The Unfortunate Event
"Jack, when the man called, it didn't seem right." Gusto began. Jack looked at his Russian partner with his brows furrowed and eyes squinted. He placed his menu down gently.
"What you mean?" He asked with a frown. "It seemed perfectly clear to me. Our answer was a library..." Jack said with a shrug. Gusto looked at him with a curious glance, then back at his menu. They only had a couple hundred dollars in their wallets.
Gusto looked back up to Jack then shrugged. However, he was still curious.
"How'd you figure it out so quickly?" Gusto asked his partner.
"It was easy, the riddle gave us a clue."
"An unfamiliar piece of paper. Yeah what kind of paper can be odd?" Gusto asked with another frown, if someone counted the amount of frowns that Gusto expressed in the last hour and have been awarded a dollar for every time he did so, they'd be nearly, a handful of dollars richer.
"Why do you always have to be so negative? We can find out what they did to us, but we need to play their game for now-"
"Here's your drinks." A waitress popped in, and it was probably just the two men being tired, but they swore that the second waitress wasn't the same waitress as before. Even though she had the same name tag on and everything.
"Did you used to have blonde hair?" Jack asked as he jumped and then rubbed his eyes when the waitress was giving them their drinks. The waitress smiled and then pulled out her notepad so that she could take down the men's orders from the menu.
"Have you figured out what you want to have to eat today, men?" She smiled with her cherry red lipsticked lips and her gorgeous sea blue eyes that glistened against the sunlight that flowed through the retro-looking diner.
"A cheeseburger, with mushrooms?" Jack asked.
"What would you like for a side?"
Jack shrugged. "Curly fries?" He answered.
"Sure thing, and for you?" The blonde turned to look at Gusto.
"Same thing, no mustard though...." Gusto replied.
"Thanks, your orders will be here soon." The waitress finished jotting down her notes and smiled at the men, and then she quickly hurried back towards the kitchen.
"That was strange, Jack."
"What was?"
Gusto rubbed his long dark hair and rubbed his small beard.
"We woke up this morning, right. Not knowing who we were." Gusto furrowed his brows against the sunlight. It seems the waitress forgot to collect the menus.
"-Yes? We did, and we're doing what they're telling us to do. What's so wrong about that?" Jack asked as he squinted his eyes towards Gusto. "Everything's fine. There's nothing to worry about." He added, but Gusto didn't appear to be comfortable in any sense of regard to their situation.
"We need to solve this thing and fast, find out who we are and what to do next."
"Sorry boys!" The door to the kitchen swung open with a thwack, and a old fat dude with no hair and a chef's hat came barging in to the diner. He had a double pumped shotgun with him. "The diner's closed!" The two partners took cover and flipped the table over. Just as Gusto managed to take cover, the chef took out a chunk of the top of the couch, that Gusto was just sitting in.
"You fucking mad mate?" Gusto shouted. The chef was coming closer to their seat, the sodas spilled all over the floor causing the tiles to be sticky. It was a good thing that there weren't any people inside the diner. The sign never said it was closed, but the chef was shooting at them. They had to do something.
Jack gestured to the table that they just flipped over. He counted down from three with using his fingers and together the two used the table to push it against the chef who barged in on them using a shotgun. The chef toppled over and dropped his weapon, and the two rushed out of the diner.
Once the two escaped, the blonde woman that tricked the two men, she was tossed in a dumpster. With a bullet in between the eyes and blood dripping down her face.
And as the two hurried down the street. The diner erupted into a large burst of flames. Causing a loud disturbance in the city of Seattle. The pedestrians across the street screamed and ran. Some calling 911. The only noise in the background was the sirens of the ambulance, police, and the fire safety.
Who were those people. And why did they want Jack and Gusto dead?

So sorry guys. Hope you don't mind this quick interaction. It seems that Jack and Gusto won't be getting something to eat. XE
