Silver's POV

I stared back at those glowing pair of blue eyes that pierced through the darkness of the seemingly empty space. Those eye met my topaz pair,  staring right up to my soul, making my spine ran cold with intense fear. Me and Shadow stood frozen on our spots, gazing at those menacing icy pools in fear. None of us made a single movement, thinking it would alarm whatever that creature is.

After a long moment of silence, Sonic finally sighed and shook his head at us. "They're harmless, twinsie. You may approach them." He said to the owner of those eyes. Wait a second, did he just say... "twinsie"? I was completely bewildered for what I knew from him, he doesn't have a twin brother or sister.

Before I could piece the entire mystery altogether, the eyes disappeared and replaced with a shadowy figure walking slowly to us. I shined my flaming torch above the small body to see its features more clearly.

It was a female hedgehog that has a lighter tone of blue fur, probably turquoise, a crimson red stripe across her forehead like Shadow's and her quills were turquoise except the last set's red. She's wearing a loose fitting white dress with black laces at the hem, glittery silver slippers, gold gauntlets and an amulet with a blue gem suspended on a silver chain hanging around her neck. Her gleaming blue eyes were as calm as the ocean as she stared quietly at us.

"Go on. They won't hurt you because I'm here." Sonic said to her in a reassuring voice. She nodded silently and stepped forward to me and Shadow. She's about our height as well so she had no trouble gazing at our own pairs of eyes.

"Hello there," she greeted us in a formal voice, "My name's Saphira, Saphira the Hedgehog. You may call me Saphie if you want." She held up her hands and grasped one hand from each of us, shaking them lightly. "You two must be Shadow and Silver the Hedgehogs."

"Wait, how did you know us?" Shadow sternly asked, raising a brow at her. She simply shrugged it off and replied, "I have my reliable sources." She glanced over to Sonic, who nodded slightly and walked to her side.

"So... is this your secret, Faker? Your twin sister?" Shadow frowned a bit, thinking that he was wasting his time here in this musty, dark and gloomy cave. I looked over to Sonic and saw him shook his head lightly. "This is not my only secret, Shadz. It is just the beginning of it." He answered and held Saphie's hand gently with his own. "What do you mean, Sonic?" I inquired him furthur, interested to know more about her life.

Sonic swiveled his head to one side and picked up what appears to be a leather bound notebook of some sort at a shelf built from old wood and chipped large pieces of rock. "Let's go outside first then we can talk about it." He said and walked past us along with Saphie. With the torch, I guided all of us out of the darkness and into the light of the outside world.

As we came out of that place, questions began to pop up in my mind. Who is she? Why did Sonic hid her in the first place? And what are the secrets behind the hedgehog girl?
