The calm before the storm. 
I now know why I had been so anxious and what triggered me to dissociate, it was mum.
She had just yelled at me for my behaviour (which I thought was better) this is the third time she sat me down and yelled at me, this is the third time I thought I was doing better only to find out I'm still not good enough for her. I needed to get out of here and fast. I wrote a note and left it in my room in case they got worried, I didn't need to be yelled at again.

I grabbed my phone, climbed out of my window, over the gate then walked along the road. It takes around half an hour to get into town from home so I decided to head to the lake, just outside the other side of town. As I walked I reflected on myself, what I was and wasn't doing at home, and how could I be better. My mind drew a blank, I honestly thought I was doing better this time. I stopped cutting, drinking and smoking, how was I supposed to be better than that? 

My phone beeped with a message, I was surprised to see it was from Bailey.
"Hey"
"U awake?"
I stared at the messages for a second, an uneasy feeling in my stomach. Butterflies.
"Yeah, what's up?" I responded as guilt filled my lungs, I shouldn't like him, it's not going to work out and I hate myself for loving him. My stomach fluttered when he responded.
"You keep subtly mentioning us as a couple, and I can't stop thinking of the idea"
"What if we were in a relationship? I've been wondering if I'm opposed to that" His message read.
Pause, what? Is he suggesting that he has feelings for me? 
Oh god. Was it that obvious I liked him? Shit.

I stared at the message and then checked the time. Is this real? Am I dreaming?
"I've been wondering too" I replied, a million thoughts going through my head.
Best case scenario, he likes me back and we start dating. Worse case scenario, I've just ruined a good friendship.
"And?" Was Bailey's response, I took a deep breath before I sent my next message.
"And, if anything happens I don't want to ruin our friendship, but,"
"I'm not opposed to the idea" I held my breath, my heart beating out of my chest.
Was this really happening? Please don't let this be a joke.
Please.

My phone buzzed again, this time I didn't look at the message straight away. I continued walking for a bit, trying to get my thoughts in order.
Is this was Luna meant? "When given the chance, don't overthink it, just go with it"
Sure, it was a brief message and could be for anything but I had a feeling this is what she meant.
I was almost at the lake now, so I decided to read Bailey's new messages.

"I'm not opposed to it either" he started,
"I've been thinking about it since the matilda trip" so had I.
"And certain things you say it feels like you were kind of giving signals? And I was stuck there wondering if it was normal or what was happening" I was dropping hints.
"And whether I should ask about it or wait for you to say something" now you know.
"Do you actually have feelings for me?" of fucking course I do.

"I do, I really do" I replied. I didn't want to seem desperate but I do really like Bailey.
"That makes me really happy" Bailey responded, causing me to smile, I sat down at the lake.
I took a deep breath to calm myself down, the smile never leaving my face.
"Does this mean we're dating now?" I asked him,
"If you want to, yeah" 
"Yeah I do, if you want to"
"I do too"

It was now official, we are together and dating. I was so incredibly happy. I checked the time again and decided to head home so I could get some sleep tonight.
I couldn't wait to see Bailey at school, my new partner.
