2nd skate: Sparks of Rivalry

Viktor POV

I sigh trying to get Yuuri to forgive me for not doing the dishes this week. So far he's only speaking Japanese with his sister or talking on the phone with his friends.

'Why is it so difficult to get forgiveness?!' I notice Yurio walking with someone I haven't seen before. At least not here in the ice rink.

"Viktor, what wrong?" (F/n) asked as she stretched alongside Yuuri.

"That girl just who is she? Also, why is Yurio showing her around?" I said out loud as both of them look and see the new girl being a bit too close to Yurio. Though it was very obvious that Yurio didn't want her to be close to him at all.

"I don't know her name yet but she just recently joined the senior division this year." The ice queen herself said not fazed by how close the new girl is with Yurio.

"Guess she might be a challenge for you this year," Yuuri said to his sister as she smiled.

"Maybe but I don't plan to give up the gold medal this year either. I'm still waiting for you to win gold so I can be a bridesmaid at your wedding." She said as Yuuri blushed and began to say random things.

"By the way, you and Yurio have been dating for some time now. Have you two ever considered marriage already?"

"Viktor!" They both yell making me laugh at their reaction. Though it was obvious that our little ice queen may have thought about it ever since the interview of last Grand Prix

"Hey, Viktor!" I see Yurio coming with the new girl but he walked straight to his girlfriend.

"Oh, Yurio coming here to save your ice queen?" I said in a teasing manner which made him get all worked up.

"Why do you always have to tease us every time?!"

"Cause I find it adorable when you two get all shy and defensive about your dating life." He began going all rabid, but I notice from the corner of my eye that the new girl seem too annoyed about something.

Your POV

I try to calm down Yuri before he would try to kill Viktor but I felt like someone was looking at me. I looked to see that girl was glaring at me but I never even met her until today. Then again we will be competing against each other this year.

"Your (F/n) Katsuki, four-time gold medalists, aren't you?" She said as I nodded seeing that she knew my name.

"Enjoy that platform for now because this year I plan to win gold." She said as she stared down at me. It's sorta weird that a girl who is much younger than me can be intimidating.

"Um okay if you say so," she seems taken back that I wouldn't fight back much when being challenged.

"Are you mocking me!?"

"No, I don't mind losing it shows how much I need to work on to win next time." She seem unsure about my answers but walked away from us.

"Is it me or does she give that feeling that she might do some sabotage to someone she hates?" Yuu said as I knew what he meant. It's like she'll do anything to win gold, and I'm worried about what she'll do.

"For now let's focus on your program, you already have the music for the short skate. As for the free skate have you decided on the song?" Viktor asked as I flinch forgetting to pick the free skate song.

"I'm no not yet," I said a bit nervous about his reaction.

"I figured you would have an idea by now," Yuu said a bit surprised about the news.

"Well, I do want the song to go with the program so finding the right music for it is a bit difficult. "

"What kind of theme are you trying to go for?"

"Well, I don't know it's hard to decide on the theme." They seem a bit worried about my theme this year.

"Hey you'll figure it soon you still have three months left." My brother said as I try to think of a theme for this year.

"For now let's focus on the routine we have," Viktor said as I couldn't help but feel a bit guilty. For the past few years, Viktor has been coaching me and my brother and sometimes helps Yuri out with his skating. Lilia had offered to coach me as well so I could practice from a different perspective. My brother has been able to reach the podium a few times now with Yuri as well. With Viktor announcing last year his final year for skating, everyone was surprised about his retirement. He said that even if he did continue to skate he would eventually have to retire and let the next generation take the stand.

It's hard to accept the facts when the greatest skater has announced his retirement to everyone. Though he does have more time to coach me and my brother I feel there's more to it than wanting us to take his place. It almost reminds me of when Veleta hid her illness and didn't tell me before her last year.

"Viktor?"

"Yes, what is it?"

"Are you hiding something from us?" He stopped and just smiled.

"Now why would I hide something," he said without hesitation.

'He is hiding something from us,' I sigh and headed towards the ice.

"Hey, you alright?" Yuri asked as he looked worried but I smiled and nodded.

"Don't worry Yuri I'm alright, I'm just a bit stressed that it's affecting my skating," I said as he lightly touched my cheek.

"You don't have to skate why not go to Lilia and practice with her for a bit. Maybe she can help you out with the step sequence." He suggested as I grab his hand and nuzzle into his hand enjoying his warmth.

"Thanks Yuri, but I still need to practice my spins." He gave me a worried look but he just kissed my forehead.

"If you're not feeling well you have to tell me or your Viktor. I don't want you to get hurt, kay?" I nodded as he smiled but the moment was ruined when we heard a snap.

"This is going to my Instagram," Viktor said as my brother sighed.

"VIKTOR!"

'Well, I guess Viktor is in a teasing mood today.'

Yuri POV

After chasing Viktor around for a while I got ready to train for this year's Grand Prix. With Viktor now retired I'm Russia's only choice to win gold.

"So Yuri, you and (F/n) Katsuki? Have you guys recently got together?" The new girl said as I glared at her.

"Listen here ved'ma, if you do something to hurt her career I won't hesitate to hit a girl, got it." She nodded as I skated away and started my warm-up.

'She's so noisy.'
