The message

Heya everyone! I apologise for such a late update. It's just that I was stuck with a family work!!! Now that I am free, I shall update the chapters regularly! (The whole chapters are saved in drafts but I need to edit them before getting them published)😍😍

Ameeya's POV

"And one two three go!" Shouted my over enthusiastic aerobics instructor and I prevented myself from rolling my eyes (partly because it was her job and partly because I didn't want other gym trainers to see my reflection in the mirror).

I tried to smile at the lady close to me as she signalled me that I needed to move my hips a little more. I couldn't stop myself for letting out a laugh and then realised that finally, I was moving on.

The idea of the gym was to lose a little weight that I had accumulated as a part of binge eating . I had always been on a healthier side but never stopped loving my body. (Despite being subject to the constant taunts by my previous husband.)

The day went normally. I had my lunch as u reached home, went for a Agatha Christie book to divert my over thinking head and by the end of evening, exhausted myself with the work. Before going to sleep, I sighed as it must have been a hundredth time I had looked at my phone. As I slept close to my mother, I heard an unexpected chime at the midnight.

"Hi. Anant here. Ragini gave me your number."

And finally, I heaved a sigh of relief. I never wanted to confess my family how much interesting I had found him as a person. Besides, it gave my ego a boost. It meant a few things that were good for my low self esteem. That I still had it what it took to date someone after being separated. I still had what it took to be an attractive person.

"Hi. Ameeya here" I typed almost instantly. And then half scolded by already eager, thudding heart.

Anant:- I apologise for messaging you so late at night. You see, winters are usually the busiest time for the business. I reached home at 10 pm.

Me:- That is okay. I understand.

(No I do not understand why the hell did you take a whole day to message me!)

I looked up to find Nishit moving his eyebrows up and down, grinning from ear to ear. I couldn't help but give out an embarrassed laugh. It was like my college days. Those days when my crush would message me and I couldn't stop blushing at Nitish's teasings.

"I can see you in your element now." Nishit teased before I motioned him that my kick on his butt would drive him straight off out of the planet. He laughed as he left the room while I focused on the chat. I didn't know how and when he had entered the room like a sleek cat with her noiseless paws, entering and exiting the room like a literal ghost.

One whole minute had passed. Nothing to talk about.

Me:- Next time I would come wearing specs.

Anant:- what?

Me:- I forgot to tell you. I have specs. Last time I came wearing contact lens.

Anant:- So you have got 4 eyes? 🤔😅😂(yes people. It is said that having specs is equivalent to having four eyes)

Me:- Yeah kind of😅

Anant:- Mind if I get two more?

Me:- what?

Anant:- I mean, would you mind if I too get four eyes? I mean spectacles?

I smiled. His flirting was so lame. At least he tried. But I didn't want to give him false hopes. I wanted to know him first. Flirting and romance can happen later.

Me:- Sure. I guess my presence had that impact on you. Anyways, let's talk tomorrow. It's already midnight. You must be tired.

I crossed my fingers, hoping him stating that he wasn't tired and didn't mind waking up for me.

Him:- You seem to be tired.

I didn't know whether he was guessing or just stating the fact. I didn't want to appear desperate or overeager so decided to agree with him.

Me:- Yeah kind of...

Again one whole minute passed. As we were chatting on WhatsApp, I could see him typing something for a minute. I turned around to adjust the blanket that laid upon me  and got startled as soon as I heard the "ting" on phone. It was him.

Him: Okay, good night.

That's it? It took him a damn whole minute to just type "good night?" I slapped my forehead.

"You are an idiot." Suddenly I saw Nitish appearing again, his head peeping through the half closed door of bedroom. I guess he knew it before hand that I would create a disaster.

I sighed with the lost prospect of an interesting chat. A chat that could have changed my life. How much I yearned for miracles in my life.

Little did I know that now everything would turn out to be magical for me. It was happening.

Heya guys, sorry for the slow burn but trust me it is really gonna worth it!
