Chapter Seven

Dean was trying to sleep but the constant high-pitched ringing was not helping him. In fact, it made matters worse. Dean groaned and opened his eyes to find that his son was gone. Worried, he tapped Kristina in the arm trying to get her up.

"Kristina! Wake up! Ezra! He's gone!" Kristina bolted awake and saw what Dean was seeing. "All I can hear is a stupid high pitched ring and I don't know what it is, nor do I really want to find out."

"That high-pitched ring was a siren," Kristina said. "I thought you would have known considering you hunted one."

"Yeah, I hunted one, and that didn't go so well. My brother and I fell under his spell," Dean continued. "Come on, we have to save Ezra before the siren puts him under a spell again." Kristina was already up and moving.

"Remember that during this time, siren's lure sailors to their deaths, this isn't a land siren," Kristina explained. "This is a siren that sits on a rock and lures its victim onto rocks."

"I don't fucking care!" Dean exclaimed. "My wife will kill me if Ezra dies," Kristina and Dean took off after Ezra. They followed him near the shores of the beach, the minute that they neared the shores, Ezra was already getting closer to the edge. Kristina and Dean raced over and grabbed Ezra by the arms attempting to drag him back. However, the siren kept pushing her song. Annoyed Dean yelled toward the creature. "You bottom dweller! Knock it off before I throw a damn bronze dagger at you!" As if registering what was going on, the siren glared and dove into the water.

"Ezra! Snap out of it!" Kristina yelled. Ezra stumbled back and looked at his father and his aunt.

"Ow! Aunt Kristina! Dad! You're hurting my arms!" Ezra complained. Kristina and Dean let go of him and brought him as far away from the shore as he could "What happened?"

"Ezra, it nearly sent you to your death. That thing was trying to lure you over the edge. You need to be more careful."

I should have expected that there would be a siren around here. Kristina thought to herself, this was becoming overwhelming to her and the amount of things that happened so far was weighing on her. Ezra not feeling like he belonged and Dean acting so overprotective or if she remembered the term correctly a helicopter parent. At least he wasn't keeping Ezra and Shela in place all on lock down. After all, he did that at least once when his brother went to hell. One thing was certain, if Ezra needed to know about that tattoo then he needed to learn things for himself. Kristina double checked to make sure that Ezra wasn't under the siren's control again, when she knew he was safe, she looked up and directly behind them was a large stone castle. Due to how large it was, she could have mistaken it for Dracula's castle but that wasn't the case now. It towered over the ocean, the part of the castle that faced the ocean was lit under the moonlight giving it an ominous look.

"Hey guys," Kristina said. "I guess the siren helped a little, look." Ezra turned and saw the large castle, they were yards away from it, and only a few more miles to trek before they could make it to the castle.

"Why did it always have to be a siren?" Ezra complained. "As for the castle, dad doesn't this kind of remind you of.."

"Don't. Say it." Dean started but Ezra interrupted.

"Like when you and uncle Sam went on that black and white case? and you nearly got frankensteined?"

"Why did you say that Ezra?" Dean complained, Kristina laughed.

"Come on, admit, it was funny. You practically got strapped to a table, and that shapeshifter was attempting to shock you."

"Yeah if he wasn't interrupted then I would have been shocked." Dean said.

"Okay, I get it tonight was terrible, how about we just get some sleep, then we can make the trek to the castle tomorrow morning?" Ezra suggested.

"Fine by me, just Ezra, please do not wander off again." Kristina said. Ezra agreed despite that, he wanted to make sure that he knew everything he needed to know about the tattoo. If anyone in the castle would know a thing or two about it. Kristina, Dean and Ezra traveled back to their campsite and laid down, the minute that Kristina laid her head down on the hard ground it took her a little while to fall asleep.
