"I led the team that went to retrieve Sofia from Concord Hills Memorial hospital. You see, I'm not field agent, I don't go on retrieving missions, I never did but there was something about that particular case that caught my interest. No one knows what happened that day but out of forty four students that went to Caleb Sinclair's house, only Sofia survived. Although we wouldn't call what she's doing surviving but at least she's alive," Doctor Franklin explains from behind his desk.

Even though I came into his office like an intruder, I let have him the upper hand, letting him be incharge of the situation. I've forced him to talk and I intend to let him go well on his pace furthermore.

"What happened? Why were you interested in her case?" I question. It's more of an interrogation and the compulsion I have on him will make him tell me everything I want and need to know.

He adjusts the way he's sitting and sighs, shaking his head like it's a sensitive topic. I mean, the guy is a psychiatrist, I don't see how Sofia's case is sensitive. This whole place is built to keep the worst of the worst and he's been working here for sixteen years.

"Because no one truly knows what happened. We know forty four students went into that house but only one survived excluding Caleb, who we think killed the rest. It's funny because Sofia was rescued inside a burning house but she wasn't injured or anything. It was like she was preserved in there and she doesn't remember anything. She was declared insane when she couldn't give the right account of what happened. The court pinned the murders on her like she tried to kill herself and the rest of her classmates because she was bullied a lot in school. Poor Sofia," he whispers the last part and if I wasn't listening carefully with my enhanced hearing, I wouldn't have heard it.

I snap my eyes at him. "Poor Sofia?" I repeat and his eyes widens. "You pity her." Not asking but saying, I don't have to read his thoughts to know. "Why?"

I don't expect him to answer and if it was under normal circumstances, I know he wouldn't have but the compulsion is pushing him to.

"Nosalys wasn't created for mentally unstable people. It was built for a girl. One very special little girl. She is banshee, a dreamwalker, a witch, a vampire and a werewolf. She comes from a long line of very powerful supernatural. Her father is first vampire and werewolf. And her mother was a dreamwalker and a witch. Being a banshee is just her. She inherited the rest of her powers and they all activated the second she opened her eyes. Can you believe they put her in a cryo sleep for more than three century? She umm... They only woke her up after this place was completed and the owner didn't build it to imprison her. She wanted to keep her safe.

"You see that patient is the first. We had no problem keeping a six year old safe until others began to show. Mad werewolves. Blood sucking leeches and other supernatural you wouldn't believe existed. Nosalys is a supernatural Asylum. Yes, I pity Sofia because she's human. We don't know what happened but I believe she didn't do anything wrong. You could say she was just at a wrong place in the right time. She was bullied her whole life and now she's confined in a place that treated her like she's insane. Of course she is insane but the doctors here don't see a human. They look at her and see a monster. So I pity her because she isn't supposed to be here."

He makes total sense but I'm curious about the first patient he talked about. I knew earth isn't just for humans. Kai Stark and El weren't the first alien to step foot on Earth. I guess Earth is just a junction where everyone and everything meets. I've spent so much time with witches that I forgot that there are other creature. Imagine a girl with all that power: dreamwalking, harbinger of death, a witch, vampire and a werewolf. I can't imagine what her life must be like, especially after sleeping for three hundred years. She can't be normal. She can never be normal. That's being said, I didn't come for the first patient, I came for Sofia.

"Do you want to know what really happened that night?" I ask the doctor.

He nods. "More than anything. I'm not just a doctor, I'm a scientist and I hate when I can't figure out what's happened to my patient. So of course I want to know what happened."

"I can find out what happened for you," I assure him. Well, I can find out what happened for myself. It's all for a selfish reason.

He snorts and shakes his head. "You seem so sure of yourself, Mr..." He trails off when he realizes he doesn't know my name.

"My name doesn't matter, you won't even remember me after I'm gone, so it's no use. But you're trying to make a point, so by all means, do." I give him to floor to say what he has to say.

"She's been here for twelve years and you think we haven't tried to find out what happened. We've tried everything." He raises his hand and starts counting fingers, "truth serum, shock therapy, hypnosis, lobotomy so many dangerous experience that I'm not supposed to talk about because it's morally and scientifically questionable."

I don't want to know about all that, just what they talk about.

"What did she say when you ask about what happened?" I know they say she gave a different account of what happened but I need to know the different account she gave.

"That's the problem, she says the same thing every time. Word for word. I have recording if you want to see." He offers but I can't watch them because I have bad feeling about Camille's date and I need to get back to The Vale as soon as possible.

I wave my hands, dismissive the idea of watching the recordings. "No, I just need you to take me to her."

"Okay. Let's go talk to Sofia."

I follow Malcom to the elevator and he presses the button that takes us up. And he tells me about each floor we pass. Nosalys is built for a girl, a six years old child but as time went on, they expanded. Over the years they caught some dangerous supernatural criminals, some of them that I've never heard before. So each floor we pass is for different levels of dangers.

The elevator stops and opens. He steps out and I follow behind him. We walks past different door left and right, each doors with serial number and code letters. We stop in front of a white door that read SR078, I'm assuming the SR stands for Sofia Rodrigo.

"Do you need me to come in with you?" He asks.

I shrug. "It's a free world. Do what you want but I'm not telling you anything after I'm done."

He nods, not sure if it's in understanding. He takes out his employee ID card and swipes it through the panel beside the door. The dot light changes from red to green and the door slides open. Malcom takes a step back to let me in.

I step into the room and stop when Malcom comes behind me. The room is the most depressing room I've ever seen. It's all white: the paint, the tiles on the floor, the ceiling. The room is almost empty with just a bed and drawer at the opposite side of the bed.

"The painting looks new," I comment as I look around the room and notice the added features in the room. I might not have been in this room before but I built the house on the island myself, I know the details. "Did you just move her here?" I ask without looking at him.

My eyes settles on the figure on the bed, furiously sketching like she's angry at the paper. She doesn't look up to us when we enter, she's shading away like it's no one's business.

I look away from her when the doctor begins to speak. "Excellent observation sir. We didn't just move her here. Sofia has a way of making the room lively even if it means cutting herself and writing Caleb's name on the wall with her blood," he tells me.

I sigh and face the girl. She looks nothing like the girl in the picture that's printed on Caleb's chapter. Her head is buried in her sketch, her black covering her face. She's wearing a white up and down with what looks like a turtleneck under the white t-shirt.

"She writes his name with her blood." I repeat. I've never heard of something like this before. "So basically her life revolves around him?"

"Yes."

"Okay," I walk closer to her, stopping in front of her bed. "Sofia?" I call her name and wait for her to answer but she doesn't. I know she won't since she didn't even acknowledge us when we entered. "Sofia?" I try again.

When she doesn't, I look back at the doctor, who shrugs like it's normal for her to behave like this. "Say his name," he encourages me.

"Sofia, I need your help," I begin, "I think a very dear friend of mine is in trouble and I need to stop it. In order to stop the person responsible, I need to know who and what he truly is, and you are the only one that can help me. Do I have your permission to look into your memories with Caleb?"

She stops what's doing and raises her head at the sound of his name. "Caleb. Caleb. Caleb." She keeps repeating his name as she looks around the room like he's around here or something.

"Do what you have to do before she becomes hysterical." Malcom warns.

I go down on my knees and take her hands in mine. "Calm yourself Sofia." I command her and she heeds. She calm down and stares into my eyes. "Now, tell me everything I need to know about Caleb Sinclair."

She goes still, her pupil disappearing. Then she speaks. "I saw Caleb for the first time at the beginning of senior year..."

The memory of a young Sofia leaning against the laboratory desk, playing with the test tube, appears in my head. Caleb walked in. Even though I'm in her head, I can feel the emotions she felt that day, her heart skipped as goosebumps spread all over her body and I know it wasn't because of the breeze through the window. It was feelings. She's had feelings for him since the day they met or rather the day she saw him first.

I search through Sofia's memories of Caleb, shuffling through for any useful information about him before that unfortunate day, something that only her knows but nothing comes up. It just shows her watching him from a distance in Chemistry and Spanish class, in the cafeteria, in the library, in the park where he hung with his friends and a familiar girl, also from the picture on his page. Sofia didn't know much about him, and yet she loved him with her whole heart. I didn't have to read her mind to know. It all shows from her actions and memories.

"The after party prom, Sofia. What happened at the after party prom at Caleb's house?" I ask to make my work easy and faster.

Sofia gazes down at me and grins. "It was my happiest day. It was the day Caleb finally notices me. I wasn't invited but my best friend forced me and I was glad she did because if it wasn't for her I wouldn't have known about Caleb's feelings for me. We got to the party around seven..."

I squeeze her hands and see the memory. She was putting on a silver red short ball gown that ride above her knees, not the dress she had on in the picture. She entered the house with another girl, whom I'm assuming was the best friend she just talked about.

"I'm gonna go mingle, you should come with me but I know you won't," her best friend squeezed her shoulder, "and for the record, if Caleb still doesn't notice you in this dress, then he's a bloody idiot," she added.

Sofia gave her friend a tight smile and said, "sure, if he doesn't notice me tonight then I'm going to move on for real this time."

Her friend raises her eyebrow up, "really?" It was obvious from her tone that her friend didn't believe her but she was holding out hope.

Sofia nodded.

"Okay, cool. I'm gonna go find someone to play handsy with. Don't get lost and if you're bored, just call me." Her friend told her and walked away.

Alone in the corner of the room, Sofia pressed her back against the wall and watched her classmates enjoy themselves. She was nervous. She was self conscious because she wasn't used to dressing up like that and the person she was all dressed up for wasn't around.

She stood by herself for some minutes, no one came around to talk to her, it was as if they didn't see her. She wasn't popular at school.

Sofia pushed herself off the wall when students gathered at the bottom of the stairs. Curiosity got the best of her as she made her to where people were standing. "We're the shit, baby!" The sound of Caleb's familiar voice caused Sofia to freeze and watch as Caleb and his girlfriend, the other girl in the picture, made their way down the stairs.
