Finding A New Place To Live...

(Timeskip-in front of Saber Academy)

~Jessie's P.O.V.~

"Okay, can you stop following me now?" I asked Sting annoyingly.  He was standing right next to me and was following me.  Mark had parked his car about a block away from the school, and I didn't want Sting to walk me there.

"Aw come on, I just want to see where you live.." he said with a hint of mischief.

"Someone's going to pick me up, so one: you won't see my house.  Two: I won't even let you know where that is, and three: that sounded a bit stalkerish."

"Wait, who's going to pick you up?"

"Just--, wait a minute.." I looked at him suspiciously.  "Why do you want to know?"

"Well, maybe someone could kidnap you if you don't know who's picking you up," he replied.

"If that happens, I can take care of myself," I said as I rolled my eyes.  When I continued walking, he still walked beside me.  "Can you please go back home?  Wherever that is?" I asked impatiently.  He smirked and took out a notepad and pencil (from where I don't know).  He scribbled something on it and ripped it off.  He then gave it to me.

I remember this place.  This is where most students at Saber Academy live if they don't have a place of their own.  Father had built the design for it and I think Principal Makarov helped too.  I heard their rent was quite cheap.  "That's my address, if you ever need it," he said with a smile.  For some reason I thought his smile was warm and pleasant, but then I realize that I was staring at his dark blue eyes.

"Yeah, like I'll ever need to come to your place," I said, rolling my eyes again.

"Hmm, you never know," he smirked.  I mentally sigh and stuff the piece of paper in my dress pocket, right next to the white clip.  He must've noticed the faint clinking, because he tilted his head.  "What's in your pocket?" he asked curiously.

"Nothing you should know," I said nonchalantly.  "Anyways, I think my driver is going to kill me if I don't arrive soon, see you later!"  I ran as fast as I could, hoping that he doesn't follow behind me.  When I was sure I didn't hear any footsteps, I slowed down and spotted a certain black car.  When I approached it, the window rolled down to show a very angry Mark.

"Where the hell have you been?  You're twenty minutes late!" he growled.

"Hmm, I suggest you choose your words wisely," I said with a pout.  "Don't forget you still owe me!"  At the moment I said "owe", his eyes contracted (got smaller) in fear.

"S-sumimasen, it won't happen again!" he squeaked, making me stifle a laugh.

"I hope so!" I giggled and got into the seat beside him.  He started the car and started driving home.

"So, in all seriousness, why were you so late?" Mark asked as he drove.

"Oh, Sting wouldn't stop following me," I said as I looked out the window.

"Oh, I see Stessie," he replied.  I looked at him to see a smirk on his lips.

"What did you just call me?" I asked confusingly.

"Oh, uh, nothing," he grinned.  I looked at him suspiciously.

        "You sure?"

"Oh look, we're here!" Mark said, probably mentally sighing in relief.  I still was suspicious, but decided to let it go and got out of the car and entered my home.

"I'm home Father!" I yelled as I took off my black flats.

"Yeah um, Hi..!" Father answered nervously.

"Something wrong?" Just then Mark opened and closed the door.  He then ran up the stairs, which he never does unless something bad was about to happen.  "Um, did something happen..?" I asked.

"W-well, I have an announcement for you.." Father said hesitantly.

        "Okay, what?"

        "You can't live here anymore."

.

.

"WHAT!?!" I screamed, literally shaking the whole house.  "B-but why?!"

"Well..."  Just then Mark came down to put away his car keys, but I stopped him.

"You two are not going anywhere until I get an explanation, or else I use what you owe me now," I growled at them.  They stiffened and rose their hands in surrender.

"W-we can explain!  No need for drastic measures.." Mark stuttered.

        "Explain then, I'm all ears.."

"W-well...Father'll explain!" he said, pushing Father towards me.

"Thanks a lot son," he growled under his breath, but I heard him.

        "Well?" I said impatiently.

"I-it's just that t-the school council doesn't want me to go easy on you," he explained.  Ah, the school council.  I've hated those law-enforcing people since Kindergarten.

"What's that suppose to mean?" I asked, anger still in my voice.

"T-technically when you're a freshman, you're suppose to have a place of your own," said Mark.  "It's a new rule."

"I tried to make you an exception like Mark, but they refused to.." said Father.  "They only allowed him to stay here since he works at Saber."  I sighed.

"Alright, fine, you two are off the hook, for now," I grumbled, and they instantly relaxed.  I went upstairs to go tell Lexi, but she was already waiting for me at the top of the stairs.

        "Sorry Jess," she said sadly.

"Eh, I don't blame the council for making me an exception; they've already done that for a long time now," I replied.

"Hey, if you don't want to go to college, then you shouldn't have to."

"Anyways, are you going to stay here or leave with me?" I asked.

"Leave with you, duh!" she said like it was the most obvious thing in the world.  I smiled and petted her.

"Thanks Lex," I grinned.  "Now help me pack up."

(Timeskip-fifteen minutes later)

"Right, all packed!" I said, wiping off the imaginary dust off my blue skinny jeans.  I was wearing a shirt that was white on top but faded into a light blue [picture].  I was surprised we could fit everything into one suitcase, but then again, it was bigger on the inside.

"Okay, clothes?" Lexi asked, holding a list.

        "Check," I said.

        "Picture?"

        "Check."

        "Phone?"

        "Check."

        "Jewelry?"

        "Check."

        "School supplies?"

        "Check."

        "Clip?"

"Check," I answered as I felt around my pocket.  I then realized that Sting's address was still in my pocket.  Maybe......no, not ever.  I took out my phone from my jean's back pocket and texted my friends.

        "Alright, that's everything," Lexi said.

"Kay, let's go," I said as I opened the handle of the suitcase and rolled it down the stairs.

"Whoa, ready so soon?" said Father when we reached the floor.

        "Yup," I replied.

"Aw, so eager to leave?" mocked Mark.  I shot him a look and he immediately shutted up.

"Well, I'll be going now if you boys are 'so eager for me to leave'," I said and slipped on my dark purple sneakers.

"Hey wait, I didn't mean it like that.." said Mark apologetically.

"I know," I sadly smiled and kissed him on the cheek.  I then kissed Father on the cheek too.

"Well, bye," I said as I opened the door.  They both waved sadly as me and Lexi walked towards Fairy Cafe.

(Timeskip-at Fairy Cafe)

"Hey Jessie, Lexi!  What's up?" Mira greeted as all my friends came into the cafe and sat at the table I was sitting.

"Oh, nothing, just the fact that I need a new place to live.." I answered as I took a sip of my latte.

"Ehhhhh?!" all my friends said in unison.

"But why?" asked a concerned Lucy.

"Apparently the school council put up this new rule where freshman have to find a place of their own.." I sighed.

        "Oh, that rule," said Levy.

"Juvia feels bad for you Jessie-san," said Juvia.

"Yeah, well, you guys all live in Fairy Hills right?" I asked.  They all nodded.  "Maybe I could share rooms with one of you..?

        "Eh...well..." they all practically said.

        "What?" I asked.

"Well, the rent is pretty expensive, and the rooms aren't that big.." Wendy said slowly.

"Oh, I see," I said sadly.  Even though I was a high school prodigy, I was basically poor as dirt.

"W-we're really sorry Jessie.." apologized Erza.

        "It's alright," I sighed.

"So, how was life at Saber Academy?" asked Mira.

"Oh, uh, it was okay," I said.  A sly smile creeped onto everyone's lips.  "What?" I said, not sure why I didn't like the look on their faces.

        "Meet anyone special?" smirked Lucy.

        "N-no.."

"You sure about that?" said Mira, who took out her phone.  She tapped it a couple times then showed me her screen.  My eyes widened at the picture I was looking at.  It was a picture of me and Sting doing that science project in school today.  It was just a baking soda volcano, but I designed it to erupt soda instead.  Me and Sting were lab partners and this picture showed Sting ruffling my hair because he and I got an A+.  At first I laughed, but when I noticed that everyone was looking at me, I pushed him away, but it seems someone took a picture of me and him together when I was laughing.  "You see?  Told ya you would fall for someone there!" smirked Mira.

"Yeah, you two are so cute and popular together, people are shipping you as Stessie!" giggled Levy.  Stessie!  That's what Mark said!  Now that I think about it, he was in the classroom to see me and Sting do our project.

"I am going to kill him really hard.." I growled under my breath.

"Hey, what's that in your pocket Jessie?" asked Lexi, who was pointing to the crumpled yellow sheet of paper in my pocket.

"N-nothing," I lied.  Just then Mira snatched the yellow sheet out of my pocket.  "H-hey, don't--"

"KYAAAA!!!!" Mira squealed with delight.  Everyone crowded around her to read what was on it, and they all squealed or smirked when they read it.

"He gave you his address~!" giggled Lucy.  I could feel my cheeks starting to turn red.

        "Sh-shut up!  So what?"

"So what?" Mira said, faking surprise.  "You can live with him!"

"No," I said firmly.  "Absolutely not."

"Aw come on!  Why not??" pouted Mira.

        "B-because.."  Crap, I don't have an excuse!

"Because?" everyone said, leaning into their chairs.

"Because....Lexi doesn't want to go?"  Everyone was looking at Lexi, who gave me a "really?" face.  Then, her scowl turned into a wicked smile.

"No, I totally want to meet this Sting!" she fake pouted.  I scowled at her.  Jerk! I mentally yell.

"So Jessie?" said Lucy, who was smirking.  I sighed.  Great, I had no more excuses, so I guess I have no choice..

        "Fine," I grumbled.  Everyone cheered.

"Well then, we'll let you go to him by yourself," grinned Erza.  Everyone nodded and left the cafe.  I sighed and buried my face in my arms, which were resting on the table this entire time.

        "Check please," I sighed.

~Sting's P.O.V.~

"So Sting, I remember seeing you and that new girl together," said Rufus, who was wearing his usual clothing.

"Oh Jessie?  We're in all the same classes together, and we're next to each others' lockers," I explained as me, him, and Rogue are all walking down the hall of Saber Cavern.

"Did you try to flirt with her?" asked Orga, who was also walking with us.  He was still a bit shaken from the incident at lunch.  I was about to lie when Rogue spoke up.

"Yeah, he did, and he got beaten up for it," smirked Rogue.  Damn you Rogue!

"N-not true!  She just caught me off guard!" I insisted.

"Yeah, right.." Rogue rolled his eyes.

"Well, you surely got your butt kicked in gym though," smirked Orga.

"Shut up," I grumbled.  "You did too!"

"Yes, but remember you got beat up by a newbie," said Rufus.

"Ooh, burn!" snickered Orga and Rogue.  Just we heard the door from the far side of the hall open.  My apartment was right here, so I scrambled open the door.  I watched Rogue, Orga, and Rufus scramble behind a big plant before I closed the door.  Crap!  Please don't tell me that's the landlord!  I stood still as I heard the footsteps get louder and louder.  I think I heard something heavy trailing behind the footsteps.  The footsteps got louder and louder until...

Ding Dong!

This is it!  I'm done for!!  I slowly opened my door to see..

        "Jessie??"
