Shadow's POV

"Shadz, would ya hurry up please? I don't want any slowpokes you know! You too Silvz, could you speed up a little more?" The blue boy commanded us in a sharp loud tone. I growled a bit in annoyance, while that silver hedgehog behind me grunted from his lack of speed. He couldn't run as fast as me and Faker can however he has his telekinetic powers which can be used at anytime. Apart from lacking physical strength and all.

It was past noon and here we are, walking and being ordered around by Sonic. He apparently had something to show us but we have no clue what it is. Whatever it is, he seems excited or anxious about showing us his secret. Not that I'm curious and all.

A few weeks ago, Sonic was acting rather different, though he's still cocky as always. He would wake up much earlier than his usual time and go outside while the rest of us are sleeping. I sometimes caught him at that time and he would make quick excuses, like having an early running for some fresh air or picking up a few things at some random place. Of course, what he said was true but I also believed that he's hiding something from us.

When I caught him going outside for the seventh time, I finally grew more suspicious at his strange habits and approached him with caution. "Hey Faker. How long are you continue with your charades?" I asked him sternly.

He stared at me like he didn't know what I'm talking about. "Uh... what was that Shadz?" I crossed my arms and squinted my eyes at him. "I'm serious Faker. What is going on? Why do you always wake up very early and ran off like that?" He looked at me with the slightest trace of fear in his eyes but he kept his composure.

He finally gave up after a few minutes and sighed wearily. "I guess the jig is up, eh?" He said. "What are you hiding, Faker?" I asked him again. He sighed and scratched his head nervously. "If you wanna uh... Find out what it is, you gotta wait until tomorrow at noon time. Bring Silver along. He deserves to know this as well..." He instructed slowly.

I raised a brow at the last part but nodded silently at his instructions. "Good. I have to go now..." He said and swiftly dashed away, leaving me alone. "That hedgehog's so strange sometimes..." I mumbled and walked off to another direction.

Right now, we're at the Green Hills Zone, where the sun's rays shone over our bodies, making our fur gleamed bright. I had told Silver about it and let him join this little trip of his. I don't know why he couldn't just bring his other friends around, like Tails, Amy, Knuckles, Blaze and such instead of just me and Silver. Whatever it is, the greyish white hedgehog said it's best not to ask him about that. I would ignore his advice but I guess he's right so I didn't ask any further about it.

It felt like hours until we had reached to where the blue hedgehog wanted us to go. He walked towards the side of a rocky cliff though I don't see any cave or some random opening on it. "Are you tricking us, Iblis Trigger?" Silver frowned at Sonic, using the same title name he used to call him before. Sonic shook his head at him. "I'm not. This is the place." He said then took out a green colored amulet. I could see it is an emerald amulet but it's not a Chaos Emerald. Whatever it is, the power within that gem was intense, unlike a single Chaos Emerald alone.

Sonic then hovered it around a certain spot on the cliff then the ground began to shake. I quickly held my ground and Silver did the same as a hole started to open up on the stony wall of the cliff. Once the shaking settled, a large cave stood in front of the three of us.

"This way!" Faker declared and walked inside the darkness of the cave. Silver and I followed him from behind, mystified by the events currently happening from time to time. It was really dark inside the wide cave however Silver found a lit torch and picked it up, using its burning flame to light the way. I had this odd feeling that Faker was leading us into a trap, but honestly he wouldn't do that to us right? Maybe I'm just acting a bit off because of the coldness and unsettling appearance of this partially damp interior of the place.

Finally, Sonic stopped near the end of the cave and turned his head to face us. We both stopped in front of him as he looked at us with serious look in his eyes. "Okay guys remember, this a secret between the three of us. Don't ever tell anyone about it. Or even let our enemies know. Got it?"

"Loud and clear, faker." I nodded and replied. "Yeah. When do we ever betray you for once, Sonic?" Silver said to him. I did a few times to him way back, I thought to myself and cleared my throat. Sonic raised a brow at me then walked towards the end of the cave. "You may come out now." He beckoned to the dark spacing in front of him. Before we could react or even know what's going on, I heard a light scraping of feet on the floor, followed by a scratching sound on the walls.

Then, from the darkness, came a pair of glowing blue eyes staring straight at us...
