Spending The Day With Sting Part 4

   Bear with me okay? This event will take a while, but hey, it's worth it, right? No? Oh, okay then. ;-;

M-Minerva? What is she doing here? Oh, right, this is the mall. I shouldn't be surprised. Sting's her boyfriend too. Guess that means this day is over. I turned around and quickly walked away so that she wouldn't see me with Sting. If she did, Sting probably wouldn't ever forgive me. Still, I can't help but feel a bit sad.

~Sting's P.O.V.~

"M-Minerva??" I stuttered her name again. She was wearing her casual clothes (a/n: GMG clothes) and I noticed that she was holding a ton of shopping bags in her hand. Then again, she was rich and always liked to brag about her father's wealth and fame, and her own of course. She looked at me with a confused face.

"Sting? What are you doing here?" she asked.

"O-oh, I was just..." I turned around, surprised to see that Jessie was gone. Where did she go?

"You didn't return my calls, and you only do that when you're busy." She put her bag-filled hands on her hips, irritatingly waiting for an answer. "Were you with someone?"

"What? No!" I denied, although she was absolutely correct, just not in the that kind of sense. We were just hanging out, but she would kill Jessie if she found out that we hung out together.

"Ah, well then, check this out." She pulled something out of her pocket and shoved it in my face. It was an iWizard, but it looked more high-tech than the 8th.

"What version is that?" I asked.

"The iWizard 9!" she smirked.

"N-nine??" It hasn't even come out yet! The 8 came out only yesterday!!

"Yeah, my father got it for me, isn't it cool??" She bragged on and on about how she always gets what she wants and her father's cool job as a business owner, but I tuned it out. I couldn't help but wonder where did Jessie go? She disappeared so fast.. I looked around the mall for any signs of her, but I didn't see anyone. "...isn't that just the coolest Sting?"

"H-huh? Oh yeah, right," I said, not really paying attention. All of a sudden, Minerva stroked my chin with her finger, making me shudder instinctively.

"Ne, Stingy-poo..." Minerva said in a seductive tone, "why don't we come back to my place and have a little fun?" Usually, I would've immediately said yes, but I was getting worried about Jessie.

"Sorry Minerva, maybe next time," I said quickly and ran the opposite direction of Minerva. I knew I would have some explaining to do later, but I didn't care. Right now, all that mattered was finding Jessie.

I wandered around the mall, looking for the exit.  "Tch, I'm the strongest in all subjects, and I can't even find the exit to a stupid building," I muttered to myself.  "Pathetic.."  Maybe if Sting were with me..  I shook my head.  You can't think that, he's with Minerva.  Maybe they left the mall already, and went to her house and...ARGH STOP THINKING THOSE KIND OF THOUGHTS JESSIE!  I let out a frustrated sigh, earning me some looks from bystanders.  I blush from embarrassment and walk quicker.  Jeez, am I sick or something?  I've been feeling more...carefree than usual.  I mean, giving Sting an iWizard 8??  What was I thinking??  All of a sudden, I was brought out of my thoughts by the smell of fire.  "Those aren't Natsu's flames though..." I thought out loud.

"RUN!!"  A huge crowd of screaming people passed by me.

"O-oi, what's wrong??" I asked a man who was running.

"F-fire!  There's a really huge fire!!" he answered shakily.  Fire?!

"Where?" I asked.  His hand shook as he pointed in the direction he was running from.  I immediately ran towards that direction.

"O-oi!  That's the wrong way!!" he yelled after me, but I ignored him and continued running.  More and more people ran away as I ran towards the source of the fire.  As I did, smoke became more and more clear.

"Where could she be...?" I muttered to myself.  "And my legs are so tired..."  I stopped running and put my hands on my knees.  Just when I looked back up, someone knocked me over.  "Oi, watch where you're--"  I didn't even get to finish because another person ran past me.  "What are all these people running from..?"  I turned around and my eyes widened.  Dark gray smoke was high in the air of the mall and it was coming from what I believe is the toys store.  I could also smell Jessie's faint scent from that direction.  I would've facepalmed myself for not just using my nose to track her down, but I decided to do that later.

"Jessie," I muttered before running towards the source of the fire.

"Please!  Please help me!"  I stopped sprinting and saw a woman frantically running around the crowd.  "Have you seen my son?  I think he's still in there!" she cried.  I dashed over to her.

"What's wrong ma'am?" I asked her.  She turned to face me, and I realized that she was crying

"Please help me!  I think my son's still in there!" she pointed to a shop that was completely on fire.

"Wait here okay?" I told her.  She shakily nodded and I rushed into the store.  I was just about a yard away from the door when something grabbed ahold of my arm.

"What the hell are you doing?!" Sting yelled at me.  I pulled my arm, but he wouldn't let go.  This was seriously getting annoying, and I really didn't need this right now.

"I have to go in there to save a little boy!" I explained urgently.

"You can't go in there!" Sting growled.  "You might hurt yourself!"

"I can't take care of myself!" I growled back.  "Now let go!"

"I won't let you hurt yourself Jessie!" he snarled.

"Look, I'll be careful okay??" I said.  "Can you please let go so that I can save someone??"  I looked at him with the most determined glare I could give him.  He returned it, but eventually let out a frustrated sigh.

"Fine, but I'm going with you," he said firmly.

        "But you--"

"Either I go with you or we'll just stand here arguing," he interrupted.  I sighed.

"Alright, come on," I muttered.  He nodded and followed me as I busted the burnt door open.  Our eyes widened as we took in everything.  The once baby blue walls were now burnt black or were still on fire.  Toys such as stuffed teddy bears and soccer balls were on fire or already burnt to a crisp.  I carefully walked on the charred floor, Sting following closely behind.  When I took one step towards a burning bookcase, I heard a deafening crack above me.  I looked up to see a ceiling beam falling down below me.  I knew I didn't have enough time to get run.  I could do nothing but just stand there.  Right before it could hit me,  Sting suddenly lurched forward and pushed me out of the way.

"Look out!" he said just before he grabbed ahold of me and tackled me out of the way of the beam.

"A-arigato," I muttered and stood back up.

"I told you to be careful didn't I?" he said, concern evident in his voice.  Before I could answer him, I heard faint sobbing.  I turned to the right and saw a young boy shaking in fear.  He was cowering in the corner, fire surrounding him.  When Sting noticed him too, we both slowly walked towards him.

"Hey there little guy," I said softly.  His big brown eyes focused on me when he heard my voice.  "I want you to run into my arms as fast as you can.  Can you do that for me?"  He shakily shook his head and backed away when the fire grew towards him.  Hey, I know you're afraid," I said in a soothing voice, "but I promise you, nothing will hurt you.  Just run towards me and everything will be okay."  He still looked hesitant, but he cloes his eyes and ran right me.  I wrapped my arms around his shaking body.  "See?  It's okay.  Everything's gonna be okay.."  I lifted him up and supported his weight with my arms.

"We need to go now," Sting urged.  I nodded and we both ran out of the store.

"MY SON!!" the woman screamed when she saw me holding her boy.

"MAMA!!" the boy shouted.  I let him go and he bolted right into his mother's arms.

"Thank you so much.." she whispered, tears of joy streaming down her face.

"It's nothing," I smiled weakly, but my smile disappeared as the fire suddenly grew in size.

"Sting, miss, step back," I told them.

"Why?  What are you going to do?" Sting asked.

"Just trust me okay?"  Sting looked hesitant at first, but he nodded and him, the woman, and her son stepped back.  I took in a deep breath.  I know I promised never to use it again, but....  I quickly glanced at the boy and his scared expression as he watched the fire increased in size.  I then looked at Sting who looked at me back with a worried and confused expression.  This is an emergency, and I'm sure that she.....she'd want me to.  I inhaled as much as I could and stood in a battle stance.  "Water Dragon....ROAR!!" I yelled before a burst of crystal blue water spouted from my mouth and hit the store.  When I finished, all that was left was the cooling smoke emitting from it.  I let out breath of relief.

"I did it..." I sighed.  Just then Sting came up and ruffled my hair.

"You did it Jessie!" he said with a broad grin.

"I just said that didn't I?" I chuckled.  Without warning, cheers erupted from the entire mall.  We both turned around to see a crowd cheering at both me and Sting.

"Cool!! So cool!!" a man with blond hair that sticks up in the middle shouted in excitement.  "I'm Jason, a journalist for the Fiore Weekly!"

"Fiore Weekly??" both me and Sting said in unison.  Fiore Weekly was one of the most famous newspapers in the whole country.

"That's right!  And what you two did just now was so COOL!!!" he shouted.  "This story is going in tomorrow's newspaper!"  Jason took out a camera and Sting grinned and put a hand on my shoulder, striking a pose.  I couldn't help but giggle at his funny toothy grin.  Jason snapped a photo right at that second.  "Cool!  This'll be great!!" he cheered.
