At Lunch~

(Timeskip-at the cafeteria)

~Jessie's P.O.V.~

"Lunch, finally!" Sting cheered when we were in the hallway.

"Tch, are you that hungry?" I rolled my eyes.

"Aw come on, don't tell me you're not!"

"I'm not." He fake pouted, which made me roll my eyes again. "Are you just going to keep hitting on me?" He frowned.

"No," He said seriously, which caught me by surprise. I had never heard him so serious before, but then again, it's only been a couple hours since I met him.

"O-okay.." I said, still a bit caught off guard. We walked in silence when we approached two huge doors.

"Well, here we are, the second best place in Saber Academy!" Sting said proudly, his arrogant tone back.

"What's the first?" I asked with a bit of a smile at his cheerfulness.

"The gym of course!" said Sting, as if it was the most obvious thing ever. I chuckled and opened the doors to the cafeteria. You'd think that it would be more organized and way bigger than a normal high school, but actually, it's the same size as Fairy Tail High's, which was not surprising; it was pretty big. There were three lunch lines, and several tables. As soon as we entered, Sting immediately ran towards his friends at their table, which was most likely the "popular" table since I saw Minerva was sitting there. Most of the tables were already filled, but there was an empty table with only one girl sitting on it. The girl had short white hair and a blue rose clip on it. she was wearing a white dress shirt, but it had more of a curve than mine. She had a dark blue skirt on with dark blue knee high socks and black flats. I went towards her and sat down across from her.

"Hi," I greeted. She looked up from a book she was reading. she had brown eyes to go with her short hair.

"Oh, hi," she said quietly. Just then her eyes widened. "Wait, aren't you Jessie Celestia?"

"Um, yeah," I said slowly, not knowing how she knew my name.

"Oh! It's such a pleasure to meet you!" she said excitedly, yet her voice still kept a soft tone. "I heard that you solved that three year old math problem and the way you defeated Sting in battle was just amazing!" Oh wow, that already spread? When I looked at her confusingly, her face flushed. "Um, I mean, I kind of admire you.." she said embarrassingly. I smiled.

"It's alright, I'm actually kinda flattered," I said, rubbing the back of my neck.

"A-ano, you don't have to sit next to me, you can go to their table if you want," she said, gesturing towards the table where Sting was sitting. He was smiling and laughing along with his other friends, which including Orga, Rogue, and a boy with long blond hair and a feathery hat. He seemed to be wearing a red mask, which I thought was weird. Minerva was their as well, just looking right at Sting with a sly smile.

"Um, I think I'm good just sitting here," I grinned. "So, what's your name?"

"Yukino. Yukino Aguria," she answered hesitantly.

"Yukino, I like it," I said with a warm smile. "I'm pretty sure it translates to 'snowy'?" She slightly blushed when she nodded. "Well, it suits you." For a while, we talked, and I asked her more about Sting and his other friends.

"Oh, that's just Rufus," Yukino answered when I asked who was the masked boy. "He's kind of mysterious, and he knows Memory Make magic." Memory Make? Heh, looks like Gray's got a rival.

"What about Orga?" I asked curiously.

"He has Lightning God Slayer magic, but somehow Sting is still able to beat him in battle," Yukino answered.

"Okay, how about Rogue?" When I mentioned his name, I noticed Yukino's face slightly turn pink. I couldn't help but smirk like Mira when she saw a potential match.

"Oh? You like Rogue?" I asked, emphasizing "like".

"W-well, I-I just think he's c-cute..." Yukino stuttered. "B-but I know he'll never return my feelings.."

"Aw, don't be like that, I'm sure he'll fall for you if he met you," I comforted.

"Easy for you to say," Yukino sadly smiled.

"Hmm? What do you mean?" I asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Well, you and Sting are such a good couple, and a lot of people already know it.." she replied. My eyes widened.

"WHAT?!" I practically yelled, earning some people's attention. I slowly melted into my seat until people stopped looking. "What?!" I yelled a bit softer.

"Um, yeah, you two have been the talk of the school since first block," said Yukino. I melted into my seat even more.

"Great, just great," I muttered.
"I'm sorry for telling you that, I probably shouldn't have.."

"No, it's alright," I sighed, sitting back up. "It's not your fault." Yukino slightly smiled.

"Ano, you're very kind," she shyly said. "You're nicer than the other people here.."

"Well, friends should be this nice, right?" I grinned. She grinned.

"Yeah."

"So...whatcha gals talking about?" I looked up to see Sting smirking with Rogue and Orga beside him. He was standing near Yukino, who was blushing again. He seemed to be avoiding eye contact with her.

"None of your business Sting," I hissed at him, annoyed that they were making Yukino uncomfortable.

"Hey whoa whoa, no need to get hostile.." He said, putting up his hands in surrender.

"Why are you here Sting?" I asked irritably.

"I was wondering why you ain't joining us at the popular table," he answered as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.

"Um no," I said firmly. "I think I rather enjoy my lunch in peace."

"Aw come on, it's not that bad," Orga reasoned. "It's better than sitting on the outcast table." Both me and Rogue(?) glared daggers at him. I stood up, angry that he was being mean to Yukino.

"Gonna apologize to her?" I growled to Orga, my blood boiling.

"Why should I? It's not like--" I grabbed the collar of his shirt and lifted him up, despite him being twice the size of myself.

"Apologize to my friend, now."

"S-sorry," he whispered. I let go of him.

"That wasn't so bad, was it?" I said with a smirk. I wish I had my phone with me because the look on Sting's face was priceless, but it wasn't just him; the whole room was looking at me. "Anybody else?" I said loudly to the silent room. Everybody immediately went back to eating their lunch and Sting, Orga, and Rogue quickly went back to their table. Sastified, I sat back down.

"Y-you didn't have to do that for me.." Yukino said quietly. I looked at her confused.

"Of course I have to! That's what friends are for right? We stand up for each other," I said with a toothy grin. Her smile slightly grew wider.

"Yeah, I guess so," she said.
