Chapter 5- Frank

Hello again! It's me! Sorry that I keep publishing chapters really inconsistently, but now I'm trying to get one out about every two weeks, so yeah! Hope you enjoy this chapter :)!

Frank knew he wasn't going to be any help in a fight as a koi, so he transformed into a shark. He looked over at Percy, who was gritting his teeth so hard he thought they might crack. He finally seemed to relax a bit and told Frank in his mind: you distract it while I find its weak spot. And stay out of range of its nose hairs.

The skolopendra roared again, and the two demigods charged. Frank swam around the monster, occasionally swimming into its armour, so that it wouldn't turn on Percy, who was searching for any weaknesses they could use. After a long time, Frank got careless and the skolopendra lunged at him with its nose hairs, knocking him to the ground. It towered over him, and then it blew up.

Percy stood there, Riptide in hand, grinning. But then, the telkhines surrounded them, all holding scythes or swords made of celestial bronze. One stepped forwards and said, "Percy Jackson, you have slain one of our brethren. For that, I, Simon the telkhine, will put an end to your miserable lives!" Simon snapped his fingers and suddenly, the cavern was completely dry. Frank turned back into a human and said, "Hold up. Your name is Simon the telkhine?"

"Yes, and if it brings you terror, it is normal. In the second giant war, I brought down the so- called mighty Bill. However, that doesn't matter now. I raised your father under the sea, Percy Jackson, but I will strike you down. Attack!" The telkhines brandished their weapons and stormed the two demigods. Frank confidently put his sword through the first line of telkhines with one swift movement.

"Nice," Percy grinned.

"Thanks, but there are oh, I dunno, couple hundred more, so, um let's congratulate each other once we send them to Tartarus, eh?" Frank replied.

Percy nodded, and the two lept into the tide of monsters. The two worked like a well- oiled machine, ploughing through the monsters, but there were too many. The remaining telkhines split into two groups, one taking on Percy, the other taking on Frank. After a long while of fighting, Frank seemed to be at a stalemate with the telkhines. He was holding them back, but he couldn't kill them all. Suddenly, Frank heard Percy yelp. He was cornered. Frank said a silent prayer to Mars- Dad, please. Percy is in trouble. Help me.

He had no idea if that worked, so he focused on the fact that Percy, one of his best friends, was being overcome by monsters. The rage pumped adrenaline through his body, and not thinking, he sliced through all the telkhines. If they scratched him, he barely noticed. Soon, all that remained of the monsters were small piles of powder

Frank ran over to Percy, who was lying on the ground ashen- faced. "No. No. Percy.." He was close to tears. Suddenly a flash of fire appeared behind Frank who turned. Standing there in Italian Special Forces fatigues was the god of war. "Mars."

The god spoke with warmth and gentleness, but also urgently. "My son. You have again done me proud. Not only in destroying the telkhines have you cleansed this cavern, but also saved your friend, but if you don't do something, thst won't be the case for long. He has been afflicted with the poison of the telkhines."

"What do I have to do?"

"You must seek out Asclepius in... I can't pinpoint a location but he is somewhere in.. Rome."

"Why can't you just snap your fingers and heal him?"Frank asked desperately.

Mars touched his hand to Percy's forehead. "I'm sorry, my son but the Fates have decreed that the gods cannot interfere. The most I can do is slow the poison. Find Asclepius in Rome. But beware, Frank. He is being held there against his will. You have three days to save your friend. You were brave, my boy. You did me proud." Mars took out two grenades from his belt. "Now, I will send you two back to your ship. Goodbye, Frank." He pulled the pins and threw one at Frank and another at Percy.

Next thing Frank knew, he was on the Argo II, standing on the deck next to Percy who was unconscious, right in front of where Hazel was standing. "Frank!" She tackled him into a bear hug.

"I missed you two," he smiled, then his face fell. "Go call Annabeth. I'm bringing Percy to the infirmary."

She nodded and ran off in the direction of Annabeth's cabin. Meanwhile, Frank started to haul Percy to the infirmary.

Annabeth, Hazel and Frank were all seated around the bed where Percy lay.

"Is he going to be alright?"Annabeth looked on the verge of tears.

"It's alright, Annabeth. We need to find Asclepius in Rome. I'll go tell Leo where to go now." Frank got up and left the infirmary and walked to Leo's cabin and knocked on the door. Leo poked his head out. "Hey, Frank. Did the big scary monsters scare you?" he joked.

Frank managed a chuckle. "We need to leave for Rome. now. Percy has three days to live unless we find Ascle-pi- umm.. the god of healing, so we should get going." Leo's eyes widened. He opened the door and ran to the control panel. The Argo II lifted off the Atlantic Ocean and flew off, on a mission to save Percy Jackson, saviour of Olympus and glue of the seven.

If you enjoyed, consider voting for it and if you didn't, you could tell me why in the comments and I'll try to improve it! Also in the comments, try and guess who's keeping Asclepius (god of healing) hostage? Anyway, until next time (Probably 2 weeks?). Ciao!
