Chapter Eleven
With Kristina and Dean trapped in the dungeons, it left them alone with each other in uncomfortable silence. Kristina looked over at Dean, wondering why he wouldn't want to talk about the things that bothered him.
"Dean?" Kristina said. "What's gotten into you?"
"What do you mean?" Dean asked.
"I mean, you've been getting really protective of Ezra," Kristina explained. "To a point where you became a helicopter parent."
"So?" Dean responded. "I just want to make sure that Ezra is safe, but I can't do that if we're trapped in this dungeon."
"There's something more to this than making sure Ezra is safe, isn't there?" Dean remained silent. "Okay this is getting ridiculous! What's the deal with you and Ezra?! You two really need to stop with this whole 'strong and silent type' because it will not get you anywhere," she continued. "Now tell me what's going on?"
"Nothing, I just want to make sure that he's okay, what's the harm in that?"
"That you and Ezra feel the same way, Dean you should know by now you can't keep things from me."
"What's your point?"
"You and Ezra are the same," Kristina explained. "Ezra feels like he doesn't belong or feels useless, and you aren't helping him with your constant protective parent mode, your trying to avoid something and it's just not going like you had planned."
"I'm not avoiding anything, I only wish for a way to keep him safe, he grew up too fast."
"Are you afraid that you won't be able to protect him?"
"Is it that obvious?"
"Dean, you know that he's old enough to take care of himself."
"I know that but I want nothing bad to happen to him," Dean said. "I didn't want him in this lifestyle, Kristina, I know we have to deal with that with our family and all, but I just want that kid to be normal, I don't want him to worry too much about surviving."
"Dean, look at me," Kristina asked. Dean glanced over to Kristina not risking to say anything. "Sometimes we can't stop anything that comes into our lives. I'm going to tell you exactly what Shela told me and I guarantee she'd give you the same lecture."
"Which is what?"
"You can't escape from destiny," Kristina recited. "If it's meant to happen, then it will happen," she continued. "Now tell me what's really going on."
"Fine, you already know that before Ezra was born I was a little scared about becoming a father," Dean explained. "I thought I was going to turn into my dad but I now realize, that I did the one thing I was trying to avoid."
"Dean, you know those stupid commercials that talk about turning into your parents? Those commercials aren't wrong, you really can't keep yourself from turning into your parents, it's part of who you are," Kristina said. "Things like that, you can't escape from no matter how much you try. It will always come back to bite you in the ass," she continued. "Now can we stop all this mushy talk and figure out how to get out of this stupid dungeon? If you hadn't noticed, Ezra is still out there and I guarantee that this is part of Henry's plan, to lure him here and take his powers."
"I would but we need to either find the key or a way to pick that lock," Dean said. "You don't have a bobby pin do you?"
"Do I look like I carry one on me?" Dean opened his mouth to say something but Kristina held up her hand. "No, don't answer that. Lets find another way out."

Ezra approached the lower part of the castle staying hidden while he was attempting to find a way in. A thought occurred to him as he saw the soldiers going into the castle from one of the hidden entrances. A smirk appeared on his face as a plan formed in his mind.
Alright, he thought to himself. I may pull a Wizard of Oz and sneak in I just need to get a guard's uniform. Ezra snuck around the back and waited for the nearest guard. Once the guard walked by Ezra thought quickly and grabbed the guard by the throat briefly choking him only to knock him out. Stripping the guard of his clothes, he quickly dressed in them and followed the rest of the battalion into the castle. His shoes echoed with the rest on the wooden floor, swords held by their sides. Ezra had never seen a castle when it was first standing, in his timeline, the castles were all old and ruined from the amount of weathering. Inside the castle, the ceiling was decked out in gold and beautiful murals of angels and people. A gorgeous chandelier hung from the ceiling and it lined the doorways with gorgeous architecture, and if Mary or Ezra's mother were here, they'd be amazed at the sight. Ezra sighed to himself, he missed everyone back home and wished that his mother and cousin were with him.
I miss you guys so much; I wish you were here with me, dad, and Aunt Kristina. Ezra thought to himself. He snapped out of his thoughts when he and the guards were approaching the wall, giving Ezra a chance to slip away and stay hidden behind the tapestry. The guards walked right by him, Ezra waited for a good five minutes before he came from behind the tapestry and tried to find his way to the dungeon, as Ezra believed he was closer to the dungeon when suddenly he ran into the head guard and fell back.
"Well, I was wondering when you were going to make an appearance, Ezra Winchester." The guard said. Ezra stood up and backed away slowly, he didn't want to draw attention to himself but this was exactly what had been happening. Thinking that there was going to be a fight, Ezra grabbed the hilt of his sword however, behind him he heard guards pulling out their swords as well.
"Oh, shit.." Ezra said and turned around only for the guard to punch him in the face. Ezra fell back and landed on the floor, he passed around him he heard the guards speak amongst each other.
"I'm sure the king will be happy to see you." the guard said just as everything went dark around him.
