Song: "Zorro Theme" (90s version)

        Okay, be honest, guys. How many of you have actually heard of the 1950s Zorro? I would assume few since most of us weren't living when it was on the air. But, I had the great honor of being introduced to it after I fell in love with Antonio Banderas's version of the masked outlaw. My grandmother noticed how much I enjoyed those movies, so she got me some Walt Disney's Zorro for Christmas one year. It's a fantastic show, and I highly recommend it to anyone with access to Disney+. Guy Williams shines as Zorro!

The idea for this fanfic came when I watched the series one night. I asked myself, "Zorro has never killed, right? So what if he did by accident?" Twas, The Torch of Zorro was born. It's a new draft of my Zorro fanfic that I wrote during high school, which you'll find in my memoir, Wait! I Wrote That?. I love to play with character development in stories, and while Diego/Zorro's is brilliant in the show, I want to take it even further and prove that while he is a hero, he is still human and makes mistakes. Therefore, one of the main themes I will focus on in this book is humanity and what makes us human. To be a hero is not easy, especially if that hero does not have superpowers (Fun Fact: Zorro is considered one of the first "heroes" in all literature).

I'm so excited to dive into this book and have fun with my favorite characters from the show! It will mark my third and final writing project until I reach the next level of my writing career. I don't know how long it will be, but we'll see. I hope you guys will check out this different kind of Zorro story and ask questions about what makes people human in the first place.

That said, it's time to dive into The Torch of Zorro!
