Chapter Thirteen

The minute that Dean saw his son stab the king, his heart sank. Sure, he wanted his son to be tough, but by killing the king he had blood on his hands. Kristina and Dean watched Ezra's powers return to him and once they were released, Kristina and Dean raced down to meet Ezra. By the time they got to the arena, Ezra looked terrible.

"Ezra.." Kristina said. "What did you do?"

"Son? Are you okay?" Dean asked. Ezra looked at his father and his aunt before stepping away from them.

"Ezra wait!" Kristina and Dean called back and chased after him. They found Ezra sitting by a tree lost in thought, even though he looked fine, Kristina and Dean knew otherwise, they walked over to him and sat down.

"Ezra?" Kristina said. "What's going on?"

"I killed him.." Ezra said.

"Ezra, you had no choice, it was self defense." Dean answered.

"It doesn't matter, the kingdom doesn't have anyone to rule over them," Ezra answered. "Dad? Aunt Kristina? What do I do?"

"There's nothing you can do," Dean said. "What's done is done, you can't exactly reset the clock and avoid that, but you also have to think that what you did was the only thing you could do."

"That's right," Kristina agreed. "Sometimes you have to do what you need to do, damn those consequences," Ezra was about to say something when a light suddenly appeared the trio held up their hands and saw a beautiful woman dressed in red. "What the?"

"Galena?" Ezra said as the light died down.

"You know this chick?" Dean said in surprise and stood up.

"I am not just any chick Dean Michael Winchester." The woman, Galena said.

"Oh, come on!" Dean complained. "So even someone who's over 100 years old knows my middle name?"

"Hey she probably only knows you." Kristina said.

"Not true, I know you as well Kristina Joy Cossa Winchester," Kristina stepped back surprised. Ezra just laughed since his relatives clearly didn't know that this was the sorceress that they came all the way back to find. "I know we have little time, there is a way for you guys to go home, that ring Ezra is wearing, if he breaks it, then everyone will be sent back to their timeline."

"Hang on!" Ezra said out loud. "You never told me much about this mark!"

"It is the mark of Michael." Galena said.

"The mark of Michael?" Ezra asked. "You mean the archangel?"

"Yes," Galena answered. "Only those who have been marked by Michael will have it, I know it might confuse you, but in time you will understand."

"How could Michael even mark Ezra?" Kristina asked.

"It doesn't matter, I won't let Michael touch him, he's my son I won't let anything happen to him."

"You can't stop what's coming Dean," Galena warned. "Sure, Ezra and Mary may have stopped the angels, but there is something more to the prophecy than you know. Something that even the men of letters can't stop, it's been around for centuries."

"But we stopped them.." Dean started.

"Like I said, you only fulfilled half the prophecy, the rest of it foretells an impending doom," Kristina, Dean and Ezra looked at each other worriedly "as for going back to your timeline, you will get back, but when you get back, you won't remember what I've told you."

"But that was the whole point of us coming here!" Ezra exclaimed. Dean and Kristina had to keep him back to make sure that he didn't attack Galena. "What's the point of learning about this tattoo if I won't remember anything!"

"You will learn on your own Ezra." Without saying another word, Galena disappeared leaving Dean and his family alone by the tree.

"Well, that was a waste of time," Kristina complained. "So we got sent back in time to 1522 for no damn reason?!" Kristina groaned and crossed her arms.

"It doesn't matter, let's just get back home I'm sure that everyone back home is worried sick about us." Dean suggested. Ezra nodded and set the ring down in front of him. They locked arms as Ezra stepped on it, immediately, red smoke engulfed them as the group was teleported out of 1522 and sent back to their present day.
