~Mark's P.O.V.~
I was looking at my clipboard when someone bumped into me. "A-ah, sumimasen!" said the person who bumped into me. I rubbed my head and then saw a girl with short white hair. She helped me back up and bowed. "I'm really sorry!"
"It's no problem," I grinned. I picked up my clipboard and she picked up her paint buckets. "Hey, you're Jessie's friend right?" I asked when I realized that this was the girl that people were talking about. Apparently Jessie stood up for her at lunch yesterday or something.
"Oh, hai!" she said. "My name is Yukino."
"Nice to meet you," I smiled.
"Uhno, you're Jessie's and Sting-san's gym coach aren't you?" she asked. I chuckled a bit.
"That's right, and you're 'The Sabertooth Tigers's new decorator right?" She nodded shyly.
"How did you know?"
"Sting told me that he assigned someone," I answered. She tilted her head.
"Are you friends with Sting-san?"
"Eh, well, I guess so," I replied, rubbing the back of my neck. "Sting asked me to come by and help him with his singing, so here I am."
"Oh, well I'm going back to the band room, will you be coming with me coach-san?" Yukino asked me.
"Just call me Mark," I said. I never really liked people calling me formally, unless they were someone I wanted to tease. We walked together in comfortable silence towards the band room. When we opened the band room doors, I could hear a female voice singing, and I think Yukino heard it too. I smirked. I knew Sting could do it! I put a finger to my lips to signal that we need to be quiet. Yukino nodded. I slowly opened the band room door to see Jessie singing a song and Sting looking at her with his mouth hanging open. I decided to wait for her to finish, see how she reacts.
"But you never listen..." Jessie sang the last of the lyrics and set the microphone down. I tried my best to hide my laughter when Sting blabbed incoherent syllables.
"W-wow, I-I, y-you, a-and that!" At that point, I couldn't hold back the words I've always wanted to say.
"Ha! I knew it!" Jessie and Sting turned around to see me. "I just knew it!" My smirk grew wider as I saw Jessie starting to blush. She never liked other people seeing her sing, so to me, the look on her face was priceless.
~Jessie's P.O.V.~
I scowled at Mark and his stupid smirk. What's even worse was that I knew that was his "I told you so" smirk. "How long were you standing there?" I asked, taking a deep breath. If I didn't, I swear I was gonna kill him right there.
"Hmm," Mark answered, putting his hand on his chin and pretending to think. "All of it." My cheeks became redder and I jumped off the stage platform. Ergh, what was I thinking?? Singing in front of Sting and them all just to prove I could? What's gotten into me? I've never made such a rash decision like that in a long time! In the midst of this, I had totally forgotten about Sting.
"Um....do you two..?" he said, pointing fingers at both of us. I chose to ignore him.
"I swear, if you tell anyone.....I'M GOING TO KILL YOU BIG OL' BROTHER OF MINE!!" I yelled, grabbing ahold of his collar.
"Hmm, what are you going to do if I don't listen to you?" he smirked. I smirked back, except with a wider and wickeder one.
"Oh ho ho ho.....have you forgotten? You owe me..." I hissed, and Mark's eyes contracted in fear.
"Ah, please spare me!" he squeaked, shaking in fear. My wicked smirk grew wider.
"Too late for that mister. You crossed the line already," I hissed again. I saw sweat drops roll down his face.
"H-how? I won't tell anyone! I promise!" he whimpered. I went to his ear.
"Next time make sure you dont' let me see you go into my science class," I whispered into his ear.
I was about to say something else when Sting suddenly blurted out, "Mark's your brother????" I scowled at Mark one more time before turning around and looking at Sting with confusion.
"Yeah, so?" I asked.
"You never told me that!" he huffed. I rolled my eyes.
"Why would I?"
"Because he's a good ol' buddy of mine!" Sting grinned, and put an arm around Mark's shoulders.
"-_-' Really Mark?"
" ^_^' Heh well...long story.." he sweatdropped. I sighed and looked at the time. it was already 4:58 p.m., so I better get going. Lucy and the others invited me to meet with them at Fairy Cafe again at 5:30 p.m.
"Well, we need to go now," I sighed. "Sorry Yukino, I promise I'll help you twice as hard tom--, er, Monday." Right, today was Friday. Well, atleast I have the weekends to look forward to.
"Iya, no worries," Yukino waved off. I turned my attention to Mark, who slightly flinched.
"Don't need to drive me. I'm gonna walk to the cafe," I said. Mark sighed with relief.
"Alright, see you tomorrow then," he said. I smirked. Hoh, he thinks he's off the hook? Oh, not a chance..
"Hey Mark?" I stopped him. He turned around.
"What?" I smiled innocently and whispered what he owed me into his ear.
"O_O NO!!" he yelled, making everyone in the room flinch.
"Can't say no. Gotta do it," I said in an innocent voice. Too innocent ^-^.
"T-T Please have mercy.." he whimpered.
"Sorry, you brought it on yourself," I smirked. He sighed with defeat.
"I hate you, you know that?" he muttered.
"Aw, you don't mean that," I pouted, mocking him.
"I actually mean it this time," he grumbled.
"Well, this is revenge for that bet," I reminded him. He grumbled more things before leaving the room. I looked back at Sting, Yukino, Rogue, Rufus, and Orga. Jeez, probably awkward for them to have to watch that.
"Well....we'll be going then.." said Orga, who had already packed all his instrument equipment. Rogue and Rufus had done the same and was now each holding a guitar case.
"As I recall, we are meeting at the same place yes?" Rufus asked Sting. He nodded with an idiotic grin.
"Yup! I just have to do seomthing real quick, so I'll see you guys there!" waved Sting, and with that Orga, Rufus, and Rogue left. That left just me, Yukino, and Rogue.
"Uhno, I will be taking my leave too," Yukino said softly. I nodded and gave her an apologetic smile.
"Alright. Sorry again for not really helping you," I said.
"It's fine, we'll just do it next time!" Yukino said with a tiny smile. She then left as well. Okay, that left just me and Sting.
"Well, guess I'll be going too," I said and turned to leave, but then I felt a hand grip my arm.
"Wait," Sting said. I stopped and he let go.
"Yes..?" I asked.
"Could you...wait for me?" he asked, rubbing his arm sheepishly. I smiled.
"Sure, why not?" He grinned and picked up a briefcase. I looked at it weirdly.
"What's that for?" I asked him.
"Oh, it has my school clothes," shrugged Sting. "It makes me look very businesslike right?" I rolled my eyes.
"Not really.." He fake pouted, and I can't help but giggle. He looks so funny when he does that. We then left the backstage room, and then the band room. When we left the school, Sting spoke up.
"Seriously, why didn't you tell me Mark was your brother?" Sting asked. I shrug.
"You never asked," I answered truthfully.
"Also, what's the bet?" Sting asked curiously. Ah, so he was listening to our conversation.
"Hmm, that's something between the two of us," I smirked, remembering it.
***Flashback: a couple days ago***
"Hey Jess?" Mark called me, popping his head into my room. I was looking at my old microphone, the one I used to use to sing a duet with....her.
"Yeah?" I answered lamely, still staring at the mic. I didn't have to look to know that Mark rolled his eyes.
"Come on Jessie, you should use it instead of look at it," Mark sighed. I shook my head.
"I ain't ever singing again..." I muttered softly. I heard Mark's footsteps come closer to me and he plopped down beside my bed.
"Come on Jessie, please sing just one song, for me?" Mark pleaded. I answered him with silence. Mark sighed again.
"You know, I bet if someone were to anger you, you would sing," Mark stated. I immediately sat up.
"Nuh uh!" I huffed.
"Face it, it's true," Mark smirked. I scowled at him.
"Not!"
"Oh yeah? I say Father would agree with me."
"Wanna bet?" I scowled.
"Yes, actually. If I win, then you have to be woken up everyday with an alarm clock that has my voice for an alarm," Mark said with my signature mischievous grin.
"And if I win, you have five I.O.Us," I said with an evil grin. I saw Mark gulp, but he extended his hand.
"Deal," he said. I grinned and shook his hand. We then went to Father's room and asked him.
"Hmm, I honestly have to agree with Mark here," Father said.
"What?!" I yelled. Mark laughed.
"Ha! I'll start working on that clock now.." he laughed. I scowled bitterly at him.
"Oh yeah? One day, I'm going to get revenge..." I hissed under my breath.
***End of flashback***
