yaw uoy erew! Nruter! Ot! Eht! Yaw! You! Erew!" Screaming the last part, I draw in breath and fall down to the ground, my body collide with gravel ground.
Gasping for air when I hear voices around me. "Guys, over here." Unfamiliar voices speaks from above me.
"It's her!"
"She's the one who started the fire."
"Cami! Cami! It's Cami," I feel pair of hands touching me, grabbing me from the ground but I'm too weak to even open my eyes or move. "Cami, it's me Alicia, are you okay?"
I hum as she moves me placing my head against her shoulder. "Hmm... What hap...happen... What happened?" I manage to ask.
I open my eyes and see the fire is gone, the smell of exhaust and burnt stuff is all gone. "Is everything back to normal?"
She nods. "Yes! You did it, you put everything back to normal. How are you? Where have you been? They said you died, then came back and started setting everything on fire. What's going on?"
I started the fire?
I didn't. I was-
The doubt clears from my face as realization sets in. She did this. She fucking did this. What-
"Clear out!" An unfamiliar deep voice commands from near us. "Everybody stand down and walk away from the suspect."
Alicia places her hand under my armpits to help me up, my vision is still blurry but I can still make out the figure, well figures approaching me. They don't look like our professors. They look like law enforcement.
"Cami Stark. I'm Agent Smith from SBI," he flashes me something that I'm assuming is his badge. "You're coming with us."
They don't even give me the chance to explain or ask what's going on. One of them pulls me from Alicia and before I know what's happening, they're grabbing my hands and slapping cuffs on them behind me.
Are they arresting me right now?
"Why? Why are you taking me?"
"You are under arrest for the murder."
Murder?
What the fuck!
LAURA!!!

AUTHOR'S NOTE.
First of all, I'd like to say thank you to everyone that started The Vale and are still here reading my author's note. Words aren't enough to tell you guys how grateful I am.
I know the book isn't perfect, it's filled with grammatical errors but you stuck around and I really appreciate it.
I started rewriting The Vale last month and I'm very happy with the new version, can't wait to share with you all one day.
Book Three is half written but I'm not sure when I'll finish writing it. I have the entire series outline though, I just don't want to start uploading and leave you guys hanging.
I rarely put author's note but let me know what you guys think about The Vale and The Transference so far.
Also, if you guys have any questions, you can drop them in the comment section, I'll answer them with spoiler on future books (of course this will only last until Sunday night).
Thank you guys.
Love, Milia.
